This was so good. I’m so lonely and depressed as a 47 year old single man not to mention how lost in depression and addiction I was as a teenager. Talks like these give me hope.
“We’re together in feeling alone.” Jesus is always right there with you brotha, always ready for a response. Stay close to Him and we can endure anything. God bless. Peace be upon you. 🙏🏼❤️✝️👑
I'm so grateful for this talk - especially where the conversation turns to effeminacy. I have been struggling really hard with my inability to sacrifice present pleasure for future goods: heavy social media use, binge-eating, spending my savings, constantly consuming RUclips and Spotify, and still within shouting distance of a long-term porn addiction; these things are making me less effective at work, which is already bad because I've taken no steps toward a career that can support myself and my future family, which is coming to the forefront now that I'm courting a girl I may marry. They're even preventing me from enjoying higher present pleasures, like the incredible books on my reading list and my choir commitments. I need a real step back to reorient my mind and retrain my brain. After this podcast, I'm going to try to unplug - my past attempts to claw my life back from these high dopamine sources have not typically lasted long, so please say a prayer for me! Jesus, I trust in You. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. St Joseph, St Augustine; pray for me.
I hear you brother! Social media addition is very, very real. I'm starting to realise I may be addicted as well. Wishing you all the strenght you need to reclaim yourself!
You are right to repair these addictions and lack of productivity. Your future wife would not want to support you so you can play with your phone and not provide what she would if you worked to support the family.
Genuinely concerned with how many married adults need this Chastity conversation. What a beautiful conversation. I listened to Jason Evert’s talk on the transgender crisis at a conference in Iowa and was dumbstruck by the compassion with which he spoke for these people genuinely lost in their gender identity. Here again he shares his compassion for lost souls that most in our Church want to dismiss and mock. What a gentlemen in the way he speaks for men, women, and children. Incredible, thank you and I’m making my way through Love & Responsibility and your JPII book! Hoping to bring this to our youth the way JPII and you have Jason! God Bless!

