Seeing a happy ending to the staircase easter egg makes me so happy. that thing was eating me up inside from how cool it was the first time, and im so glad to see it back to be completed for real.
my thought was "the devs obviously sank a MASSIVE amount of time and effort in to making this" It just felt wrong for it to NEVER see the light of day. You don't build something that massive and just delete it.
Honestly, around that time I was zoning out because it just looked like footage I've already seen in the original video, but when the sky started cracking I was like "wait what, WAIT WHAT? I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THIS!"
Not even a fan of the game, but this easter egg was certainly one of the ones I wanted to see resolved most.

Wouldn't the "There's always a lighthouse" website be referencing the end of BioShock Infinite where Elizabeth says that exact line? Regarding the website itself, wouldn't the starry sky also be a reference to the ending where there are stars that are actually "millions of doors" to other universes?
You’re right but I also think it’s definitely hinting at the next game. The whole “infinite universes” thing is kinda what ties Infinite into the first two games. There’s always a man, a lighthouse, a city. As there probably will be in the next one.
Elizabeth’s power has endless possibilities like that of the millions of doors to other universes. Therefore I feel the next game will be more focused on her powers or something of that sort? Infinites ending didn’t really help lmao
It probably is partially referencing that, yes, but it's also a teaser for something new. Hence the tab name being "Stay tuned."
The ending of Bioshock Infinite essentially means the developers can make the next game wherever they want, since the infinite universes thing gives them infinite possibilities.
Maybe it'll happen in space?
We'll just have to wait and see.
@@sleepy-fc6rf I'm personally hoping for an underground city.

Imagine putting the Minecraft title screen seed on a top discoveries list but not the far more significant pack.png seed. The story behind it is insane, too. They WERE using the Minecraft@Home method, but one of the people working on the project decided to check a number of seeds on his own computer. He actually set it up so it'd make an incredibly loud siren jumpscare sound if the program found a match, to wake him up as soon as possible if it happened. Sure enough, it did. There's a great video by SalC1 on the subject.
Good runner-up is the seed of one of the paintings in the game. Yes, really. People looked at the painting of a burning skull and wondered if the backdrop was based on a real world or not. Turns out the guy who made all of the paintings DID use a real MC world as reference for the painting's background, but just enough of it was changed that we would've never found it if it weren't for said artist literally still having the screenshot he used as a reference. Stuff like this is why I have a hard time deleting ancient files from my hard drive.
Yeah I almost never delete stuff from my hard drive. Makes me worry about how many terabytes I'm gonna need in the future...
I feel a good thing to note here is that of Minecraft version Alpha 1.1.1, long considered lost, it was eventually found thanks to somebody not deleting a file for almost a decade.
Shows it may be worth it no matter how many terabytes ya gotta sift through lol
@@k-leb4671 I'm already at 17TB of storage for my PC. It's only the beginning.
@@cpufreak101 Wow, really? I genuinely had no idea that happened, but that's really cool. I didn't even know there was a version of Minecraft that was only downloadable for a few hours before being replaced!
I just found the Twitter thread by the person who found that version, and the line "never delete anything" is something I think I agree with 100%. I mean god, I used to think my first ever Minecraft world from 2011 was just lost to one too many computer changes, but I found it on an old external drive about two years ago.
A guy I watch called Cybershell also said it pretty well at the end of a video about another video that's been partially lost to time. "If you see an internet video you really like and you theoretically might want to watch it again someday, you should download it. Don't just assume it'll be there forever or that somebody else will do it. Anything can be taken down at any time for any reason. And the only guarantee you'll ever be able to watch something again is if you literally have it backed up to your hard drive."
"Theres always a lighthouse" is probably just a reference to infinite as you start and end the game in a lighthouse.
Elizabeth literally says it
@@burningsexuality1540 still a great game
It’s most likely the start of an arg since the bio shock series is no stranger to them.

