However the removal of the governor and the rejetting the carb will likely drop the expected gas mileage.
Honda made three bikes with their 234cc twin that gets 90+usMPG at speeds under 55 and has a top speed of 75 (80mpg) for adult riders.
Honda Rebel (older model ended in 2016)
CB250 Nighthawk (ended 2008 and has the same sized riding frame and orientation as a Bonneville T120)
A scooter version bigger and more complete than a ruckus
Those can usually be bought for under $2000 in mint condition or $1000 in thrasher condition.

Added the stage one kit cdi and clutch. Changed the weights, have tried several different weights. Down to 4.5 gr. Did everything but the intake and exhaust system and there's absolutely no difference of any noticeable amount. Essentially it is still the same. Several other people have the same situation. From what I see the only people claiming an increase is downhill and that's not accounting for the wind. The only increase I see so far is on my credit card.

Variator weights wont directly effect top speed only the RPM range at which the variator opens.
Lighter weights having lesser centrifugal force so opening the variator at a higher RPM making acceleration from standing faster.
Heavier weights having more centrifugal force opening the variator at lower RPM making standing start acceleration slower but mid to top speed acceleration faster.
To gain top end speed, you need to raise the RPM limit or change the gear ratio either with final drive gears or larger diameter variator cones.

Overrange CVT, 11:1 final drive, 21mm carb (19mm would work find too, I believe), Stage6 Sport Pro cylinder and Yasuni C16 exhaust. Malossi Delta clutch helps drivability, but isn't necessary.

Some states do require a motorcycle license, but it's super muddy trying to figure it out

I'd stack your weights with heavy and light every other slot helps with take off and top speed gives a best of both worlds and change your clutch and bell for a 3 puck along with a bigger rpm springs

Hell yeah. Maybe this will give the ruckus a bit of a rebirth. Ever since the Grom came out the ruckus seems to have teken a back seat.
I love mine though, can't wait to see where you take yours

They come and go up here in the Northeast. Got my first new one in 2014 - some years I am the only one out riding and others I see them everywhere. I have much larger CC bikes and for around town I still always find myself grabbing the Ruck.

@@andrewloranger there's just something about it that keeps grabbing you, I remember when I first saw one in college. There was nothing stopping me from getting one but money 😂

Love my Ruck, also own a Spyder RTS, HD Ultra Classic, Tundra 4x4 Crew Limited & an 08 Shelby GT500 convertible for Sunday Shows.
The Ruck is my around town errand bike & I installed a real rear carrier to hold a strap on 7 gallon HTC box for the times I pick up odds & ends. The Ruck also fits well in the back of the Tundra when I go camping pulling a 32' Jayco.
The Ruck is a mechanics dream, parts are cheap, easy to adjust & downright fun to ride. Mine is a 2022, Have the Rolling Ruck's EVI & ignition, Polini variator with Dr. Pulley Sliders, kevlar belt, performance clutch, performance variator face & what is absolutely necessary is a real tachometer.
At Sea Level, on flat ground no wind - my top speed is 48/49mph & will cruise steady at 45mph. My weight above Rukus curb is 230lbs including under seat bag, front barrel bag & rear carrier plus me. I also do not use ethanol gas & prefer the E3.38 spark plug & 10/30 pure synthetic oil filled to 3/4 capacity plus Michelin street tires using 29psi front & 36psi on the rear . For top speed increase, you must exceed 8850rpm's & preferably run above 9000. For those of us above 200lbs, this means 4 or 4.5gtam sliders possibly 3 of each to average 4.25grams.

My little brother goes 55mph on his ruckus. He has done everything though. Big Ported and decked head, cam, big carb, intake, piggy back ecu, metropolitan final drive and all the variator turning. Honestly it's stupid, if you are thinking of doing any of this just get a better bike. He rides a grom instead of his built ruckus.

Better get a bigger bike, a moped is an awful terrible option to go far, 2 strokes can go truly fast but that doesn't ring to me the word "reliable"

when installing the variater there is no reason to take off the belt or the clutch just the variater and the rolls dont need to have a flat spot they are mostly round on other rolls the variater also normally only give acceleration

Even though it’s a scooter and 49cc it can only run 35mph or it has to be tagged and insured or at least that’s how my state is. I know if you’re caught here going over 35 and only have a moped tag then you get a ticket.
