Important question I have for you is where and how high do you set your seat height in your general line of sight. This matters for these type of aircraft and their weapon release systems because their predominantly Gunsite line-of-sight dependent thank you
@@williamleadbetter9686 great question! I leave it stock, however I find myself dipping in the seat occasionally to get a good sightline through the gunsight. I’d suggest lowering yourself slightly

Your first startup and takeoff video was so complicated that I worried the entire series would be full of jargon and technical details, and that wouldn't help me actually play the game as a total beginner. but i stuck with them and now I'm successfully flying the scooter around the caucuses and landing like a seasoned veteran. I'm ready to put this beast to the task of annihilating some red army vermin!

That’s a much longer topic using Bombing tables and doing some math. I’ll eventually do a tutorial on that, but take a look at my computer weapon release tutorial and you’ll never have to worry about it!

Hey sport, do hills interfere with the ground radar's solution for computer bombing? I've built a mission around a pop up attack against an artillery firebase on a large hill. While I initially built it around a rockeye attack, I've been forced to switch it to rockets because for some reason, on this hill, LABS makes your bombs fall way past the target every time.
I wouldn’t say they interfere, but it’s certainly a factor. The slant range is dependent on where you grab the ground level, so if you grab it ahead or behind your intended target, and the elevation is significantly different, the weapon release computer will calculate for that point. I have a bombing computer video coming out soon that goes over different techniques. Maybe I’ll include a section about hilly terrain. Another factor could be your dive angle. Too shallow of a dive angle might not give a good target resolution for the radar and result in a mis drop. Bombing is an exact science!
@@Taipan303 yes, however when the gear handle is placed back down, the master arm connection is broken and the nitrogen bottle will eject the round and clear the chamber. I’m not entirely sure how it behaves in the module, but this could lead to a switch conflict and prevent the guns from working on subsequent sorties.
@@SportDCS awesome thanks! Given the attention to detail the team have always shown, I wouldn't be surprised if that is fully modelled. In my case I'll disarm both for landing anyway, since I'm planning to use the same 2-way switch for both.
I'm just learning this mod now and recently discovered the absolute power trip that is loading 171 hydras, setting them to single ripple, and hosing down enemies with high explosive rain. Is it effective? Not really. Does it make me feel like a god? Absolutely.

I think the team has talked with ED about adding the model to the base game, but there are some barriers that are keeping it from happening. It’s truly a shame, but hopefully someday it gets worked out! As for a countermeasures tutorial, that’s a great idea. I might wrap it up into a broader “guide to combat” or “tips and tricks” video down the road
all my shrikes go always dumb as the one you fired at 10:40.. they do not loft and go down instead, I've tried 12.000ft, within 8nm and even closer.. I've never managed to make one work..dunno where's the problem :/
There’s currently a bug that prevents shrikes from working correctly. We’re going to have to wait until ED fixes the bug, or releases the new Shrikes with the configurable seeker heads
Is it normal for the guns to fire with the trigger when I use the Aim 9s? I have to either turn off my guns, or deselect GM ARM in order for my missiles not to fire when I use my guns
Can anybody answer me a qusetion ? im new and got a problem with my sidewinders + guns. when im in the "Bomb & GM arm" mode im supposed to fire my 20mm guns with the trigger and the missles with weapon release or ? but if i select 1 and 5 for sidewinders and got my 20mm loaded i allways shot both 20mm and Aim9 togehter with my triger, instead separated. is there a solution instead of allways turning of my pillons 1 and 5 if i just want to shot my 20mm ?

that sead missile has no range, if you wait to get into range with it you die, and if you launch it from a longer distance it just falls out the sky at some point and does not hit its target
There’s currently a bug with the shrikes where the seeker is inverted. When you get the tone, aim down so that you’re aiming “below” the target and squeeze the trigger. It should track this way
That's where that fkn target is?!?!! Friggin hell I spent literally 4 hours, FOUR HOURS, doing run after run after run trying to figure out where they wanted me to hit by trial and error. Seeing how far I was off each time and trying to get closer and closer. I was positive it was those stupid white containers. Because the F10 communications menu to have them pop smoke on the target doesn't work.
The SEAD mission is also stupid as hell because they tell you not to launch until you are 10NM away, but at 15ish to 20ish NM the fkn SA site fires at you. I hate missions like that. You have literally NOWHERE to hide and do a popup attack either, because they start you on a carrier and direct you to the target entirely over the ocean...

@J Corrêa it’s an air to ground radar only. Any air to air capability is purely for defense

Only thing I didnt get ist how to correctly set up the gun sight when wanting to do an bombing run?
So you can only use the internal guns once? How does the nitrogen bottle thing work?
You get about 3 arming cycles with the nitrogen bottle on board. Every time you turn them “off” it clears the round from the breech.
@@SportDCS there's no timeout? We can just arm with master arm on and leave on until RTB?

Likely not in the near-term. Guided weapons need access to the SDK, which isn’t available for mods

My shrikes are always just nose diving into the ground even if I have a tone when firing
Unfortunately they’re broken on ED’s end! Hopefully they get fixed soon
