On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8. - Игры

Thank you guys for watching and if you have any ideas for future videos please put them in the comment section below and they might just end up in the pipeline, thanks again, much Love.
I would like to see f4 phantom vs f5 tiger
Vietnam, close ground support, akin to Broken Arrow in We Were Soldiers.
all of your 3-5 round dogfights are great but these missions (with fun little sidequests) are more fun for me
Can you do a P-38 vs Mosquito, please???
I like the new songs you are using
Absolutely beautiful mission. My father is retired Vietnam USMC and I showed him your channel yesterday. Said he could only watch for a time before it brought up a touch of PTSD. Still, he was extremely impressed with your flying and tactics. Good show.
Very cool and sorry to hear about the PTSD, honestly such a terrible war I can’t imagine having experienced it and then having to live with it. Takes a very strong person.
I'm so sorry 😢
It's fascinating just how dangerous these missions were in Vietnam especially with the navy pilots where a mission accomplished is by landing back at the carrier deck
Loved the video. Try "lofting" the AGM-45 at about 8-12 miles. Just ensure the SAM is on. The -45 seeker could steer the bars in the ADI, so you could accurately home on the radar. Also, the correct terminology is "Shotgun" for the Shrike. SEAD was in it's infancy, and very dangerous. You correctly realized you only had guns to prosecute the attack, just like in the real world. That's why Hunter/Killer tactics came about. Weasel finds and "marks" the target, then a strike team bombs/rockets the site.
Did not know about shotgun for the shrike, thank you for teaching me something new.
“Two Morons try Hunter/Killer in Vietnam” 😂😂
@@MrSinnerBOFH Somehow, a Su-57 appeared.
@@GrowlingSidewinder you are welcome. Keep the great content coming, this old Weasel is really liking it!
@GrowlingSidewinder I think you might have been better served with cluster bombs on the centerline for SEAD missions. DCS Sport has a recommended loadout video for the A-4 that includes a SEAD loadout.
Awesome mission, these kind of naval aviation videos are by far my favorites!
Agreed! Keep ‘em coming.
Yes
Agreed, might be my favorite gs
That fly-by on the Iowa-class battleship 😮
That's quite a number of them in that group. Maybe a little too much(Not sure if all the escorts are Iowa-class Battleships🤔) for such a lot. Surely one is enough with the rest all being some destroyers and an occasional cruiser??
Looks like this is an alternate history mission with all six Iowas completed, refitted, and deployed in the same CAG just for the ultimate flex! Imagine them running shore bombardment instead of Newport News or New Jersey alone. Surf City!
The 1960's take off from a carrier was pretty intense and than for some strange reason things got groovy, and than straight back into the intensity.
the takeoff and landing from the aircraft carrier looked phenomenal🤩
No grade unsafe cut pass. Taxi 1 wire.
The Air Boss, CAG, and Squadron CO all want a word with you.
Lol.
Also, a bit of a limitation on DCS apparently. The A-4 Skyhawk, and also the F-4 Phantom were cradle launched, not Nosewheel bar launched.
That Scooter is a work of art, it's amazing that it's a mod and not an official DCS module. Awesome work by the team behind it! 👍
It's always interesting using these older weapon systems without MFDs and HMDs and all that. Just Mk1 eyeballs and whatever sound the cockpit is blaring at you.
Agreed I have a special place for the Vietnam era aircraft.
i'd love to see these types of videos more often, it's really cool spectating what feels like a real mission from start to finish
agree
Absolutely love the Vietnam era with the old stuff, AAA and SAMS....and the Naval aviation!!!
Great to see how they worked then, then look at what we have now! Something about old-school tactics really gets me interested!
Need more of these carrier based missions. Awesome landing too!
Man, I really love your videos, I think I watched all of them. You're the best at doing dcs fights and small attack missions. I hope you can make your channel even bigger. Love you! Keep up the good work and try to make the videos a little longer. Much love from Poland
Thank you for your support brother much love.
A4's are just packed with character. When I downloaded this mod, I think I just watched it on the free cams for about an hour, getting some nice screenies. A beautiful looking jet.
Another great mission, you did it justice.
This might be one of the first times I’ve seen GS operate off a carrier. Even in an F-14 or F/A-18, both regulars on the channel, he usually starts on a ground runway or in the air. Very refreshing seeing all those mighty ships in the carrier group.
When I started watching this channel only the dogfights interested me. Now I find myself liking these missions and bvr fights more. Thank you for making content for us
Thank YOU for watching. Much love.
