Kevin - A 3D printing service accessible right from F360 is certainly convenient, but as a hobbyist designing fairly simple parts suitable for basic ABS or PLA, is Xometry appropriate? They seem more tailored to commercial prototyping.
I agree they generally target commercial applications... but you'd be surprised how affordable some of the materials/processes are - especially since their order minimum is very low (i.e. they don't require. you to purchase more than 1-2 parts in most cases).
Some more advanced hobby projects with moving parts could utilize SLA / SLS / MJF prints. It can be a lot of fun :)
Continue the series!! I’m itching for some new skills. Keep up the good work.
Can you do this with the free version? Just getting started with 360.
Yep! The Xometry add-in is free and works on all F360 license types.
Are those useable metal wrenches? I am a NuB so forgive me if this question is dumb
Interesting... without looking in f360 myself, where are the parts actually produced and does it work internationally?
They're produced in the same country as ordered from. In other words, in the US, everything Xometry makes is produced here.
They have services across North America, EU, Turkey, Asia (more).
@@ProductDesignOnlineso yeah no foreign shipping i guess. 😢
@@trowawayacc What country are you located in?
@@ProductDesignOnline EU so I should be safe?
@@1powelrainbow2 Yep! You can check their EU site for more info - xometry.eu/en/
Is the add on free?
Yes, the add-on is free. A great way to even gauge product pricing or get DFM feedback even if you don't intend to order right away.
