My opinion...stick to the LPG and see what you can make out of that...its an interesting road and one less travelled..chucking in a big dollar engine and E85 will get you the times but wheres the challenge in that? This is Carnage, not Gas Monkey...keep up the awesome work Scotty and the lads
I think the real achievement here is keeping the LPG. E85 Barra Turbo has been done to death. Get a built motor but keep the gas. That’s where the real challenge is with this project. Plus it wouldn’t be a taxi if it wasn’t LPG.
Keep it LPG Scotty, I know it must be frustrating but its different doing it on Gas. There are alot of Turbo Falcons out there running on Petrol or e85. Maybe a different injector set up and put a set of good pistons and valve springs in a another LPG Engine. Love the Show, You will get there Mate. Cheers 👍
Look up 'ONGAS' its a old xd with (i think) a bf LPG motor and it ran ( again I think) a 9.9. But it got stolen at the same time 'BLOHSV' did by some FUCKHEAD all because 'THEY' told him to
Definitely keep it LPG. That's why it is a TAXI. I have been watching the turbo taxi since the beginning. You are pretty close to 10s. 11.3s is 10s in my books.
I just love watching you wrestle this car. How many years has it been? Failure is always an option and your optimism and persistence are to be commended. Keep going, this a saga for the ages!
Really dissapointed for you lads, you have deffinitely put in the effort, ive got an LS on gas, i want to see this monster with a built engine running LPG first, then throw an e85 tune at it, just to see whats possible?
Scotty you are a legend. That car is fighting ya! E85 built... drag that taxi kicking and screaming to its 9 second future!! Looking forward to seeing the next episode!
You Poor Bastard.😂 The same thing happened to me trying to run a 9 for 2 years. In the end I bit the bullet and built the box and engine, this time I skipped 9s and ran a 8.4 on my first pass. Now the car has run a 7 with full weight, and registered street car. Build the engine, run e85 and send it.💪
Another ripper installment in the life of Turbo Taxi Scotty, and can't wait to see lots more, especially to see the Taxi doing 10's and under, seriously bustling a nut to see that. I really dig this car. Best of luck Scotty, go hard mate.
Love all your hard work mate. Takes a fair effort to take on a project like this and to bring it to the masses via a pretty schmick RUclips video series. As anyone will tell ya building cars is always a love/hate affair so thanks for sticking it out with turbo taxi and good luck with making the 10’s!👍🏾
this is a good reminder to all the people who watch all the car build show and racing channels that its not just slap a turbo on and go fast. car life is money hard work enjoyment and disappointment. it seems people have lost touch a little at how fast a 10 sec car actually is and what it takes to do a 10sec run. just because there are a lot of people doing 9s and 8s all aver youtube it dosent mean its easy or cheap. looking forward to the engine build. make sure to tell us all the parts and specs of the build
If you came to pick me up in this beast - even with it failing to get 10's - I'd be the happiest passenger on earth. Still - taxi cabs don't run E-85. There's enough energy in the gas to get you 10's. Keep the faith - it can do it.
God damn it Scotty. The amount of work you've put into this damn car and it has just spat in your face at every opportunity it gets. I'm disappointed you didn't get a 10 but not half as disappointed as I'm sure you are. Thankyou for the huge amount of effort you put into these videos for us, do whatever you've gotta do to make the taxi fast, we'll be watching!
Damn. Carnage indeed. Keep going with the LPG. That's what differentiates this build from the others. Maybe a sneaky hit of NOS will get you over the line ;)
I think a transbrake or something to improve the launch would get you over the 10s mark.....You're soooo close! Entertaining viewing as ever tho Scotty!
The reality is Scotty it's up to you and SM as to what to do. But IMHO we've gone this long hoping for that illusive 10 second pass. A bit longer isn't going to hurt us. Keep persevering and then once you get that 10 second pass slap in the built motor and shoot for the 9s on E85.
Little trick to fill up the transmission, I used to run a length of 3/8 transmission hose from under the bonnet, down into the filler hole. Put a funnel up top, filler her up without having to be under the car. Just take a peek under every so often to look for overflow, throw the plug in 👍
Hi guys, persistent to say the least, holden guy here but don't mind this thing your doing, I think that the LPG is a interesting path, and I reckon go the built engine but build it for boosted LPG and see how far you can go with it..? It's the path less travelled and one I'd like to see the results of..
