- During one day I switched on the camera to let you follow on a day at my Siberian Husky Kennel.
How hard work could it be to run a sled dog kennel? Is it just cuddling with cute husky puppies, posting Instagram pictures and drinking coffee OR what is it like? Is the dream life always a simple life?
Join me for one day in this video with the daily routines such as feeding, training, preparing for dog sledding tours and much more.

JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA is a small guide company who offer outdoor tours in Jokkmokk, Swedish Lapland all around the year. During the winter we do mostly dog sled tours and summertime it’s canoe, hiking tours and wildlife safaris. We, Matti Holmgren and Stina Svensson own and run Jokkmokkguiderna. We live year-round with our working Siberian Huskies and Border Collies in Jokkmokk, North of the Arctic Circle.

It is very hard work what you must do every day. But i think the beautiful nature and the dogs makes everything good.

I am just in awe of the sheer strength this woman must possess and to do all that hard work with such a joyful attitude. She clearly loves her life and those pups! I hope her husband realizes what a good person he is married to. I have all I can do to spend 8 hours caring for a toddler and 8 animals daily! I'm just blown away by this video! I💜

Of course I know that Stina is super. It's lots of hard days when you are alone at the kennel. The temperature drops to under -40C and you still had to do the work.
What Stina didn't show on this video is that she probably also managed to answer some emails, organise some bookings and answer in the telephone... :-)

@@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA I only wish I could be a fraction of the woman you're wife is. I am truly a fan of your channel after witnessing all she does - and no she did not show the extra things she does "just" the kennel things. LOL
I can promise you that sleeping well during the nights. :-)
Stina work hard and she is strong but remember that a women is not weaker than a man! Lots of women don't think that they can do things like driving cars with trailer, driving snowmobiles or using chainsaws. That's not man job.
We have a culture problem that we classify because of the gender and not because of personality, will and skills.
Stina have a lot of will and during the years she have developed lots of skills.

To take care of a baby and 8 animals with different needs I would imaging also is very hard work. I have no children myself only 53 four-legged babies ;-) . Take care and be proud of yourself for what you achieve 💗 ! /Stina

Tycker ni har bra ordnat för hundarna, framförallt hur ni kan släppa ut dom i en separat stor lekhage, de har det bra hos er!
De flesta jag sett har enbart "bo" hagar, och därifrån får de oftast komma enbart för träning / turer.
Jag ska försöka besöka er och förhoppningsvis följa med ut på en tur, kanske hjälpa er med vovvarna :).

Some dogs Lowe to work but som individuals don't. The once who don't like this is dogs that we find new home for. Homes that's better than our lifestyle for that individ.
BUT... sometimes people contact us because they bought a huski and get problems... They got a kind of a workaholic dog and can't keep it. Sometimes this dogs love the way of living that we offer.

What?! Are you say that huskies can also be lazy couch potatoes? :D I’d like to trade my crazy huskies with your lazy ones then...
My huskies never pull weight or train before, we tried to mush with him on a bike, he absolutely hated it! But it’s not because it’s tiring for him, it’s just too boring for him... he prefers way much to chase deer and wild animals.... is there a chance to train him pull or mush at this point? TT TT

Big sled compared to the Iditarod.
The sled I'm using in this video is a tourist sled which we take up to 4 passangers on. We have other sleds as well also sleds like they use in Iditarod. /Stina
You have beautiful dogs you should feed them in bowls that way you know they all ate:).
They work hard so they should be feed good.
Thank you! All the dogs get their main meal in the evening as you can see in the end of the video. In the morning it's more like a snack but we make sure that the ones "who need a bit more" also get that but it doesn't show in the video. /Stina
