The new 2024 Volvo XC60 seamlessly blends practical design with stylish aesthetics, establishing itself as a distinctive option in the luxury-SUV class. For 2024, Volvo has made strategic changes, discontinuing the front-wheel-drive option for the B5 powertrain and the more powerful B6 powertrain. Exterior paint options have been revised, and the Plus and Ultimate trims now include a standard air purifier, laminated windows, and a 20-inch wheel option. In terms of technology the XC60 places a strong emphasis on innovation, featuring a 9.0-inch touchscreen, voice controls via the Google Assistant, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle's safety features are notable, with standard automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and lane-keeping assist across all trims. The available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode further enhances its safety credentials. Inside, the XC60 impresses with a quiet, comfortable cabin adorned with rich materials, mirroring the opulence found in more expensive Volvo models. Adult-sized accommodations are provided in both rows, and the cargo space, while not class-leading, offers practicality with the ability to fit 20 carry-on suitcases with rear seats folded. The XC60's commitment to sustainability is evident with the plug-in-hybrid powertrain, offering a 82 km electric-only driving range. Charging options include public stations and home outlets, with an additional feature allowing the battery to be charged using energy generated from the gasoline engine.
