As someone that has little mechanical knowledge, I love your videos. To the point where I think this is my first post on a video. I feel so much more confident doing a gy6 swap now.

It's actually gotten to the point where you can't go to a show w/o seeing one of these all tricked out!? And to make matters worse; once you see one in person (especially if someones riding it around the show that you're WALKING around) you instantly want one!

Coming from dirt bikes I've never redrilled into the new bars. I've always ground the nipples on the controls off and wrapped with electrical tape around the bars where they'll mount. It saves from broken parts when you go down Also I've always ran Pro Tapers and the tag on the bars specifically says don't drill into the bars.
use hairspray or clear laquer to put your left grip on it lets it slide on then sticks it in place so it wont slide off randomly while your riding

Pro tip use tape when drilling on painted surfaces also helps when marking spot to drill

Random tip on another clean grip removal stick a air blower in there and they blast off. At least that’s how I did bmx bars.

I'd love a 150cc ruckus: but on the other hand for a total price around 5k you can get some prett top of the line ''sport'' scooters (not that they serve the same purpose with ruckus of course....
I have $11k into my scooter. I can get a nice car or even a new motorcycle for that. I wouldn’t though :-) something about the ruckus
With the stretch kit, what do you think the weight limit is before snapping the ruckus in half?

The only thing I hate about these builds is leaving the front fender off. If you actually ride your ruck for any amount of time, you'll see how old it gets with grime splashing up on the inside of everything and on you. Same with the rear as well. To me personally it would be worth it finding and fabricating some kind of fenders that would work and still look cool. Other than that, I love these ruck builds.

in germany a honda grom is 4k euros wich is about $4.555
I think calling that "on a budget" is a stretch. A bit click baity, imo. Good swap job, though. Bike looks good.
sonik-boom it’s only budget because we are running drum brakes front and rear, stock from forks, no custom wheels, still running the stock tank cover, and most of the parts are mid grade. Pretty much a budget build.
Great video I love my GY6 lexmoto aura in the United Kingdom. I once had a song Shen CRF 125 scrambler clone and I wonder how you register a bike with modifications for being road legal or do you just do the yearly ministry of transport test (MOT) to validate it sort of thing?

I'm confused a bit, is the lowering ancillary to the swap, or is it just something else you are doing as well?
Can I GY6 swap a Ruck and keep it raised? I'm interested in making a baby "scrambler" type of ruckus for scooter camping and very light off pavement use. Fire roads, dirt, and a few light bumps. Nothing crazy, I'm not stupid I know the limits of a scooter. I just happen to love scooters and I really like the ruckus, it's perfect for light camping/backpacking because of its customization potential and open design with a million options for strapping and storage.
Any info would be appreciated.

So if I were to buy a ruckus and switched to a gy6 what cvt kit should i use? What carb should i swap out with and what internals should be changed? Looking for a fast strong scooter. What other mods would you recommend exhaust and electronic controller? I saw your video on what mods to do to the stock 49 cc engine...got me thinking of what mods to do to a gy6

Heavy_Haul_N_Fool Ya, you are right. It’s just slightly off, that could be a big deal to some peeps. I think a digital tach would be the answer since they are fully able to be calibrated
RW, I have an Ice Bear PST150 Mojo Trike, have already gone to larger carb, different variator, CDI..etc. I really want a larger engine 300-600cc, do you know of, or have you heard of a larger engine swap with my 150cc GY6? Also want to beef up the front forks as the ones on it are nothing but practice for Evel Knievel stunts with each pothole. Any help would be very much appreciated.

What's up man. I really love your videos but I won't get into all that now. I have to ask you something. I wanted a gy6 ruckus extended. Love em. I tried to get a ruckus. I have a 2k budget. I'm going to do that next . That's what I really want. But I got the icebear maddog 4th generation with the one shock digital odometer. It's no ruckus but. Could I buy like a partial kit? I don't know much out the mechanics but I wouldn't need the brackets to extend it. I guess what all would I need? All I know is the gy6150cc and the carburetor for it .the best but what else? Thanks

What is the top speed of the GY6 vs the stock motor? Also can a stock motor be stretched? Very new to the Ruckus scene (don't have one but am pondering the idea)

the big rucks are odd looking.. The 250cc they remind me of the "African safari Jeeps" and from what i understand there is a little aftermarket performance parts for the big ruckus thats why everyone does gy6 swap tons of options. Which i dont understand since gy6 is a honda clone lol
miguel Rosario those ruckus 250’s are terds for performance. A stock GY6 150 will take it up to about 55. Honda’s secret to success is under power, over build.
Yeah I've seen a few for sale near me they even list as top speed as 65mph my gy6 250 touring scoot hits stock hits 78mph GPS.. And again they "odd looking" lol

I think i moved on from this idea.. Doing a gy6 150 swap.. I built out my 50 as much as you can without Stroker but since its a trike im still only topping around 45mph. So doing a swap is needed but im thinking a SYM 125cc watercooled motor now should be less mods to work and faster.. And my trike started me down the road of scooter moding i want to keep it till frame breaks lol

Yes, it’s not necessary. You can do the same thing with the stock engine. We have parts for that

I remember when I had my zx6r. I used to think the same thing. Maybe someday you will think different 🤷🏻♂️. These little bikes are 1000% more fun then street bikes. Of course that’s my option.
I've got a few bikes, Harley, Norton, dirt bikes etc which I use to pick up moisties but the scooters have their place around town and they usually come with a curry hook which sports bikes lack

Good news is you can modify kit. We also have our OEM look kit. Keeps the Ruckus looking as close to stock as possible.
