  • Are you confused as to what happened to the Roman Catholic Mass after Vatican II? Why is Latin removed? Why is the priest facing the people?
Listen to what Bishop Santay has to say on the history of it all.

👍3 characteristics of The New Mass/ Lutheranism
    1. Denial of the supernatural
    2. Evolution of dogma; that dogma evolves
    3. That the basis of religion is one’s personal experience with God = focus on us. Why priests face the people. All Protestantism.

And we can see that it is a protestant mass under the veil of a Catholic mass. It is more protestant than Catholic with all the feel good guitar hymns, hillsong music sometimes with all the rock band accompaniment, liturgical dance, inculturation, ecumenism, lay lectors especially women, female altar servers, extraordinary ministers of the Holy Eucharist, and communion in the hand. We also get the orans posture by the laity, joining hands during the Our Father, and coming soon deaconesses.

It's man centered mass build on entertainment & tolerance to the world and not of GOD...

Have had the privilege of attending 3 Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered by +Santay. He gives amazing sermons & is a good Confessor. Pius XII lost his office in 1956,the "changes" were noxious & harmful.

Hello! I'm just a traditional Catholic layman. CSPV is the Congregation of St. Pius the Fifth, which was established by Bp. Kelly who was ordained by Archbishop Lefebvre.

I remember serving Mass for the good bishop right after he was ordained a priest. So new he still needed a cheat sheet for the prayers after Mass.

The priest does NOT change the bread and wine! THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES THE CHANGING. The priest calls upon the Holy Spirit to come and perform this miracle.

I humbly ask what does the C in CSPV stand for? When was the change made.
SPV was satisfactory for years. If I had to guess I would say it relates to something regarding
    property, incorporation/tax free etc etc

It's the Congregation of St. Pius V. It seems the original SSPV group is only made up of the former SSPX priests that broke away in the 80s, but the seminary and newly ordained priest are under the CSPV

The Congregation of St Pius V was formed by Bishop Kelly as a "canonical" religious group that lives in common, with a certain rule, with the intent of offering reparation for offenses against the Sacred Heart. The priests, seminarians, and religious brothers pray in common, as well as service the spiritual/sacramental needs of the various missions.
The priests of the SSPV retained their old parishes and do similar things, but do not live in common, and are not under the same rule. If I understand correctly, a young man could choose to be ordained as a priest in the SSPV and not join the Congregation...but I could be wrong.

yes my father was a public speaker, so santay sounds like the evangelical super pastor in the stadium church invoking conspiracy theories. . that would be scare mongering about rational change. .
i left the church in 1966. i checked out all the additions and subtractions the rest of the world was working with ie ecumenism. i wandered back in 1980 and decided to catch up by taking the RCIA class and realized i was very still knowledgeable but spiritually i was a cultural catholic.
it did not hold the threat or guilt ridden words over my soul anymore.
i truly loved growing up in the tlm. catechism and all. but i can say that rigidity and lack of adaptation to a dynamic world is a disservice to a church community.
after coming back to the church after 55 years, i can say there are some hard core central ideas that bind the church together. incarnation, transubstantiation. here linguistics translates better in some ways than others. they can understand and the word was made flesh, this is my body, this is my blood. WORDS have meaning. this was a reason i came back to the church. because words meant little in the 1970's to me. words carry meaning and essence. i glad i took linguistics.
i like the simplicity the mass in the local language, the participation of the congregation and the increased intimacy of the novus ordo. this is very inclusive.
the trad. mass is a gross over decorated ostentation presentation that lords itself as super over the top of congregation. this excludes lots of people. =disengagement
people fear change . the tabernacle should not be the focus of the mass, the eucharist in the celebration of the mass should be the focus. the tabernacle could be on the floor. the mass is not the tabernacle. this is making too much of decoration.
people again fear change and feel horribly threatened by change. think of the war chaplains saying mass on the back of trucks. field chaplains saying mass on produce boxes. other chaplains saying mass on rocks , on igloo flats of ice, on tables in isolated safe houses.
    simplicity is best.
your accusation of modernism exists because the practices of the church at that time in the 16rth century was highly corrupt. it has been acknowledged that luther's criticisms were valid considering the greed, and unethical and very uneducated church clerics. he wanted to call it out not break away. but the cronyism caused him to move further away.
you exaggerate the message of the changes of v2. you incite fear of change. you make it to be that something broke. actually it is a healing of seriously damaged credibility of the church. and yes i was there. i am old enough to have seen it all happen. i was in college when stuff changed. i was fascinated. . i am very happy with the changes. belief and faith did not change.. for me it became deeper and more personal. a good thing.

So what happened in 1958 with Cardinal Guisepe Siri is good in your eyes and Angelo Roncalli who followed in Cardinal Mariano Rampolla is good? Even if he was a freemason which then doesn't make him Catholic
