Tom Bowman I’m so glad I’m not the only one, his music on Titanic, The perfect storm & Avatar is truly masterpieces. He deserved much more credit than he got! R.I.P

Mr.Tom Bowman, i really miss the Great composer and i love him too but you need to know that God create the mind of music for all the composers not James alone by his mind....james begin learning the music when he was kid because of his Musical mind that is given as a gift from God to him and for every composers else....God bless you

Every note written. Every film enhanced by his artistry. James Horner will be remembered for his wondrous memorable melodies and the emotional magic he created that touched us all with feelings that we didn't even know we had within us. For this, we'll for ever be grateful for knowing this composer James Horner through his ability to touch our lives in such remarkable ways.

The classical radio station I used to listen to stopped their program to announce that he had died....they had only done that once before in all the decades I listened to that station. They held James Horner in that high of a regard. They spent the next hours playing his gorgeous music....in remembrance and respect of him and his beautiful genius. I wept through most of it...losing him was just too hard, too heartbreaking. He was one of the last of the greatest of film composers. I miss him very, very much. He is irreplaceable. 😢❤

My whole life (30 years old) I've caught myself humming Land Before Time, Fievel, Field of Dreams, Titanic, Braveheart...etc. Next to John Williams these guys have cemented these movies into my soul. As a kid you don't realize the emotional training you're getting from these great movies with the help of these supernatural film scores. Honestly, the music to these movies is like the main actor... and within a few notes I'm transported back to a time and place when these movies took over my world for 1-2 hours. Hopefully more people will bring that same gift to future movies.

There are artists who will never die, Jamses Horner and John Berry, who left us a short time ago, for example, are among these ... infinite and almost magical melodies, able to drag our soul among the stars to cancel time

If something can make me cry easily then it's James Horner's music. Hard to believe that he is already gone. R.I.P. Maestro. For me the greatest composer ever and the biggest musical inspiration.

Straight up. If you remove his score from Braveheart and Titanic I wouldn't get emotional.

as rated as he was, I still feel he was incredibly underrated. Hans Zimmer is for sure complete brilliance, but I believe James hit your heart more in a more emotional, intimate beautiful way.. These are all of my favorite ever films that I will take to my end.. notably Avatar and my greatest, Braveheart. Thank you James, for the soundtrack to my childhood and forever thereafter. You are sorely missed, and unbelievably legendary and endearing.

    Mr. Horner,
We miss you. We are sad that you had to leave us. I am sad you left. Thank you for all the
music that you shared with us. Soundtracks are magical and you made me feel what the characters felt in the moment. You created good magical atmospheres full of humanism and simplicity. We recognized patterns from pieces past that you added to newer scores. This became your signature and when we hear it we knew it was you. It is hard to say goodbye. But we know that you are in a better place writing music for God.

So incredibly moved by this. I've grown up with his music and have learnt so much and grown as a person through his creation. It makes me desperately unhappy that his death was overlooked and unheard by most when the whole world was mourning Bowie and Rickman. I know they are both incredible and have been an outstanding influence in their fields and I am truly upset we have lost such amazing contributors to the arts but James Horner was the 'behind the scenes' hero who nobody saw and I just desperately want people to appreciate what he has done for film music and film itself. The score makes the film even if we realise it or not but we would not feel the things we feel without it and I hope he's gone to a better place. Fly on, Maestro.

Couldn't agree with you more..I've concluded that the musical score in a movie is what MAKES the movie..So underrated and under- appreciated..I've been listening and loving James' works since the 1980's and he will be truly missed..One of my favorite composers of all time..RIP..

It still breaks my heart when acknowledging this amazing composer's death. I grew up listening to him, and was musically one of my heros. His work will live on for years and with it a part of him. Godspeed James Horner.

His music has such beautiful, epic sweeps. He does a wonderful job at creating "emotional taffy" where the emotion expands, then contracts, and it's bound to take you somewhere. I don't always know where he's taking me, but I always feel safe with his music. The grandeur of his music combined with the sense of safety, I find that I'm able to process emotionally challenging stuff while listening to his music. (I fear I'm not making much sense). He was just a truly gifted, gifted man!!!!

i was working in magaluf in 2015, watching brave heart with friends and said you ca hear the same instruments used in titanic for this. My friends took the piss because there clueless then finally said yeah i was right. i sat on the bed chilling out and looked up james horner to prove that he made the brave heart music and titanics to prove it. It popped up on news feeds that james horner had just died in a plane crash only TWO DAYS! ago b4 i looked that up. Honestly i was so shocked. i mean even the odds of it were rivalling. plane crash of all things. lost a human, but fuck me a extremely talented 1. It all comes to directors..but who are they compared to the legends that compose the music. The music makes at least 80% of the movie, controls emotions, mood the lot. this guy made some tracks that i sang in my head and didnt know he was behind them. So many shit heads in the world and we loose the best ones. aw my godtyping this as if he made the casper song. James horner you legend rip!
