The old forester in my village in Southwestern Germany used to have a wild boar he found as a wounded baby. He trained him like a dog and went to the bakery and grocers with him and made him sit and wait in front of the shop.
Most people don't know that pigs are just as intelligent as dogs and even learn quicker.

Xuinos - You wouldn't say that if it was tearing your fields apart and destroying your farm, causing damage that can take years to heal. Hunting wild pigs and boar is highly encouraged in many areas because the wild versions of these animals are mean, dangerous, and destructive.
Also, you'd be amazed how few years it takes a domestic pig to irreversibly go wild if released into the wild. They go fully wild in no time flat and it take a hundred years to breed that wildness back out of them.
When I was a child, my dad raised a boar... he was in the woods, collecting mushrooms. She was really small and injured, he brought her home. She was really calm and peaceful, but dad never let us pet her. Deep down he knew, she was still wild and always will be. He loved her very much... but after some "accidents" he let her go back the place where she truly belonged...

Yes, bob cats are felines, just like house cats. However, they are wild animals that are not bred for friendliness and thus are very dangerous to handle. Only a trained professional should ever handle them.

My great grandmother had a bobcat. There was this beautiful painting that hung at my grandmothers house of my great grandma with her bobcat, when I was older I asked who it was n my grandma told me it was my GG and her bobcat (can’t remember the name). She had rescued it n brought it back to health as a young one, she tried to release it back into its habitat as she thought that was best for it but it wouldn’t leave the area n would do this crying sound (as she put it). So GG decided to bring her back to her home n care for it. She would take it in the car rides n she said it made a great guard cat (when in car lol). The bobcat lived with my grandma for years, (idk if it died of health reasons, age or accident). But yeah I loved hearing the story of my GG n her bobcat, that she loved so much. My grandma said my GG favorite thing was sitting on her back porch watching her bobcat explore the outdoors, playing in the trees, chasing yarn (yes just like a household cat 🐈), just enjoying life.
would love to have an all-day segment with Dave where I could be Jimmy in these situations. these short 9 min segments are already interesting enough and man I would love to just be able to talk to this guy for an entire day. it would also be really cool to be able to engage with the animals which is why I wish Jimmy was a little more willing to engage lol.

I got so excited when I saw this in my subscription box
I saw a bobcat in the wild once on my way back from my friend's house! We live out in the country, and even though I've been out in the woods my entire life, I'd never come across a bear, mountain lion, or any type of predator before, so this was really cool for me. It was running straight in front of my car for quite a while before it finally walked off the road, but it was so awesome to see. I couldn't wait to tell my family, because we're all huge animal lovers.