I just recently took an interest in jason's work and ministry, and two things caught my attention, his miraculous medal, and his topic of chastity. My son is in a public high school and I was wondering if you (Jason Evert) can have chastity talks on public high schools. i think these high school kids really need these talks.
I absolutely love these long form discussions. The deeper conversations are so much better than the "short" 1 hr interviews/episodes other channels put out that never really have a chance to get to the heart of so many of these topics. I'm only about an hour in so far, byt when Jason talked about telling people that they have a capacity to control themselves, it made me so glad to hear someone put that idea so clearly. I have a neighbor with a 9yo son who has some pretty serious behavioral issues, and while I value my friendship with her, it's really tough because every time her son gets in trouble, she makes the excuse that "he can't control himself." While I love her, and her son, and want to maintain our friendship I also see how much of an impact his negative behavior has on my kids. If she keeps telling him that it's because he has no capacity to control himself I can see him continuing his spiral into dangerous behaviors to the point where I can't safely have him around my own children. It breaks my heart to think that we'll see that happen sooner rather than later, and I just pray that things will turn around for them and we won't have to do that.
This was an absolutely beautiful conversation. I’m so glad I have this channel to go to for long form meaningful & faithful conversations. So many great topics discussed here. Very enriching! Thank you both. 🙏🏻✝️❤️
From a 22-year-old girl: thank you so much for that conversation! It truly moved me and kinda healed something. I love your long-form content and it has already helped me so much in my faith. Please keep it up! Also, now I really wanna go on Jason’s hike in Switzerland xD (I’m from Germany, so it’s really cool that he plans trips outside the US)
Something not mentioned in the section about sex drive disparities between husband and wife is that low sex drive can come from hormonal issues as well, it is not always psychological.
I went to Our Lady under her title "Our Lady of Sorrows" over some questions of discernment. I asked her "what saint(s) can help us out in our spiritual, moral, and political struggles?" She did not speak to me, but I had an interior allocution, and the answer is Saint Mary Magdalene, and Saint John Paul II.
In general I agree that men should make the first move. But sometimes we're a little clueless. My wife invited me to DQ during a break in our grad school class. We married 7 months later. After 33 years and 11 children , I think we turned out okay :)
Can someone from a Catholic channel please talk about sex after menopause please. It seems to be a taboo subject. Yet, it can cause massive sexual conflict. Whether the woman takes HRT or not, sex drive can be totally gone for some reason, by no fault of their own, yet men still expect her to act like nothing has happened. Men divorce over this because he can't get his leg over as much as he used to or at all, but he takes it so personally. So many of us in the situation and agree, but no help given and no one discusses it on a platform like this. It drives me insane Thanks. I can't be the only one.
The CC is hyper-focused on YA and I cannot stand one more discussion or event planned for YA or engaged people. Widows exist, never-married people exist. I’m so over it.
@lindabeeler6681 I can understand why they do focus on YA, tbvh, because the world is so fallen with temptation to "fit in" with the secular world! So I get it. But I feel it's discussed to death now and a focus on mature marriages. Love deepens as you get older between a couple but how it is expressed changes. It's not for worse but just different. I'm fed up at not hearing what the CC has to say to support married couples who have been together for a long time. I have to say here too that I am converting to Catholicism via the RCIA right now, and I am definitely happy to be doing so, but many folks may disagree with me but natural family planning would definitely had been my approach to family life. Any more than 4 kids would be financially and mentally crippling. I don't know what the CC church stance is on family planning via natural means using the woman's cycle but I feel God was clever in designing a woman to be fertile for only a "few days " per month. Most Catholic folks who seem to be very adamant that with a "just keep the babies' coming" attitude are ironically male . Very, very easily self righteous too when it's not them that has to carry and give birth over and over I have x3 children. (2 are twins). I used contraception (in secular ignorance). I discovered I had a misshaped womb that could cause massive life and death issues to either me or a baby in the womb. Because of this, my husband had a vasectomy because he didn't want to see me suffer AGAIN. I was in hospital with the twins for two weeks with a paralysed bowl. I know now in CC eyes what he did is a sin, but you know what, he did it because me getting pregnant again would possibly kill me and leave my babies without a mother. I also had an ectopic pregnancy in between firat born and my twins, and that nearly killed me, and I received a chemo injection to help remove the ectopic. I was in so much pain and a complete mess, and to top it all off, I was in hospital with the ectopic pregnancy at the same time as my father dying of cancer. So yeah, I am incredibly grateful to God for the 3 children I have, but I have nearly died twice. In fact , my first born was also a C section as the cord was round her neck, and she was breach due to my misshapen womb. So when people judge people for family planning or to stop a pregnancy through contraception or a pregnancy have some grace please. My husband did what he thought waa right to help me and to ensure his children had a mother. I'm now 53 years of age and post menopause and menopause has been downright awful. Yeah, I shouldn't have used pharmaceutical contraception I see why now but hells teeth..... what else could we had done to keep me alive?? Now I come on channels like this which teach so much but it's all very black and white, no shades of grey answers and I'm afraid life isn't black and white. And now I see very little discussion about menopause. Some women get horrendous vaginal atrophy that leaves them in horrendous pain so are they to get a "tut tut, you are denying your husband your body " (cos let's face it most men just want a good shag sorry it's true ) and many feel"unloved" because a woman no longer feels inclined to have sex due to vaginal atrophy of just hormone changes? Maybe tgats God's way of saying "your done, your inclination to procreate is no longer needed "? Who knows. Some women are lucky and don't have massive menopausal changes bless them. Many men divorce their wives because there is no sexual gratification or enough gratification as they see it or wish to see it because of menopause. I hear of men married for 35 years plus who ditch their wives for a younger model for tgis very reason because a younger woman will give him sexual gratification and thus, feel truly loved! It's all bollocking of course as they let sex rule their wants, what they feel they deserve. So yeah, I am too sick to death of hearing what tge CC have to say about YA and sex and marriage. What about us folks who are converting to RCIA and married a long time, Catholic marriages that are together 25 plus years and indeed widows. Well I have been married to an agnostic for 20 years and it has emotionally been incredibly painful. I love him still but I definitely married the wrong man. But I took my vows seriously.
It may be time for a return of the Pagan religion and the Goddess. The earth has been stripped and is suffering. Women are often abused and suffering. The God prevailed in the Dark Age. Now as we are on the cusp of a quantum age maybe the Goddess will come back again and the earth and women will be nourished and both will flourish again.
That bit about the female brain and what how their amygdala activates.... I wish every man could understand that one fundamental difference. As a woman, with adhd, it sucks not being able to quiet that part of my brain when I just want to be present in those moments of intimacy 😟
It would be nice to have a posted list of the books recommended to read that usually come out of the discussions. Other than that it was a beautiful discussion. May God bless y’all.
I've been rereading his encyclicals ( which came the day before his feast day) & his papacy has been on my mind a lot, & then this video pops up in my feed 😂 The spirit of Saint Pope John Paul II is still very much alive & present thank God ❤
Matt, please stop interrupting your guests!!!!! I love watching but it is frustrating to want to hear the person's full thought and have you distract him and he doesn't finish or talk over him with your comments about what he is saying. Thank you Jason for all you do and sharing that on this program!
It annoys me when the guest is on a roll and he feels the need to halt things, switch topics, and ask something totally unrelated to what they’re saying
I’m conflicted here. Yes, there are inopportune moments he moves the conversations flow, perhaps it’s because he is being as engaged with the person in the moment as he can be. I’d hate for Matt to not be his authentic self, but man, I’ve thought this same thing many a time. This is probably my favorite thing online outside of the USCCB daily readings and LotH resources.
26:54 is the greatest testimony I have ever heard. It was so well put and acted, and somehow even funny. When even saints struggle..what can I ask for???
Thank you for the discussion on marriage and annulment. I am going through OCIA and my husband divorced and have petitioned the tribunal for my conversion.
I work at a Catholic school, the priest stopped me from taking the kids to Adoration, and wants them to go to confession with their families, so he won't hear their confessions. I have many students who are disappointed in no longer being able to go to Adoration, and some that ask to go to confession. Depressing. I put my family in a tough financial spot to serve the Church, and now I cannot fully do that.
@@adiesumpermariam4111 he didn't say for adoration. I asked my boss if it was the Lady from the super rich family complaining about the kids being there, and my boss said, "I can't say." While nodding her head yes .
Where I live (western europe) it is standard practise for school nurses to have c*ndoms that they can give to students who ask for them... and this is in primary schools. there is mandatory s*x education that starts in primary school (STARTS WHEN WE ARE 10 YEARS OLD) and ends in highschool and in high school most schools send their students to "health centers" where they give even more detailed information and they give out even more free c*ndoms. this is state regulated as well as 85% of schools are public schools. People think america is having it bad, but time and time again I see huge debates and fighting going on over there on degenerate law changes that I know for a fact are just passing under the radar where I live, without people voting or knowing about them until they already pass. The current degenerate state of western europe is a result of leaving Catholicism.
I grew up in Jamaica convent and boarding school.....was very lucky....grounded sensible and reverent religous exposure by American and European nuns and priests. When I came to Australia I was very surprised at the crazy things that were being taught by the Irish nuns and priests. A very different exposure to religon

