Pray for the 'pope'? The Great Imposter? Pray for the intentions of the False Teacher? This is madness! The suggestion is absurd, since the Argentine heretic wants to destroy the Church! So you want to pray for the destruction of the Church?!
Yes! Pray for his conversion back to true authentic Catholicism, now that's loving him! Stay lucid...he is the reason for our very dark hour in our current state of the church. He's not the starter of this mess, but he's like the icing on the cake, hopefully by the grace of God, we all convert our sinful lives and don't get anyone worse, as the old saying goes...we get what we deserve! Let's all wake up!!
Love Dr Hahn wish he would talk to my wife who has left the church and went to another Protestant church we’ve been fighting back and forth about each other’s beliefs in our different churches…. Please pray for us
I am in a similar situation, but my wife was never Catholic. Trust me when I say this, the wall only goes higher when you argue. Let your life proclaim the gospel. I also lift her and my children up in prayer at every mass. I will be praying for you.
I was raised in the New Apostolic Reformation movement. Ie. Wommack, Hagin, Copeland, DuPlantis, Hinn, etc. I became an atheist in 2016. I found Jordan Peterson in 2017, and slowly became an agnostic. Now, I studied my way through reading the church fathers and listening to podcasts like this, into the Catholic Church. My wife and I are attending RCIA. Pray for her as well. I am not trying to force my beautiful Baptist wife to convert, and her heart is really starting to love the Church.
Similar path here… atheist, JP, then witnessing that we as citizens are expected to worship and sacrifice at whatever alter the governments enforces… what a wake up call. Grateful to be back in the church, which my family left when I was 9, at 52. Hubby is not onboard… but that’s ok, loving Christ is making me better at loving others. We’ll get there… and even if we don’t, the mass, prayer, practices and disciplines of my faith make me hopeful that as the lone practicing Catholic in our house, I can endure. Plus, my sweet husband of 17 years has agreed to be married in the church! So grateful to God!
Scott Hahn came to Limerick in Ireland in 1996. I went to hear him talk and thought to myself that I had to get to Steubenville. I went to speak to Scott afterwards and told him that I would love to go to study in Steubenville. He said that I should do it. I was 31. Teaching. Had my own house. But by the Grace of God, 3 weeks later I was sitting in my first class in Steubenville. Scott Hahn was the lecturer in my first ever class there. I lived around the corner from Scott and Kimberley. I loved my year there. I learnt so much and it was so great to be steeped in Catholic culture. Thank God for that opportunity.
I and about 10 other Catholics at my parish are reading "The Fourth Cup" in our Bible study as part of a eucharistic central book study that our bishop asked us to do for the eucharistic revival. It was our choice of book, and I suggested the fourth cup, and we are having some fantastic discussions on scripture and why it's the most central part of our faith. Thank you, Scott. For everything you do for our faith and Christianity as a whole.
As brand new Catholic converts trying to sort out how we fit into all this controversy in the church, this is exactly the conversation of hope my family and I needed. So very grateful to you and to Dr Hahn. Glory to Jesus Christ and may we all pray and work more deeply within our circles of control. Book ordered.
Every now and then I say to my family: I would love to emigrate to the USA. When I'm asked where, I say: To Steubenville! Most people here don't know Steubenville, but the attraction now reaches all the way to Germany
Our clergy aren't scripture scholars, they are pastors, confessors, baptizers and, most important, bringers of the Eucharist. For our sakes they give up having a wife and family. They do more for God in one week than most of us do in a lifetime.