Scotty, all this time and struggle. Would be awesome to see it pay off with the LPG motor. There are so many 10sec Barras on E85, I've seen none on gas!. Turbo taxi would not be the same. Good work mate.
Tip for BTR owners from a BTR owner: You can fill the trans with some garden hose and a 21mm spanner, just run the hose out the filler, over the exhaust, and up the side of the car.
It's a very capable car. It weighs 1900kg with driver, gets over 550km to a tank of LPG, and has driven to and raced at eight different race tracks, but those 10s...
that's it. still fast and plenty of street manners. imagine a clevo in an xd trying to do the same thing, not streetable enough to daily, shit fuel consumption and a hell of a lot more work than just valve springs.
Keep working at it mate. The videos, content and commentary are a credit to you and the team. Looking forward to the next episode. Ps. Get Bubba back on for a future episode. He is a funny bastard.
LPG + Taxi is the main spirit for this project. I'd say; keep it LPG, rebuild the engine, Higher stall converter and gut the car. Everything out. You can fit four Kirkey's if you need to keep it 4 passenger. It needs to shed some weight. Just like the Territory.
I do kind of want to see it into the 10s on LPG... but you can't just keep throwing motors at it. There comes a point where frustration will ruin it for you... are at that point yet? If so... change it up. If not don't. Your Build Scotty, I'm just happy to follow you along whichever route you choose. Cheers bloke🍻
I'll say one thing, you're one hell of a resilient guy Scotty. Me: Where's the sledgehammer. But I couldn't, I love the taxi. It's faster than my RS7 !
When you said converter bolts I was thinking the same thing, but I figured that you'd have put them in off camera. I was still sitting there thinking, that's something I would've done when I was a kid, forget to put them in and wonder why the car wouldn't move...lmfao
ohh Scotty so much bad luck, but e85 and a built motor would solve a few problems and create a few more, I'm sure, so lets see it. Great content for free. Love it.
If it's still not fast enough you can hit up Turbo Yoda and get that 304 that he's building off of him and boost it in Turbo Taxi. However, 11s for that car with as little actual engine modifications as it has, is great. Surprised the hell out of me when it ran it's first 11 and I've been watching since the beginning.
i think you should keep the lpg, there's heaps of others on E85 doing that. this is something different.. that said, if you were considering taking it to USA for drag week then switching to fuel they actually have available makes sense. i think the Aussie Taxi would stand out in their line up. keep up the awesome content, you are doing a great job
@@STREETMACHINETV ..... everyone loves an ol' slapper 😉 The "axe" reference, albeit tardy, just begged to be made given the hitting of the tree to compliment the driveline replacements. Sorry we missed our deadline yesterday, but here's the Turbo Taxi back again. The OG Carnage project!
My opinion...stick to the LPG and see what you can make out of that...its an interesting road and one less travelled..chucking in a big dollar engine and E85 will get you the times but wheres the challenge in that? This is Carnage, not Gas Monkey...keep up the awesome work Scotty and the lads
True, but he has all the side projects for that... AU.....
@@Russh1 The AU would be the perfect budget project. lets buy ebay injectors, alliexpress turbo, facebook manifold etc.
@@WaxedMerkin True, hope Scotty goes with what he prefers, going to suck if he's not enjoying the build.
I think the real achievement here is keeping the LPG. E85 Barra Turbo has been done to death. Get a built motor but keep the gas. That’s where the real challenge is with this project. Plus it wouldn’t be a taxi if it wasn’t LPG.

I love the cars but carnage would be nothing without Scotty's personality.
For absolute sure, he's a champion.
Thanks guys
Anyone who's met Scotty will agree He's just as down to earth in person. Top Bloke!
You can tell he is just a genuine guy
We love you Scott.
That brake light has been out for ever, fix it and the 10s will start flowing
Keep it LPG, just to prove to all the LPG haters that it’s still a cheap reliable fuel source that can still make bulk power.
Look up 'ONGAS' its a old xd with (i think) a bf LPG motor and it ran ( again I think) a 9.9. But it got stolen at the same time 'BLOHSV' did by some FUCKHEAD all because 'THEY' told him to

3 engines in still trying to prove it's cheap and reliable???
Reliable? Cheap? Haha
Paul Garbellini to be fair the first had 500k on it
