No it doesn't drive like an X3/Macan. Maybe it doesn't have the prominence of a GLC. Maybe a little more expensive than a Q5. BUT the way Volvo blends luxury, sport, style, safety, and Swedish quirks can't be discounted. I really think this may be one of the best in the class, especially interior wise.
I just wish Volvo would, at LONG last offer a power-adjustable wheel(unavailable on any Volvo). No it is not a deal breaker, but it would be sweet to have it added so that it would be memory-linked for those that have multiple drivers.
Volvo doesn’t use a power adjustable steering column because in a severe frontal collision, if the vehicle’s electrical system was destroyed, first responders would still be able to move the steering column to help extract the driver if need be.
Who cares about a power adjustable wheel?
@@matthelms4167 I knew there was a safety reason for it. I'm guessing the same applies to the non-extendable sun-visors.
I'm trading in my 15' x3 xDrive28i for a 23' B6 ultimate + polestar tune(doesn't void warranty) it will put out 330hp/360ft.lbs for the same cost as a xDrive30i. That's nearly m40i performance for xDrive30i prices and way better finance options in Canada.
It's a damn good value IMO.
You have a good point! I have been looking for a new daily and I’m torn between the Mercedes GLC 300 & the Volvo XC60. GLC is known for its ultra luxury features, but you pay for litterly every option. Volvos have so many feature that come equipped as standard vs other brands. I really like the GLC, but the simplicity and minimalist in Swedish design is very attractive to me as well.

Volvo did a nice job and the XC60 is quite impressive. But,,, I'm a "wagon guy" so I just ordered a Volvo V60 T8. The extended electric range plus the total power output is crazy good. Otherwise it's basically the same car as the XC60. It just boils down to either you're a "wagon person" or an "SUV person". Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, sport, luxury, fast, and yet practical Volvo I believe is head of the class.
I have a 2022 Inscription and LOVE it. I enjoy everything about it. Totally recommend.
I like the update on how you equip the car. However, it was a bad move removing Momentum, R-Design and Inscription names. Those were cool in my opinion. I wish they kept these trim levels (and at the same time customizing the dark theme with an Inscription interior). I also wish they kept the wireless charging too (albeit could be because of the chip shortage). Overall, in other areas, nice car to sit in, luxurious to drive, good tech and spacious.

Very informational!! This review was very well done. I'm looking into purchasing a luxury vehicle within the next couple of months, and the more I compare other brands, the more I keep coming back to Volvo. And that says a lot, especially coming from someone who works at a Infiniti/Land Rover dealership. 😂 Love the infotainment system they have on all their models. Looks A LOT better than the tablet that just sorta sticks out from the dash that some other vehicles have, like the Lexus NX250. I do wish they kept the wireless charging for the phones. I'm sure they'll add it back soon enough.

As for comfi ride, bump absorption with 17 inch wheels is bad, so with 20 inches it seems to me that it will spoil the ride comfort unless there is air suspension
Trading my 2020 T5 Momentum for 2023 B5 Plus Dark …I’m nervous. I do love my 2020. It’s very peppy when I step on it and it’s solid. But the new one is going to be fully loaded …I was missing some features on my 2020 I really wanted.

Nice review. I'm between the B5 Plus Bright on this and the XC40 with the same trim. I plan to test-drive both next summer, but have a feeling the XC40's cargo capacity may be a dealbreaker.

It is the heads up display. Where it reflects onto windshield. I think that is what you are referring to.

Just ordered a plus in bright dusk with maroon interior. Sad about the lack of wireless charging in the 2023.
I just test drove a 2023 and it did have the wireless charging phone pad. That was in a plus version
Wireless charging has been in european xc60's at trim levels since late 2021
Very detailed explanation and review, well done. I have 2022, Polestar model and overall its a good car, but it has some extra flaws that you haven't mentioned. For any reason, Volvo move the switch between ACC and Steering assist to the main screen. Not only it is very dangerous and forces the driver to keep his eyes of the road for a prolonged period of time, it leaves two useless button on left side of the steering wheel! Havent you wonder what do those buttons do?! A very Unsafe move from a company bluffing about safety!

@@aldeflorio5500 I felt, for example when there is no clear road lining on one side of the road and system gets confused about the center of the road and steering wheel becomes jiggly.

What was wrong with momentum, inscription and R-Design
I disagree with the screen size comment. The reason I disagree is I hate overly large ostentatious tablet type screens.
I think the way the Volvo integrates the screen into the dashboard profile is perfect. I’d much rather have a smaller screen and better aesthetics.

The minute Volvo announces that they’re offering a FULLY ELECTRIC XC60, I’m there 😉👍🏻. The best vehicle I ever owned was my 1995 Volvo S90. It was their flagship and a luxury car owners dream car. A true pleasure to drive. IMHO, I haven’t had as nice a car as that. 😕. I sure hope Volvo brings EV status to the XC60 so I can once again own a Volvo. 😉👍🏻
Agree 100%. I'm also waiting for an EV 60 too. Had the 2021 S60 recharge PS for 8 months but the phev druvetrain was not tbat great. Liked Pure but not enough EV range and when driving faster in PS, sucked way too much petrol/
50% of their cars by 2025 will be full EV and I'm sure their best selling "XC60" will be one of the first releases

Great car except for no AM band!!!!!! Why?? Yes I’m old and listen to AM a lot!! Also in the Volvo app why is there no “ trip” meter? That records where your car goes every time u stop and start car?
I had a xC 90 limited edition 2016 model number 1724 I think!! Loved it!! Wi-Fi in car all the bells and whistles then it took a crap after 116,000 miles. Yes after 6 years and 116 thousand miles turned into shite!
Still love my Volvo but the moment they go all electric I’m out!!
Oh yes as far as AM radio goes I did find some Apps that have AM radio but it’s not the same;(;(👎👎👎👎 I do love SiriusXM have a “life time Subscription!!!

It is a nice car but full of problems for the new infotainment . The new android automotive operation system doesn't work. Every day i have a different problem with air conditioning, or mobile phone, or radio, or google map and so on.. You reset the system and it goes for 1 day but the day after you restart with the same problems . It is1 year that volvo is sending new OTA by air but they cannot solve anything. The software of this car is a big disaster. For all the rest the car is very nice.

DONT BUY A VOLVO XC60 my mother bought one less then a year ago and has been on a tow truck 6 seperate times and at the Volvo mechanics for more then half the time she has had it… $90,000 and it’s been nothing but a piece of junk… Volvo will not help her with a refund or replacing the car bunch of pricks..
Volvo failed...it tried hard but in the wrong direction.
Test drove it. I hated it. The horse power is a lie. It's sluggish and the suspension is bad. The infotainment system was beyond annoying. Ended up getting an Audi Q5.
