Ah yes. The mental breakdown that comes after Phos losing their arms. Such a classic :DD ⚠️Only keep reading if you've already watched episode 8 (or come back to this part of the comment when you're done watching it!!) 12:36 :)))
Considering the gems are solid rock without organs, they likely hear sound differently than just through their ears, so earmuffs might be useless. Maybe the whole body gown is their version of earmuffs. And it was a jellyfish in the bowl, Phos was getting some extra light to help with the exhaustion. Then this is something to notice with cultural context and never brought up in series: the gems’ hibernation wear are folded in the manner for dead people kimonos. Sounds like you’ll definitely be reading the manga from the intro, I’m glad.
Yeah, we don't know the totality of their physical bodies and how they work, so who knows! Oohhhhhhhhhh that's interesting to note about the Kimonos; thank you for that information! Also, yes, as long as people don't spoil me on the manga, I would love to read it after the anime! Thank you for the comment!
Its always a joy to rewatch this arc, i recently rewatched it and bawled my eyes out. I love Antarc. Their dynamic with Phos is my favorite 🤍💚 Gonna patiently wait for my favorite episode! Regarding Antarc's job being useless, I'd like to think that Kongo came up with something when Antarc wanted to be helpful (a la Cinnabar situation) and Antarc actually took the pride in it.
Did I say Antarc's job was useless? I don't remember saying that. Hm. Maybe you misunderstood me in the discussion, because I think I said basically what you did so I'm a little confused; anyway, I love Antarc's character so much! Thank you for the comment!
I just love how much phos' peppermint hair stands out against the white snowy backdrop, it's so beautiful. Phos's hair alone took the CG team 13 months to make since they wanted the way light would reflect and pass through it to be as close to the real gemstone as possible. Also if i recall Diamond took 5 months and Cinnabar's took 3 to make. Also this episode was directed by Shinichi Matsumi who would then direct Beastars.
Yessss, that peppermint stands out so beautifully! That is INSANE with the hair on each of them - the quality definitely shows through, though! Thank you for the comment and information!
I’ve always wondered how Rutile manage to distinguish between amethyst 84 and amethyst 33 shards or are the twins so close that they share similar memories so that is doesn’t matter if their body parts gets mixed up
You knowwwww, that's a really good question! I wondered if it...didn't matter so much as long as each "core" was separate...but that brings to light what the core even is....Hm. Good questions! Maybe the manga or the show will eventually answer that for me! Thanks for the comment!
Cinnabar has all that poison and damaging stuff around them. I would imagine that when hibernating they can't control them. So who knows what kind of damage that could do while no one is *conscious*(?) (if conscious is even the right word)
I just realised that right after all the explanation Antarcticite has done about doing what you can with what’s been given to them as low hardness gemstones, they go on to say that they wish Phos had more to them…. WTH??? Also, chances are by the time you’re reading these comments that you’ve seen episode 8, and yea… thank you for reacting to the series!
Regarding the scene where Phos has her head in the bowl, that's because there is a jellyfish in it. We have seen in plenty of previous episodes that the gems use jellyfish as a light source, for example in the episode where the gems were searching for Phos in the ocean.
Imagine being active for such a short period, and during that period of time Phos is hibernating. But this time, they are active and Arcticite already knows they are going to be annoying
It's been so long since I watched this anime that I almost completely forgot about the ice floes
They are scary 😶
The Ice Floes are SCARY! A big ol' pile of NOPE for me. Thank you for the comment!

*laugh cries* aahahahahahaha oh yes, Rule of 8 this next week!
But ugh...that's so scary about Phos's arms! Thank you for the comment!

@@RomaniaBlack Oh, maybe I really misunderstood, I was talking about your point about crushing the ice

That IS a very good point! It's very sad and I feel for them, but it makes sense!
I just realised that right after all the explanation Antarcticite has done about doing what you can with what’s been given to them as low hardness gemstones, they go on to say that they wish Phos had more to them…. Ooof, yeah, craziness! Thank you for the comment!
Kongo is Adamant in a different translation

Yes! Someone on patreon told me that and I'm going to talk about that in a future episode; thanks!
Antarc is serious and cute in same time 🤍
They're one of my new favorites for sure! Thanks for the comment!

Hahaha, awww, poor Phos! Thank you for the comment!
Someone give Romania one action figure of Phos 💚😊
Awwwwww that would honestly be very sweet! Y'all don't have to, but I do love Phos an awful lot! Thank you for the comment!
I really like Antarc too, probably the most (or second most) masculine among all the gems, Bortz being a close second imo
I would agree with that! I really love Antarc as well! Thanks for the comment!
