    @6:20 flip option should be selected. Also dancing around before selecting something makes it difficult to see what point you finally select, and im watching this at almost half speed. Would also suggest getting something that shows left or right click or keystrokes for instructional purposes.

      @@ProductDesignOnline Definitely, please use something that highlights clicks (like the Mouse Textmarker from PowerToys on Windows) - and/or make your mouse pointer a bright color and bigger. I have to rewind the video sooo often just to see what exactly you do with the mouse. (Or is the need for frequent rewind a ploy to boost your video's score on RUclips? 😉 )

    For me when I do this the box just 'slides' so its south east corner touches the north west corner of the top, and the rotation option is rotating around the edge going up in Z, so the best I can get is two boxes next to each other. This actually makes sense (That corner of the top is moving to the opposite corner) but I don't know why it won't flip or how I can get it to.

      Didn't help. Wish he had spent some time himself showing how to do this. *edit* : after a ton of tries I got it. I think he should have reviewed how the mirroring of the hinging works more and demonstrated different permutations. For 10 minute videos he puts out every few months they sure aren't very involved.

    Perfect series of videos ! I built some boxes with the previous edition, and was looking to build my own styled hinges. This update is great, and I'll try to adapt it so I can enter as a parameter the size of the object I want to put inside the box, or even try to make a custom sketch in part 1 and then build a box around it. @productdesignonline I thought in the last video, you said it was better to use constraints than to define dimensions multiple times. So @2:07 where you typed =BoxWidth a second time, would it have been better to set constrain that as equal to the other side that was already defined as BoxWidth?

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  Месяц назад +1

      Great question! Because user parameters were used here, that is similar to using a constraint in fact that you will not have to update them manually.
      The idea (which I could've discussed more) is that if you need a box that is not square you can alter the one user parameter (boxWidth *2, for example).
      Otherwise, you are correct that you want to use a constraint instead over manually applying extra dimensions 😎

    • @ProductDesignOnline

      The anchor represents a new "ground to parent" feature that was recently released in Fusion. You can ignore it for most all of the lessons in this course. For this lesson or any where Joints are applied, you can right click on the component and select "unground from parent" and proceed per the tutorial.
