Say what you want about Jordan Peterson. But his mythological view point on the Bible allowed me to get closer to the gospels, and now I’m a full believer. So, there is that.
I was already a believer when I started watching him and at first was frustrated by how close he was without being all in. Very interesting comments on the Tabernacle and Tut's tomb. Also note that Israel's sacrifices were outwardly similar to the nations around them but were offered to Yahweh.
Also, the animals that God ordered Israel to sacrifice were held as sacred by the Egyptians. So it was like God was trying to help Israel abandon their idolatry, and prove it, by offering them as sacrifices every morning and every night.
The eagle from Rev.12 is possibly an individual, namely St. John, son of Zebedee, the Apostle, to whom our Blessed Mother was entrusted at the foot of the Cross, and with whom she lived a life of contemplation and prayers at Ephesus.
This is the movie that Mel Gibson should make... The whole book of Acts showing the founding of the Catholic Church. If it was done well and precise it would convert so many protestants because most don't know history. They fundamentally don't know that the early Church was the Catholic Church.
Maybe among protestants who've... never read a book or something, but any protestant who's even remotely interested in theology or history obviously knows that lol
@@mitchellm2208I mean many people (even some Catholics) don’t realize that the early church was Catholic - maybe lots of people who really read into it might come to that conclusion, but even Dr. Bergsma talks about how he used to think the early church was Calvinist - so as long as it’s done well it at the very least couldn’t hurt :) and what a cool topic for a movie!

“Try doing that with a scroll.” It’s very interesting to think about it like this, how a book was such a technological innovation for writing at the time that it was akin to RAM for a computer. This is probably why Christians were referred to as “the people of the book” in many historical accounts, especially in the Middle East. The reason is because we were the only ones who made books, and there was only one book that was made by us. So the phrase “the people of the book” was just as specific as calling someone “a card carrying communist,” in the minds of someone immersed in the culture of that time it conjures an image of a specific kind of person.
I've wondered if the fact that crucifixion caused the most suffering and was the most torturous way to be killed and was practiced at that time and place factored into the timing of Christ's Incarnation. Like that the gravity of humanity's sin is so great that God wanted a drastic picture of what, in mercy and justice, it should cost to redeem us and atone for it.
Amazing conversation!! Learned so much, thank you. I’d love to see a discussion with Hugh Owen, Director of the Kolbe Centre for the Study of Creation.

The point about the ark being needed only if it had been a worldwide flood doesn’t fit it with the way God sometimes interacts with his faithful servants as shown by his request of Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, when God knew that he would eventually intervene to prevent it. In the same way, the building of the ark could have been a test of loyalty and faith in a time when the whole “world” was plagued by pure evil. The issue with a local flood would be in reconciling that the Bible says that all living things outside the ark perished.
Love this❤. So if you think about it. The Bible is a book of history and truth. The eagle from Rev.12 is possibly an individual, namely St. John, son of Zebedee, the Apostle, to whom our Blessed Mother was entrusted at the foot of the Cross, and with whom she lived a life of contemplation and prayers at Ephesus.
Love this podcast. Really really intelligent and deep.
The Protestants and orthodox would mock you for such a statement. No pope in early church that has ultimate authority as vicar.
@@Bigchickens bro three popes are in the bible Peter, Linus, and Clement. There's even a Church Council. Heck Isaiah 22 prefigures Mathew 16 line for line. Not only are there Popes in the new testament the old testament typologically prophecies about it.
@@oswaldomaldonado1051interesting, I am not catholic but considering it. Could you, if it isn't too much of a problem, give me reading material to investigate this further?
Hey Matt, young earth creationist here. Your questions such as ‘how big did the Ark have to be?’ Have been answered thoroughly for a very long time. I think you should interview a YE Creationist scientist to explain these things for you. If you’re not interested in that, I can suggest some mainstream creationist websites that answer these things.
Yes! Can’t wait for part 2 of the Catholic Introduction to the New Testament. Part 1 is awesome.
Ya!!!! Shout to British Columbia, Canada!!!! The setting of hallmark movies.

Thursday at the end just cringing while Matt goes on and on about taking Dr. Hahn to bed had me in tears 😂
I have so long been amazed about the Saducees non belief in the resurection. This explains a lot.
One of my favorite interviews!
One of the best episodes so far
Wow, I didn't know about Augustine listing the Canon so far back. That's really an amazing revelation to me!
Thank you Bible Michael Douglas!
This makes the most sense, as it is through the Cross that the world is redeemed.
This is one of my favorite videos of yours
I'm a Protestant and so impressed with Dr Bergsma and his teaching. I realized that this type of teaching is largely unavailable in Protestantism.
Amazing conversation!! Learned so much, thank you. I’d love to see a discussion with Hugh Owen, Director of the Kolbe Centre for the Study of Creation.
Loving these interviews!!!
I just found this, it’s 3 years old. Did you guys see Ben Shapiro playing Ave Maria on the violin???!!!
Praying for his conversion and would love to see him on with Dr. B!!
The best!
What?
I love this!!! Can we have 3 more hours? 😀
A Dr. bergsma/ Michael Heiser debate/conversation would have been outstanding. RIP Dr Mike.
Love this❤. So if you think about it. The Bible is a book of history and truth. The God who made the universe truly visited us and live with us for a while how amazing is Thats makes me feel special and love. Jesus truly love us. And the devil hate that. Because it proves how God loves us so much. ❤
1:47:00 area where the apocryphal Gospels and Mohammed is mentioned, I have heard Christian anti Islamic debaters who point out that Mohammed did infact use them believing they spoke about true events when in reality the invents in the apocryphal Gospels are said to have been like "parables" to explain things about Christ.