The ethics of professional martial arts (MMA, Boxing) has come up several times in these podcasts (timestamp)-1:48:28. I think a debate over whether they are ethical to engage in/watch-for-entertainment would be interesting! Trent Horn has done some work defending it, maybe he can participate.
It really astonished me hearing how people don't see the vehemence and violence of people (who literally proclaim they're satanists and witches) reacting to a CHASTITY TALK and react by being angry at the chastity speaker. 🤦♂️ He is absolutely right. People like that take the spiritual battle more seriously most of us do and should. Saint Michael pray for us.🙏🕊
I pray daily for my children’s spouses. They are either out there right now being formed for them, or their future spouse is Christ Himself. Either way, they need prayer.
I have testimony about this. When I was a preteen/teen, I struggled with a particular suffering, and at some point around age 14, I decided I was going to offer it up every single time for my future spouse and our marriage (or my future in a convent, I was still discerning). I married a man six years older than me at the age of twenty. He had come back to the fullness of the Catholic Church after reading an Ed Feser book (The Last Superstition) that randomly caught his eye at the library. That conversion happened when he was twenty, right around the time that fourteen year old me decided to buckle down and pray for him. I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better man. God is good. His Providence is everywhere. Your children need to pray AND fast for their future vocation (marriage or religious life). The graces are enormous.
I wish that there were more young men willing to come on this show and talk about how they dealt with dating problems. I have never connected with Jason or Matt or Trent when it comes to dating because they to some extent they just look at dating through the lens of what they experienced.
There was one member of the U.S. Women's soccer team who honestly said that they purposely played the Under 15 boys team because they wanted to play a tougher team than any women's team they could play, so they could improve.
Some times low sex drive could be (if everything else is going well) lack of nutrients and saturated fat. Saturated fat is necessary for hormone production.
Great talk on the JP II Trails. I am hoping one day for the Catholic Church to turn its site on women who are no longer young enough to join a YA group. Please consider women over the age of 50 or 60. We are out here, alone. Widowed or single for whatever reason. Or married. But over the age of 50. There is NOTHING. Please.
What a perspective. Todays warriors are battling the devil out in the wide open face to face. The saints of long ago when it was still in the shadows are proud of you.
My wife and I were going through divorce process 5 months ago. 4 months later she cancelled the divorce but she refused to put her rings on, fully move back in. It gave me anxiety that it didn’t really seem like she is serious about fixing the marriage. At one point she wants a separation because she hates the tension. What should I do?
I need an annulment but it’s so confusing and scary because my marriage now is perfect and Godly yet the first marriage was in the Church. There was addiction and alcoholism and infidelity before and during the first marriage so I hope it would be annulled.
As a missionary, I had a mission president who said “You can’t stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop it from building a nest in your hair.” I’m sure it was not original, but it did help to separate the temptation to sin from active participation in or even embracing sin.
The Catholic Church is the place to be. The Gospel message is preached daily. The doctrine, is the same, far and wide. Keep your confusion, my church has one accord. Worldwide the faith, has come to be. The largest branch of Christianity. I just adore the eucharist too. Keep your confusion, I want that Catholic truth. sung to the tune of Green Acres.
The combat sports question is interesting. While I agree with what Matt and Jason said I think there can be nuances. I would say that many people who do combat sports need them in many ways. It helps keep them disciplined. I’d rather give people an out and a safe space to enact consensual violence against each other. Yes it’s an out for a base urges both for participants and spectators, but perhaps channeling that into something competitive and showing sportsmanship is better than the alternative. I think the world would be a much more violent place than it already is if combat sports wasn’t there to give some people an out.