@benecliptus great advice, it's best to give a positive compliment without a negative judgment or comparison. I think doing so makes the compliment more meaningful.🎉 🎉
The first time I heard Scott Hahn almost a year ago.... I realized what I had been missing in my Christian life. I listened to Scott debate a Protestant and wow.... I agreed with everything Scott said. I was like " why haven't I ever heard this before in my christian life" I owe it to Scott Hahn , Brant Pitre and Chrisopher West for bringing me the word of truth and for showing me my body was to worship the Lord. I'm probably not making any sense ( Christopher West would probably understand me lol) I'm grateful to my son and daughter in law for bringing it up in conversation one evening at home that sent me into a frantic freak out mode... that I was losing my son... to who knows what. I couldn't sleep after that conversation and listened and listened and listened and with 24-48 hours I knew I had to become Catholic. It's all in the Eucharist ❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you again. Thank you Lord for waiting for me. I love you so much. Now I pray and pray for the rest of my family.
Just Love Dr Hahn, been listening back in the day on EWTN on podcasts... he is amazing, still on fire for the Lord.... makes my heart sing. The Truth, so gentle, so loving... God works through this man and it is wonderful and uplifting. A true witness.
Dr Hahn talking about moving to “the armpit” and how wonderful the catholic community is there and me realizing that we did the same. We moved into our homestead in the middle of east Texas and our parish is alive and thriving here. I prayed to find our new home in a good parish and God answered that prayer. Our Bishop Strickland, our fathers Gavin and Reymundo and our little nuns Andrea, Inocencia and Providencia are saintly shepherds to us. The members of the parish welcoming and involved, it’s a jewel and I’m grateful every day God put is here. My husband of 35+ years is doing gets Confirmed today, at the age of 60. And I know our parish deserves full credit for it. My prayers have been answered and I give thanks to Our Loving Mother, the saints and angels prayers and all Glory to God, the Father the Son and The Holy Spirit. Pray Hope and Don’t Worry. -Padre Pio
@@loarnotoole36 we a very sad about this. Bishop Strickland, he’s still bishop just not in charge, is a holy man and he will be sorely missed in the Tyler diocese. He confirmed my husband and that day he was an amazing teacher for the kids getting their sacraments as well as the rest of us grownups there for the ceremony. I almost cried today at mass when our priest asked us to pray for the bishop, the pope and everyone in the parish.
Watching from Brazil. Fascinated. Could listen to Scott Hahn endless hours... It s wonderful how he is human and able to get right to the point of all questions we can have, with such clarity, but with such saintity that makes him - in my eyes - the most blessed man I can imagine living in these times. God bless Scott Hahn for being such a light.
I'm going to add a new budget category, specifically for purchasing ALL of Dr. Hahn's books. Life-changing would be an understatement. No words. Thank you for having him on your show again!!!
Invest in the bible too. Study them side by side and you will realize how far apart they are. His teachings, like most catholics, is full of "churchianity" than Christianity
"Why don't we get taught that?" I say the same thing about training workers. It is as if we just want to get them through so they can be functional not proficient. It is the sad truth with our system of reaching a sacramental milestone in the church. It is sort of a graduation to get to Confirmation. Everything else is grad school. It should never feel as if we are done. it is a lifelong journey. Thank you Dr. Hahn for your books. They have opened so much to my understanding of our faith.
Forgiving one’s parent was discussed in this interview. I’m in my late 60s. I spent almost my entire life trying to come to a place where I could forgive my parents. I have a brother who’s in his mid-70s and a sister also in that age range. My sister has come close to forgiving my parents, but my brother still struggles with it. I turned the lens of compassion on my parents a long time ago. My father passed over 30 years ago, and my mother passed more than 10 years ago. They suffered from PTSD. They were born and lived in a time when there was a little understanding of what trauma did to people. As a result, they were not able to understand that they needed to restrain their behavior. They traumatized each and everyone of their children; of which there were six. Each of them has walked through this life with some sort of baggage. I don’t think the individual can come to a place where they can force themselves to truly forgive. This act of forgiveness took me almost until the age I am now. I agree that through prayer and loving Christ, while trying to understand that his teaching brings one to a place where forgiveness is possible. This is true forgiveness however. It’s not intellectual. This is where, when one recalls the things that happened to them, they no longer relive the suffering. For me, if I think about them and various history, which I do from time to time, it’s more as if the things that happened to me actually happened to someone else. I’m not in denial. I’ve just moved on. I think I’ve experienced enough healing in my own life that I can now attend to other things. It’s a freeing thing as people have often spoken of, about forgiveness. But it’s freeing in this respect, one is now free to no longer be dogged by the trauma they endured years before, and they are free to live their lives as each day comes.

