Hi Cath. Thanks for your comment. Because the metal is encased in the mwk it is safe. The only reason you cant put metal in a microwave oven normally is because the microwaves bounce off the metal back into the microwave oven itself which is dangerous. In a mwk the mwk absorbs the microwaves to create the heat, they do not pass through the mwk, so do not reach the metal. Hope this helps :)
Hi Ilene. I have had it a long time and it has worn off but I think its 700 watt. Just to say the size of your microwave kiln will also affect the timings. I had a smaller one originally and the fusing was much faster in that. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your process. I was especially interested in how you used the dremel cutting wheel. Approximately how long did you do the firepolish & was it on full power? Inquiring minds want to know😊. Thanks a bunch.
Hello Gunner. I dont remember where I got it from it was a long time ago, sorry but it is called MagicFuse. I used to have one of the small fuseworks ones and I used to get a lot of breakages. I find the magicfuse one is more controllable with less shocking to the glass. :)
They are called Dupont kevlar power of performance . I found them here on ebay usa www.ebay.com/itm/New-100-Kevlar-DuPont-Fiber-Cloth-Glove-Yellow-Cut-Resistant-Power-Performance-/224008455296 and these on ebay uk www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Safety-Gloves-Industrial-Home-Work-Use-Made-In-Kevlar-Cut-Resistant-All-Sizes/124281699397?hash=item1cefc43c45:g:45IAAOSwKX1gT0-l seem to be the same. Hope it helps :)
Hello Kathy. I use E6000, please see my video number 11 which shows you how I do the gluing for the best results. Also in video 3 I show where I get my bails very cheaply and how I choose what bails to use. :)
Hi Shane. When you have rough edges on a piece (after grinding for example), a fire polish literally polishes the piece to make it smooth again without changing the shape of the piece. Hope that helps :)
Hi Lyn. I used one once and it broke. However, I know it is possible to use one because many people do. I would just advise to heat gently to start off with, maybe at 30% or 40% or 50% heat for a few minutes, and gradually increase. The alternative is stainless steel cookie cutters which you can use in the mwk. :)
Hello Grazia. Thank you for your comment. You need to fire polish it in the kiln. Details in my video and schedule in the description. You must soak it first in vinegar and water as detailed in the video too. Hope this helps
Unless you know what your glass is, you would have to experiment to see if each piece is compatible with each other piece. The most common coes are 90 coe and 96 coe and they don't play well together. Bullseye, for example, sells 90 coe glass. Spectrum (now Oceanside) is normally 96 coe.
Thank you for sharing the process!💕
Thanks for this informative vid
You are welcome. thanks for the comment :)
Excelente
thank you
Thanks for interesting and informative video. You mentioned using stainless steel cookie cutter won t that cause sparks in microwave. Thanks

Very nice. How much do you like the grinder you have? I've been looking at them and was just wondering.
Thank you. Yes it is okay, it does the job :)
Thank you. This has made me excited to get started.
Hi Lyn. Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it :)
Hi can you tell me what power the mwk kiln was on. Thanks mine is 800w and does 100%/80%/50/30%
Thanks
Hi. Thanks for your comment. 100% :)
Very interesting, ty. Curious as to the output wattage of your microwave. thanks

Hi Judi. Thanks for your comments. The firing schedule for the fire polish is above in the description :)
Verry good👍👍👍🤣
Thank you Ben, much appreciated. :)
what solution were you putting the glass into
Hi Kim. ratio 3-1 water to vinegar. It doesnt have to be exact, just guess, it still works :)
Interesting! Where did you get the microwave kiln from?

Can I ask what pieces with the Dremel do you do.
Hi Chelsea. I use a dremel diamond wheel to cut. You can see how I do it in video 6. Hope this helps :)
What are the gloves you wear?

I had some luck with heating up a pendant to get the bail off. I put it in the oven at 275 degrees farenheit for 25 minutes.
Hi Judi. Many thanks for sharing that information. I will give it a try :)
How long did you fire polish for ??
Hi Gwen I have put the firing schedule in the description for ease of reference. Hope this helps :)
Does anyone know if you can use a microwave kiln to do copper enamelling?
Please tell me what glue you use to glue the bails on
Hello Kathy. I use E6000, please see my video number 11 which shows you how I do the gluing for the best results. Also in video 3 I show where I get my bails very cheaply and how I choose what bails to use. :)
I don’t understand the fire polish, can you please explain?

Have you ever used a casting mold in the microwave?

Do you have a video with the cookie cutter ?
Ciao ti seguo nel canale e mi sono cimentata nella smerigliatura di un un ovale ma il bordo rimane opaco come lucidarlo grazie!!!

@@ArtsandCraftsTI grazie sei stata gentilissima
Thank you❣️
You’re welcome 😊
Can you fire any kind of glass or only fuse glass, bc I have tons of stain glass
Hi Mellisa. I dont see why not, provided all the glass is the same coe. I dont use stained glass personally, maybe someone can comment further.

I love the bobbies.