That first MIG-21 kill was SWEET. It looked like he thought you had left the fight and started to recommit on the F-4. Instead of bugging out and heading back to the carrier, you recommitted on the MIG-21 and splash. One of the best kills I’ve seen on this channel.
Dude, you'd be the hero on the carrier after that mission. Really enjoying your content - and I don't even play DCS.
Thank you very much, I appreciate you watching, much love.
Nice landing GS! Now imagine doing it at night with 20 ft swells.. Loving these Vietnam era videos, very well done.
These real mission type of videos are so awesome! Really digging the old school vibes.
Great video GS, would love to see more carrier ops with the F-14
Soon soon.
Thanks!
Thank you very much.
The A-4 was such a marvel! Perfectly suited for attack roles, yet nimble and powerful enough to be the blue angel's ride. Amazing compared to WWII Avengers and Dauntlesses.
Loved the Cat shot and then cutting across the bow of that battleship. Great cinematic moment there. Badass camera work makes up for historical inaccuracy, not that that's your fault.
Great mission too. SAM's and supplies taken out and bragging rights over an F-4 with a beer to boot. Great job in all aspects. Smooth trap at the end as well, especially for someone who doesn't practice them often.
For not practicing carrier landings that was pretty smooth. I know a perfect Landing hits the middle wire but it’s a lot better then I could do. I would have been the fireball on deck. Love the content
Absolutely great take off and landing! And the misson, oof, that went smoothly! Great video, as always!
1st time watching a DCS carrier landing. Pretty cool. We've come a long way from first landing in the water by the carrier and being scooped up with nets, to landing on wooden decks and hooking on to ropes with sandbags tied to them, to now. lol Great vid man. Keep em coming.
Hi! I'd love to see two of Top Gun's best against eachother.
The F-5 against the A-4.
Great vid by the way! :)
I believe it's the venerable mig-28 😂
That's an extremely hard fight for the A4, the F5 is very manoeuvrable, and while the afterburner ain't much to brag about at least it has one. You'll find yourself out of energy really fast in the A4.
That first missile was determined to end the mission early, you got soooo lucky 😂😂😂
Loved the subtle nod to the music of the time 👍
Great to be early for another video from you, I love these vietnam era videos they're fantastic which I'm sure everyone can agree upon.
Just seeing these classic jets especially the Phantom and Mig-21 is awesome, keep it up!
Good mission! I cannot explain it, but for some reason I really love the A-4.
This Marine real likes the A-4 Sim thank you. I'll have to get it! Simpher Fi.
Was an aviation student. Got an opportunity to work on a retired A-4su (A-4 skyhawk singapore version). Absolute beauty of a masterpiece.
My father was XO and CO of one of the last USMC A-4 squadrons in the 80s. I always love playing around with the A-4 in DCS just to get a little taste of what he got to do.
1) even the deck choreography is tight; the shooter hand signals! 2) You got lots of BBs in that group. At least 3 Iowas!
Yeah, I like the mixed missions, too... especially when they're carried out flawlessly, like this one.
Ok this was really cool. This was quite cinematic! Your editing is quite good these days! Watching your videos on my 4k 85” TV is quite glorious!!!😊
The carrier shot on my TV looked amazing!!!
Really would like to see a smaller Vietnam era Intrepid Class carrier with the micro deck form A-4’s and potential F-8 Crusader if that ever gets finished
I love the 60's style rock music in this video. Makes you feel like you're doing a mission in Vietnam.
Love the Scooter! Great video!
It looked like that carrier was being escorted by five Iowa Class Battleships!
Came for theSkyhawk action. Stayed for the Skyhawk action AND the music.
That 2000 lb drop was just beautiful! I'm lovin the videos man keep it up
Favorite GS quote from this episode: "I'm just a little A-4 minding my own business..." :D
I for one would love to see more carrier based missions
This was great fun!
Made that A4 look pretty shiny!! I have a soft spot fo the A4 because we trained on them in Aviation Electrician School in the Navy
I have watched other channels and yours is by the far the best with DCS. I love the explanations you provide and time and effort you put into know the details. Great work, keep it up! For not having practiced A4 carrier landing, you did awesome. Nice job and congrats on 500K + subscribers.
That dive bomb attack was a thing of beauty!
Great video as always!
Can you imagine doing that every day? Kudos for the experience, awesome as usual!
Imagine the amount of times he must have crashed when he first started and look at him now a great pilot
I love the cinematic cutaway shots! Feels like Top Gun! Keep it up!
Good Mission! I am starting to really like your missions much more than just the regular Dogfight!!
