    Your presentations are perfectly paced and so easy to follow. So often with these instructional videos I find that I am either impatient with the ponderous presentation or left confused as the presenter skips over intermediate steps. I am very enthusiastic about learning Fusion 360 and you course is making the learning process very easy indeed. WEll DONE !

    At first, the speed that he went through the steps was hard for me to keep up with. I'd pause the video, try it, hit play and so on and so forth, but it got frustrating.
    For Day 2, I tried watching the entire video first and then went through it a second time following the steps. THIS made it MUCH easier!!!

    Just upgraded to a new 3D printer for feel the need to get back into Fusion 360 and remembered you are an excellent source of learning. Great job so far. Quick question - in all of your previous lessons you made a point of creating a component right at the start. In the paperclip lesson we never created a component. Is there a reason we didn't crete a component? Or did I miss it?

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  14 дней назад

      Light blue means the sketch geometry is not yet fully defined. Something we discuss later in the course, in more detail.
      Green = fixed (constraint) lines
      Black = constrained
      Purple = Projected geometry
      Blue = Under defined geometry

  • @noweare1
    @noweare1 11 месяцев назад

    Another awesome video.Was it by accident that the circle just happened to be at the origin of the sketch. Otherwise a plane would have to constructed on one of the ends of the path which would of been a little bit more challenging.

    2:40 I did not understand the significance of the black line. can you explain what the difference is between the black line and blue line. Or what would happen if the sketch was blue instead of black?

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  3 месяца назад

      Blue (undefined) lines can still be moved around which means that they may get moved unwillingly when you change dimensions. The goal is to fully define sketches so you can update things predictably. This is covered specifically on Day 16, in greater detail.

    Something that nearly has me tearing my hair out following this tutorial. When it moved onto creating the new sketch to draw the circle I couldn't do it without clicking "finish sketch" on Sketch1 first. Maybe your settings are different to mine but it had be rewatching the same 20 seconds 10 times to try and figure out what i was doing wrong

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  Год назад +1

      Hi Sam. I select 'Finish Sketch' at 4:57. Not sure if that's where you're at in the lesson?
      In general, selecting Finish Sketch is not required if you activate any of the modeling commands while a sketch is active. Activating a modeling command will automatically close the sketch. However, activating another sketch command will assume you're wanting to sketch in the currently active sketch.

  • @alexanderalguireschannel7058
    @alexanderalguireschannel7058 10 месяцев назад +1

    @productdesignonline If you are willing, I had a question. You did not start this lesson by creating a new component at the beginning, instead you jumped straight to sketching. Is there a reason for this? I notice that as you go about creation the parametric timeline is still in effect, and when I look up online it is recommended that a component be the start of any new design (from what I have read, I am new please school me). I will go about starting this with a new component as I go about following your furthering steps as that at a base seems to be the best practice. But please do let me know:) Thank you for your time, efforts, videos and voice, yes I said voice. It is clear and concise and easy to follow your instructions as it flows well.

    His tutorials are great, but they are even speedier than I like. Sometimes I wish there was a bit more explanation as to the Why, not just the How. I keep kitting Fusion shortcuts in the Video window and screwing up the playback :)
    I wish someone would do a video on how to move everything around the workspace (not the design) without having to click on the toolbar at the bottom. I finally figured out the view angle (box in top right), but the I can't figure out how to use the Hand without clicking it's icon :( AutoDesk's "guide" depends on these types of tutorials. Product Documentation is even less useful than Microsoft's - it's basically a gross summary. Not b*ching - sometimes it's a good learning tool to figure it out yourself. Sometimes :)
    I also wish someone would explain how to edit some of these design configuration details; for instance, Constraints, "Shell," etc. "D" lets you edit dimensions, not always easily, but I can't figure out how to "see" the constraint definition details, et alone edit (or clear) them. Another is "Shell" - Somehow Kevin was able to edit his Shell in the Glass Bottle. No matter what I do, however, I can't edit it - clicking on the timeline shows it, but doesn't open the config window as his did. Again, not really b*ching - just a wish.

      I'm using an Apply Magic Trackpad. On that, you simply move two fingers around on the trackpad. With most computer mice, press and hold the middle mouse button and move the mouse around to pan.

    +1, I don't have Fusion because I don't have Windows but I see the Fusion 360 is much easier to use than FreeCAD, the Fusion 360 is well-programmed tool...

      lol. Takes a while to plan, script, and record the tutorials. I'm revisistng each one to see what things I can update per changes and general improvements/feedback from the original instead of just recording them as-is :)

    Why we didnt make a component this time?

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  3 месяца назад

      If you have a single-part file and no plans to copy the component, then creating a component is not needed as the default file in Fusion acts as a component itself (if you were to insert the file into another).

      @@ProductDesignOnline thank you so much for the answer you are the best. That what you told me is the problem that i had in one project of mine. I copy something that it wasnt component and everything went bad from that point. This is the reason i started youre tutorials.

    Is there any way to get nice bold and easy to see lines as seen in your video? All of mine seem to be pretty thin, making it very hard to tell what kind of line it is and even what color.

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  9 месяцев назад +1

      I believe it depends on your monitor/resolution. There's no setting to change sketch line thickness that I'm aware of.
