When I heard a NOM, the greeter introduced the celebrant as priest presider. My jaw dropped when I heard it but then I did not try to correct the greeter after mass because the greeter was someone who doesn't take any corrections however charitable you can make it for her.
@@RPlavoTraditional as in the Tridentine rite which was in place for centuries before Vatican 2. It’s not about a period, it’s about the faith. The Sacraments. Transubstantiation. The Sacrifice of the Mass.
What were the "good reasons" why the night vigil was changed to morning. "Vigil" means to stay awake at a time when it is customary to sleep so the change to daytime doesn't serm to make sense.
the very first celebrations of the mass in the first second and third centuries were all done in the vernacular until it was decided to stick with the roman latin at nicea. in distant locations, the vernacular stayed the norm especially in the near east.
what i did not like about mass in the early 1950's. a priest could say a daily mass in latin without any homily, in 20 minutes flat. as a grammar school student, i could stand out side the church as my dad dropped me off as he drove to work. and mass went and was done that fast. nobody except the altar boys participated. the congregants were just there. i happen to like the current participation of the congregation.
I am 70 and never heard a Priest say Mass in 20 minutes flat; I don’t know where you grew up but that is highly unusual. Not sure how a Priest could do that even if the church were empty. And, at the Last Supper, Jesus did not say “Hey, I would like some participation here.” What he said was: “Do this in remembrance of me.” So, you may like the participation of the congregation, but the service you go to is more of a Protestant service than the Sacrifice of the Mass and a reverent attendance at Mass. You can get participation if you go to a restaurant. Or a party. Mass is for the Lord.
@@Carol-wo3jo you are younger than me. i grew up in san francisco and the daily mass at the parish school and church there had 8 am masses. no homily. no sermon. very few communion recipients and no need to slow down for parish responses as the altar boys could respond rapidly to the priest. other folks on other sites have agreed with me, that was a true occurrence and then we all agreed. yeah one of the things that needed reforming as the priests were only doing the basic rote type low mass. it really did happen and not just in my own backyard. other people did respond and agree they had had similar experiences.

The Catholic Church needs a new Pope that will restore the true traditional Church...Pope Francisco is a disaster..
The catholic church needs a.true pope, Francis is a false pope.
I’m hoping and praying for Leo XIV.
Traditional from which period? Standing around, communion in hand, cup, no Filioque?
you mean anti-pope francis as heretics are no longer catholic much less pope

I remember when there was a second Confiteor right before Communion. I remember the changes in Holy Week. I was an Altar Boy in third grade.
Thank you Father. Viva Cristo Rey! Now and forever.