#3 wire ! ! ! Nice work ! Fly Navy ! A-4 guys that were flying over the Tonkin Gulf used to joke about their willingness to trade their left testicle for a second engine operating over shark infested waters. Great video.
Only "complaint" I have is that you hooked the first cable on landing, so you came down a little early, but still an excellent landing. Especially considering that you have no real practice landing an A-4 on a carrier. A+
That's a lot of battleships! More than exist, I think.
Loved this style! Would be awesome to see you guys run some multi ship missions too!
I was around A4's when I was on the USS Independence back in 60's. It was a favorite.
You need to use that music or music like it in all your Vietnam era videos now man, it really hit the vibe right on the nose lol. Even the lo-fi mastering on it fits perfectly for the recording quality standards and typical speakers most people in that era would have had on an aircraft carrier. Ain't nobody bringing their high end turntable, Dynaco ST-70, and Klipsch Heresy speakers out on carrier duty unless you're the goddamn admiral or maybe his XO. Ironically that setup I quoted, common place among military audio heads during this time (Klipsch being manufactured in Hope, Arkansas and sold at bases across the country as a symbol of American greatness, with the ST-70 having a similar story as the everyman's tube amp), is actually very similar to what I'm running at home today. High end audio actually has not changed that much since that time, surprising as that may be to most who saw consumer speaker quality jump by leaps and bounds in the same timeframe. The issue has always been money, as with anything.
Anyway audio rant/history lesson aside, great video as always GS! These mods sure are something special
1:10 Wait... wait... wait.... Fly Navy.
The music was a nice touch and seemed authentic to the era.
After a landing like that, the Air Boss would tell you something like: "The center line is to your left there, feel free to use it next time."
Hahaha love the new music during ingress and outro btw!
Dude, that makes me think of GI Joe Snake Eyes. Excellent mission. Stealth without stealth. Hiding in the shadows. Perfect landing.
Was privileged to watch the Blue Angels at Barbers point Hawaii in the early 80s flying the A4. VP-17 82-86
Nice landing there in the "widow maker". Looked smooth as silk.
Outstanding landing 👏
That was a blast! For some reason, though, North Vietnam looks like Vermont in Autumn, right down to the Volvos on the roads.
Wonderfully intense. Very immersive and daren't take my eyes off the screen. And as a side issue, who is the cutie in the photo on your dash!!!???
please keep these types of videos coming, i really enjoy the mission based content like this video!
damn right he owes you a beer
That Mk-84 drop was fabulous!
I adore the A-4 so much, I think it's just by far the prettiest plane I've ever seen. it's cute, like a nice local girl you haven't seen in years if that makes any sense
Very cool carrier takeoff and landing! Nice new music as well. Keep up the great work man!
Loved the music in this! Really added to the mood/feel.
The formation of battleships with the carrier and cruisers is just excellent
Awesome video and a great mission! Time for medals and many beers at the officers club!
I really enjoy this one, I don't need a Raptor or the Viper, this is pure skill of yours.
You would've won multiple medals for that mission. Maybe one of my favorite vids.
I really enjoyed the addition of the music in this video. Hope you keep it up!
3:48 I'm not even playing and I puckered a little bit at that missile. Holy crap you got lucky, lol.
This A-4 videos are truly top content! Love it!
Love the video, so good!
Just love these mission oriented videos!
Wow, battleships? Would love to see that in game.
Pedantic detail point. A-4s weren't launched with a catapult shuttle attached to the nose landing gear. They used a bridle that attached the shuttle to connection points under the wings. Not GS's fault, of course.
fun run, good story and time well spent.
cheers mate
Thanks for watching man, much love.
I call this good timing; sitting down for lunch, and a new G.S. video? It’s gonna be a good lunch break
Hey for never having landed an A4 that was very nice. Looked like a 1 wire though. Doubt I could do it at all.
Digging the music you and Longshot are putting in these Vietnam vids.
Okay, you've got me hooked. That was some excellent flying. I've got the itch. Now how to tell my wife I spent 1500 dollars on flight gear.....
I have fond memories seeing the Blue Angels in their A4's when I was growing up.
In my mind all I could hear is the Fortunate son playing. You are the best, I don't play DCS but I still enjoy your content, keep up the good work.
Cant believe you caught the number three wire!! Great Job
Absolutely loving the F4/A4 content
This is one of the best carrier landings you’ve done 👍🏻
All those parked Cadillacs on the deck in the end is such a beauty.
Love Big J cruising along side.
Very cool! Love this type of video! Keep up the great work!
We need more missions like this bro!! Incredible video
Any landing u walk away from is a good one!
I loved seeing the entire flight!