I just finished the last few minutes. I will be praying for this chastity ministry. 🙏🏻
From a 22-year-old girl: thank you so much for that conversation! It truly moved me and kinda healed something.
I love your long-form content and it has already helped me so much in my faith. Please keep it up!
Also, now I really wanna go on Jason’s hike in Switzerland xD
(I’m from Germany, so it’s really cool that he plans trips outside the US)
JPII is the Goat! Im reading Jason's book on JPII right now. Page turner! Love it! Thank you both.

For Sure. I had almost the same discernment.
I’m from Dominican Republic and I’ve never heard of this village. So interesting!!
In general I agree that men should make the first move. But sometimes we're a little clueless. My wife invited me to DQ during a break in our grad school class. We married 7 months later. After 33 years and 11 children , I think we turned out okay :)
A friend of mine was nearly fired from his professorship for giving a female colleague a side-hug. Men have learned that women are predators.
Hey, only the best things get splattered with Tomato Soup - think Van Gogh Paintings ! x
Great interview, a must see for parents and young people. Thanks to both of you. 💚
I’m sharing this to my 17 year old nephew, he needs to hear this..
Someone pitch this to Charting Towards Intimacy.
@@TheCathyWAFFLE Hi there, what does "Charting towards intimacy mean"? Thank you.
Appreciate the new ad format. Just fyi.
And God bless you for all the good work you guys are doing
You’re both such passionate people for the good! Jason I absolutely love your moral courage…you have a beautiful vocation. God Bless !!! 🙏❤️
This was so good! A lot of pearls in this interview.
Appreciating the frequency of Jason on PWA 🤝🏾 Great relevancy to the battles in our present culture.
What a great conversation!Thank you and God bless you both.
Jason you are doing such important and much needed work, and changing so many lives. Thank you for answering the Lord’s call. 🙏
I've been rereading his encyclicals ( which came the day before his feast day) & his papacy has been on my mind a lot, & then this video pops up in my feed 😂
The spirit of Saint Pope John Paul II is still very much alive & present thank God ❤
Thank you Matt and Jason!

