I've always really liked finding fish in barrels, rowboats, and storage crates. It's just a nice little treat and surprise every time. Especially once you learn which ones are rare, and especially when they're fully cooked :)
I remeber fishing on an island for pondies for comendation once and i set sail after an hour to go to a sea fort and cook it faster. 2 skelly sloops and a kraken spawned on me. The other sloop was wandering and it came at me while i was in a kraken. I had 20 planks and i wasted them all cause i got joinked by a kraken and couldnt recover to kill the sloops cause they put 5 holes in the sloop. I got to an outpost with 4 holes and prayed to god i find planks in the first barrel. Somehow i managed to recover and sank the skellys. I have never in my life been under more pressure even when fighting other players.
I was the guy telling him his other video didn't cover hunter's call. After trying this method I can tell you the best way to do this is to stay on one veil shipwreck. Don't cancel it just figure out exactly when the repop timer hits those barrels and fish in your downtime. I did this for roughly an hour and got 3 rounds of looting barrels in. My luck on getting fish was insanely bad, one round I only got two fish from all those wrecks. I did get a boatload of chains (ended with around 60) and 14 bone callers, some weary balls... peace ball etc.. I didn't fish much after the first round because I was trying to nail down that repop timer... but afterwards you just keep an eye on the time while you're fishing and go loot every 15 minutes. Maybe you could get another shipwreck and make it to it if you have wind in under 15 minutes but you can be fishing that whole time. I would've went for round 4 but I got interrupted by a duo sloop who parked at cinder islet for a minute and then headed my direction. I swam toward their ship and gave them a bone caller, and because rare sucks I missed the board, but as I'm grabbing a merm I hear their ship blow up. Apparently they were bringing me a keg and one of my skellys hit it. They got their mast up and took off surprisingly quick, but I found them parked at morrow's peak later and put my cursed cannons to use. Sweet vengeance.
@ByczeJaj0 Yes sir! I've seen it bug out and never refresh them as well though... tried to science it and figure out why but in the end I chalked it up to rares spaghetti code. If you wait more than 15 minutes and all the barrels on your first ship are empty start a new one.
this video helped me out so much I've been trying to get hunters call rep for months. I've been struggling to find ship wrecks for that type of fish. genuinely thank you for making this video
Thought i knew just about everything after 1k hours, but dude..i didnt know you could e-brake the ship like that without dropping anchor real fast. Thats awesome.
you can also use it to reverse pretty fast. if you have ever crashed right by a dock or something its always a hassel to get the boat out without damagin it so you can use it to back out instead of turning around
Unironically the best way to lvl up Hunters Call is to fish though. Took a bit but I was able to do 42-50 in about a week with just dedicated Fishing Galleons. Pondies are even crazier because you can just go off to the Shores of Gold and fish for hours not needing to use bait and just 1-2 Storage Crate.
Imagine if Hunter's Call had voyages. "Go to this location and catch this special fish" or "Fire this flare to summon a megolodon or a kraken and defeat it" (the mechanics for this already exist in game)
I promise I'm not trying to be a red shirt guy, but just wanted to throw out there that the kraken will only spawn in between world events. It won't spawn while world events are active, so if you get krakened that means a fresh world event is coming up.
Before watching the video, here are the five methods I know of that don't require you to fish and give _decent_ returns, so not including hunting regular animals: Cooked Fish and other meats, from searching the barrels of Shipwrecks and Sea Forts. Megalodon Meat specifically, from hunting and killing Megalodon, but this can also be found in Shipwrecks and Sea Forts. Mermaid Gems, from many different sources, you honestly don't even need to go out of your way to search for these. Breath of the Sea, from finding a Coral Message in a Bottle and raiding the corresponding Siren Shrine/Treasury. Trident of Dark Tides, found in many places, but especially Siren Treasuries, you also don't really need to go out of your way to search for these.
I would recommend doing forts. Forgetting the name but green skulls. They have gems and staves that you can sell at seaposts. If you just take that detour after 5/6 forts you can get a ton of rep
can you do the same thing with Merchant alliance that spawns the shipwrecks? Just do it in the Devils Roar? Yes I know its not as good as Athena but maybe im solo and dont have Athena yet.
Best piece of advice I give to all new and even not so new pirates, is that if you plan to lvl up hunters call and everything at some point, if you don't care about the commendations literally just turn in all gems that you collect to the sea posts. You still get full money and the rep is better for a handful of gems than an entire crate of fish. This will help save you from a crazy grind in the future and this method semi passively lvls hunters instead of having to focus it when you've done everything else.
7:04 that's exactly how it happens every time. Some reaper 5 chases you down while you're just doing sea forts for fun and you're the one getting skelly shipped so now its a 1v2
I've done the veil voyage a total of 4 times. Once to completion... the rest were just to farm athena rep at the shipwrecks, but of those 3 I only got to sell 1 because 2 seperate sessions I had reapers dive to my server and roll up while I'm down below. I don't even run emissary when I'm solo now.
@@dustin8420 there are far better ways to solo Athena rep with 0 risk. I do sunken treasuries, I can get grade 5 with 2 treasuries and i don't even have to pick up the loot, i can do a dive to a new server and if its got reaper 5 I can adjust based on where i am and how close they are. I've never lost a single piece of Athena treasure and I've never even been sunk as while in a treasury... I think if anyone sees you docked over a treasury they know your loot is protected and i think its a turn off for them, plus 2 of the 3 treasuries are as far north as you can go making them very inconvenient to sail up there for a 'possible' chance of loot, plus you can do treasuries with 4 factions so its not even a guarantee its Athena. I went from lvl 3 to 40 in a very short time doing this.
We SHOULD get a hunters call embassy that can't be seen by reapers and who's Grade 5 perk is "fish tire out x10 quicker when fishing". Just making the act of fishing alot faster. I get reapers is what makes embassy "risk + reward" but I feel like the risk for fish should be that people KNOW you have lots of food on your boat. It is also worth noting that the reward for this embassy has a lesser payout than any of the others, thus less rewarding. Meaning it should also be less risky.
Im not an expert, but I think theres a thing next to the hunters call at sea ports that say it gives higher rep if you hand over fish to the hunters call NPC instead of sovereigns, but I might be wrong
This is factually incorrect. It’s GOLD only. You get bonus gold not rep. Rep remains the same. However if you max out guild you get more rep AND gold so always better having grade 5 guild. Use seaposts if you have no emissary and need more gold
Fishing for an hour at Morrow’s Peak Outpost (cook all trophy fish) and selling at Guild 5 is much safer & easier and also more efficient than this process. Whether solo or as a 4 person galleon. Yes, I have done it both ways. Only use this approach if you specifically want to get a lot of Wreckers. The barrel fish and gems are not worth the hassle & risk versus catching more uncooked fish. And Guild 5 gives +75% hunters call rep whereas seaposts only give +50%
@@AceBountyHunterRex if you want a variety of fish (not hunter’s call reputation) then you should be going to individual spots to catch those fish. Switch locations once satisfied. It’s far faster with less effort, as fishing communities like Hunter’s Calling already know. It’s the difference between the 57 Grade V commendations taking weeks vs. months.
