After spending my morning helping a mate fix the front end after his missus rear ended someone, come home crack a Scotch n Coke to find notification for this, definitely made my day been waiting for this episode 👍
Got to love the FG platform - safe in an accident yet still surprisingly easy to repair. Always use some lubrication when drilling steel, it'll help keep the bit cool as well as bite better & therefore make your bit last much longer. 3 in 1 does the trick nicely and you can get it from the supermarket. And if your drill has a speed setting use the low one - it's heat that kills the bit early every time.
Big props to Plazmaman, that intercooler stood up to the crash a whole lot better than the vast majority of factory units ever would.. That's a bloody good sign of the build quality right there...

The trick with spot weld drills is to drill really slow, about 200-300rpm, and apply lots of pressure. You want to cut the spot weld not rub the bit. Use decent cutting fluid as well.
Now make sure you have the right tyres just in case scotty, ie: normal road tyres so if it rains you still have the best grip and then for your drag trips the best tyres so you win. :)

Just binge watching the turbo taxi eps. I didn’t watch it because it was just another turbo fg and let’s be honest fg turbos are way too common but yours is on gas so that makes it cool.
Scotty, it's about time you call the guys down at TCE and put a proper convertor in this thing. I reckon you need to go up about 1000RPM myself and get it deep into it's power band on the line and you'll be in the 11's without those 2nd set of injectors. That's my opinion. The extra set of injectors won't hurt though

My question is why did he measure the bumper mount off the radiator support before he welded it if he was going to change the radiator support anyway? Doesn't that defeat the purpose because the radiator support was bent out of shape and needed replacing
Stuart Ipsen The rad support wasn't bent. The only reason we replaced it was to replace the headlight bracketry which is permanently fixed to the rad support at the factory
Came up pretty good what about if you bypass some things like delete the power steering and anything that you could go without just to get the potential power out of it just for an alternative to forkin out cash if its possible
I thought barra's were supposed to be fast? My l76 vz calais, with only exhaust otr diff gears and converter ran 11.8s Guess this is more an experiment with LPGi tho Can't remember but have you put a converrter in this car yet? If not.. why not
Scotty was a secound hand condenser fitted ? Also noticed what looks like your old trans cooler as well, if the trans cooler was not damaged then ok, but just to be sure i would have changed it, the last thing you need is problems later on ?

Have you tried building boost in 2nd and changing into 1st as you launch? Seems to be the trick most use with the BTR trans.

382whp isn’t much for a Barra. With little mods you guys could easily pump the power and make 10’s (forget 11’s!)
Dylan Baxter it usually makes about 440rwhp but we actually found a loose hose clamp on one of the intercooler pipes afterwards