Right on, more active listening is needed. Jason is an incredible human!
Difficulty level: impossible
26:54 is the greatest testimony I have ever heard. It was so well put and acted, and somehow even funny. When even saints struggle..what can I ask for???
This was so incredible.Thank you so much for posting
Thank you for the discussion on marriage and annulment. I am going through OCIA and my husband divorced and have petitioned the tribunal for my conversion.
Thank you guys so much for this episode!
@@jermsil3 You should report this to the archdiocese
Pray God provides you with abundance.
What is his reasoning??
@@adiesumpermariam4111 he didn't say for adoration. I asked my boss if it was the Lady from the super rich family complaining about the kids being there, and my boss said, "I can't say." While nodding her head yes .
This needs to be reported
Jason is awesome and spot on most especially in Catholic wisdom!! Excellent!!
This guy is great. Definitely a role model of how to be and how to go about living life on life's terms. 💪👊❤️
Wow! Fantastic episode. Wisdom throughout.
Please do come here in Toronto. Me and my school mates need these.
Yessss
I grew up in Jamaica convent and boarding school.....was very lucky....grounded sensible and reverent religous exposure by American and European nuns and priests. When I came to Australia I was very surprised at the crazy things that were being taught by the Irish nuns and priests. A very different exposure to religon
I really needed this today. I feel like I haven’t done my duty as a man. I can’t provide for myself. I fall into the sin of lust. I’ve been praying for help but I have felt like I’m failing. Yet this shows up. Tells me there is today. There is hope
Thank you. I am encouraged by your comments given in love . I appreciate the effort you have taken to help others.
Our family also lives in FL. We have chosen to go to the beach later in the day when there aren't very many people there.

It really astonished me hearing how people don't see the vehemence and violence of people (who literally proclaim they're satanists and witches) reacting to a CHASTITY TALK and react by being angry at the chastity speaker. 🤦♂️
He is absolutely right. People like that take the spiritual battle more seriously most of us do and should.

Watching from Switzerland, please do one in Switzerland!
In today’s heated political atmosphere, this interview breathed fresh hope and strength and goodness into my soul. The entire 3+ hours was AWESOME!!!
My son loves pope John Paul 2nd forever pray for him my son now pull please he's suffering from some medical issues Rip❤
This is such a great interview!!
I wish that there were more young men willing to come on this show and talk about how they dealt with dating problems. I have never connected with Jason or Matt or Trent when it comes to dating because they to some extent they just look at dating through the lens of what they experienced.
I would actually also really appreciate that, if only to see someone of our generation speaking through a more recent experience.
Thank you for your podcasts!
God bless you both and thank you 🙏🏻✝️
There was one member of the U.S.
Please.
Is there a Walking with Purpose group near you? If not see if you could start one at your local parish ❤
CANT WAIT!!

I need an annulment but it’s so confusing and scary because my marriage now is perfect and Godly yet the first marriage was in the Church. There was addiction and alcoholism and infidelity before and during the first marriage so I hope it would be annulled.
Pray about it and leave it in God’s hands. Sometimes that’s all you can do. You have to accept His will over yours, no matter what happens.

As a missionary, I had a mission president who said “You can’t stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can stop it from building a nest in your hair.” I’m sure it was not original, but it did help to separate the temptation to sin from active participation in or even embracing sin.