I don’t understand how the “nuke disarming” goal was accomplished. How is it possible for every player on PS4 to disarm? What are the exact criteria?
Same. I mean, I own this game and I didn't disarm my nukes. But maybe it's because I haven't connected to the online server in years?
@@Layonayo Nukes are almost useless. They prevent people without the Hero status to invade your FOB. But everybody who really starts with FOBs will already have played enought singleplayer to reach that title. You pretty much get it for completing the story
@@krismontello2193 Maybe another glitch like before
I looked it up: oddheader mispoke. It was actually only on PS3 that they did it, not PS4. There are far fewer PS3 players so it makes sense. Apparently the Steam and PS4 versions have a long way to go before disarmament.
@@krismontello2193 That seems a lot more plausible. Still, it must only count active players
For the bioshock Easter egg, it was actually supposed to be part of an ARG that bioshock was doing, like There's Something in the Ocean
That “wreckfest” Easter egg is eluding to a scene from “o brother where art though” where a criminal shoots up a herd of cattle using a tommy gun, which the cow is now holding to defend himself
A god damn fish found an 18 year old video game easter egg. Yep, that sums up the insanity of 2020 very well.
I'd call it a glitch.. and the sort of glitch no human would find since they'd never do that I guess?
Not just an undiscovered secret, but in a main series Pokemon game no less. The amount of people that have played & messed with this game in the years since it came out are probably in the multi-millions, including casual players. NONE of them ever did the exact inputs that the fish did. Truly fucking MINDBLOWING.
@@jojoversus1100 some of the bugs people HAVE found are pretty ridiculous though in terms of what you need to do.
MissingNo.? The number of ways you can trigger THAT are pretty small actually. BUT it's the sort of thing where you can discover the bug in stages. I actually noticed that the shore of Cinnabar was special on accident without even knowing about MissingNo. I just.. happened to encounter a Pokemon while arriving from the sea to the east. I think it was a Pidgeotto? Which you don't normally see on Cinnabar.
Someone who realizes that this is an exploitable bug might then start using it to farm hard to find Pokémon. Famously people used it to farm Safari Zone Pokémon. Then one day go there when they DON'T have location data loaded in memory, then it's O-o' time.
Unless your character name is one of the odd ones. See it's using your character name as encounter data, and depending on what your name IS you might see relatively normal stuff. Not Mew though. Mew would require you to hack your character name since it needs a non-letter character.
Enh... here's a wiki page: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Old_man_glitch so much wiki page... O.O'
the most notable part is that you can actually get the full set of starter Pokémon this way... and Porygons.

Yeah, they are an awesome group of people!
Oddheader: *Finishes talking about a 26 year old game*
Oddheader: Even though this next game came out 4 years ago we're talking about it
Newer games tend to be much more forgettable, plus there are myriads of studios working on games and you never know who's gonna be the next big hit. Games tend to take a lot longer to finish, but there's a lot more concurrent development so there end up being more releases anyway. Gone are the times where a single hit remains in your memory for a long time.
@@wallabraNo, hits very much do still remain in people's memories for a long time. It's just that the people remembering the hits are younger.
@@KelpTheGreat they're usually indie developments, with a few exceptions whose volume wouldn't suffice to fit our definition here.

I feel like the cow with the tommy gun is a reference to the movie “O Brother Where Art Thou” in the scene where George “baby face” Nelson is driving with Everett, Delmar and Pete he starts shooting a Tommy gun at the cops chasing them, and when he accidentally hits a cow Delmar says “Oh George not the livestock.” I’m not sure but that’s just what I think when I saw it.

"You son of a Batman: Arkham Knight"

A note about the MGS 5 ending, it was technically achieved twice. The first time was acknowledged by Konami, but they also rejected the outcome because a member of the community had removed several nukes from the severs that could not be interacted with outside of hacks. The cutscene did still play, though.
A few weeks after these "phantom nukes" as they were called got removed, a true disarmament where no nukes, legitimate or illegitimate, existed on the PS4 servers, although Konami still hasn't commented on that one or allowed the cutscene to be played again.
