@@ArtsandCraftsTI I was actually wondering for the MWK, since that is what you were using in this video. I am assuming it is less than tack fuse, but wondering what time to start with? I have 800W
@@BJEXUM Hi. Its too difficult to say because it depends on microwave wattage, type of mwk. Generally I dont firepolish in mwk. Also I dont full fuse in mwk unless it is something made from frit or small pieces of glass, again for the same reason. However, I know some people use 30% power fuse for a few minutes, then increase to 50% etc but its something you have to play around with. To try to avoid breakages. Hope that helps :)
@@ArtsandCraftsTI Thank you. I really love the look of these fused glass beads. I was hoping we had the same wattage so I had a better idea of the time I needed to use in my own microwave kiln but I use a 1,000 watt. Any suggestion as to how much time I should try first?
@@OleLittleMe If you have the smaller mwk then start at 4 mins. Then its a bit of trial and error because of the different variables eg microwave wattage, kiln size, how cold the kiln is (eg if its the first fuse of the day then its really cold). Good luck :)
I have a question, why does my textured dicro dreak apart when it's covered with any other glass, including clear. not all does but often the one that have a larger random type pattern.
Hi Rhonda. I would imagine, when you add clear or other glass you might be exceeding the 6mm height. In this case the glass will spread so it reduces to 6mm in height. By spreading the base of the dichroic piece is probably moving faster than the dichroic coating, causing the dichroic coating to split. I am no scientific expert and am happy to be told if I am wrong. So try a piece that is exactly 6mm high and see if it breaks apart or not. Hope this helps. :)
These may break or crack due to compatibility issues with the glass. While they are pretty, you might be better off softening the edges in the kiln, than using epoxy resin to hold the pieces together. It's far safer unless you know for certain that the glass is compatible. You should never sell glass that is from incompatible glasses.
Hi. Thanks for you comments. Within each individual piece the glass is compatible. I am not sure if you watched all the video but I have not glued them with epoxy, they are all fused. I only use glue for the bails.
I was wondering what is your time for fire polish?
Hi. thanks for your comment. I have added my schedules to the description section. :)

Hello, thank you for making these videos, they really help me. I was wondering, how many watts is your microwave?
Hi. Thank you for your comment. Its 800 watts :)

How did u figure out if the beads were of compatible glass?
Hi. I only used ones from the same batch. I didnt mix any because its not possible to tell the coe. Hope that helps. :)