❤❤❤I just saw the retract that Dr. Scott Hahn posted this morning regarding his statement in this video about the Pope not being the center of Church. I came back here to watch this interview again. See and hearing his original statement in full context I don't disagree with it in the least, it is a opinion based on education, scripture, tradition and truth. I really appreciate Dr. Hahn and Matt Fradd, their time, effort and love for Catholicism and their zeal to share the love of Christ. P. s. I really wonder what drove his apology. Real.....or who..😮
More and more lately, I feel like God is connecting all the dots in my life. The depth of His Love and His magnificent Wisdom provided through Sacred Scriptures has given me every bit a sense of peace despite the storms all around. He has revealed His very self to us. Praise be to God.
I’m so glad I heard this conversation. It struck me while listening that these two men, despite their evident intellectual prowess and knowledge, also share deep personal humility. This seems to me to be a increasingly rare and under valued quality these days. Dr Hahn is always inspiring and I felt Matt was the perfect interviewer. From his own humility and experience he was able to ask just the right follow-up questions. Thank you both so much for enriching my morning. (From a Scottish Glaswegian in England)
Dr. Hahn spoke at our catechetical conference a few years ago. He signed his book, The Lamb’s Supper and personalized it to my Baptist minister Dad who never tried to dissuade me from my journey to Holy Mother Church.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🕊️
I have had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. Hahn, Kimberly and Patrick Madrid at events over the past 20 years. I feel so blessed and thankful that I did. They were instrumental in my conversion to Catholicism almost 30 years ago. If you have a chance to see the Hahn's at an event near you, go see them. You won't regret it. (Unfortunately Patrick Madrid has retired from most public speaking events now.)
The bit that starts at about 1:00 is brilliant where he compares the world to an appetizer with which our fallen natures may become sated and never show up at the banquet which is Heaven (my poor paraphrasing).
I hear Dr. Hahn (and some of my friends/family) say how blessed he is for having children - I agree. Children are truly a gift from God. I wish I could have experienced it. I'll just be lonely in my old age, I guess 😥
I know how you feel, it's really hard to see the Church talk so much about the beauty and merits of the sacrament of marriage (and the family) and yet be unable to experience it. Especially hard if one has had difficult and/or traumatic experiences involving relationships. I really wish the Church did more to bring young Catholic men and women together. Even more so considering the toxicity in modern culture and the far reaching negative impacts of social media/the internet. Today it's hard enough to meet anyone period, let alone someone that shares the same values and faith. I also feel like some parishes don't do enough to foster a real community which ends up driving a lot of younger people away, since none of their friends (if they even have any) are Catholic. Finding friends as a Catholic is particularly (and uniquely) hard in the first place because a great many people (including most Christians from other denominations) think you're either nuts, an uninteresting and boring loser, a hateful and judgemental hypocrite, or an idolater practicing a demonic and paganized perversion of "true Christianity(tm)". I will pray for you my brother/sister in Christ, and I humbly ask you to return the favor!
Dr. Hahn is an incredible speaker and has such zeal for the faith. When he was speaking about how people forsake heaven for the world, I couldn't help but think of what St. Augustine said about our restless hearts: "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”
I cannot wait until I'm done with my studies and I can spend all my time reading the marvelous books Dr. Scott Hahn has written and suggested... And so I can have the time to also evangelize and teach confirmation classes at my parish! In Gods timing:)
Thank you for this. All Christians need to hear this but especially is Catholics… Scott Hahn always puts things into perspective in the best of ways and Matt Fradd WITH Scott Hahn is a perfect pairing.
I hardly engage with ‘entertainment’ anymore… I watch a lot of documentaries though…science, history and nature series… luckily I find all that super interesting.
Odd timing. I just bought a house with my husband. We are already planning a small homstead and working on setting stuff up to help family. My husband and I are the only stable relationship currently in both his family and mine and we are the oldest. We know it's our job to take care of everyone else when our parents go. We are the tradition holders and the only source of stability for family in need. And it's weird to think about. We have really been thinking about the future a lot.
We moved to our homestead two years ago and we see this piece of land as being the “safe space” for our extended family. God led us to a beautiful piece of land in an amazing parish. God is Good.

There are many paths, not just one path. Solidarity in Christ is presupposed. However, he condemns “nostalgia”, mentioning “the fifties” and pre-Vatican II. It is not nostalgic to look back to a time of full convents, full and affordable schools, many vocations, enthusiastic church attendance, and many other markers of success. Much of that is now gone. And we shouldn’t examine why because it’s too “nostalgic”? That is a recipe for repeating mistakes and failing to accumulate wisdom based on lessons learned.
Honestly, this was probably one of the best overall interviews Matt has done. As a young man aspiring to be a father, I am so grateful for this one. Thank you!
I love this channel. I was intimidated at first because of the length, but with some of the interviews, like Dr. Hahn, I don’t think they are long enough. Thank you Dr. Hahn! Am I the only one who imagines God's voice to sound like Scott's?

That’s a really beautiful testimony! I’d love to hear the whole story in some format (podcast, article, blog, etc) sometime!
🙏
God bless you and your wife and family! What an amazing God to lovingly and patiently wait for your return to Him.
Read Scott Hahn conversion book. His wife took a little longer to convert.
The glare off of Scott’s mic looks like an illuminated Cross…..it couldn’t be more appropriate! Scott is amazing.
I noticed that as well and kept me focused on why i needed to listen to this to this talk .
God is everywhere, especially in the detail. Praise be to Jesus
Just ordered my copy
That book is splendid and is a real eye-opener. I've listened to his video called The Fourth Cup, many times over the years.
I love the point about the apostles not being dead, but part of the living church. A great reminder.
Yes!
Every now and then I say to my family: I would love to emigrate to the USA. When I'm asked where, I say: To Steubenville! Most people here don't know Steubenville, but the attraction now reaches all the way to Germany
Most people in the US have never heard of Steubenville! It's a small city about an hour west of Pittsburgh...
Same! :)
Dr Hahn just exudes the Spirit. The Spirit pours forth and it’s so wonderful to listen to.
Scott Hahn being more of a teacher and leader than 99% of our clergy.
Our clergy aren't scripture scholars, they are pastors, confessors, baptizers and, most important, bringers of the Eucharist. For our sakes they give up having a wife and family. They do more for God in one week than most of us do in a lifetime.
@@drkarenhansonfor those who take the Faith seriously I agree 100%.
that's deeply uncharitable. You can compliment Dr. Hahn without denigrating priests.
@benecliptus great advice, it's best to give a positive compliment without a negative judgment or comparison. I think doing so makes the compliment more meaningful.🎉 🎉
@@octuple505 Definitely. It also prevents people from sinning (detraction) and saying stupid, unfounded things just to score a cheap dig.
The Hahn children and grandchildren are so so blessed ❤
-Padre Pio
You’re lucky you’re in your 60’s. I wish I was old so I could be with the Lord sooner
Bishop Strickland ....no more....
@@Mashfan6507 I’m not in my 60s yet, one more year 😂
Ironical, now that Pope Francis has axed Bishop Strickland. Well, the Holy Father will ge his chance in court, too,
Watching from Brazil. Fascinated. Could listen to Scott Hahn endless hours... It s wonderful how he is human and able to get right to the point of all questions we can have, with such clarity, but with such saintity that makes him - in my eyes - the most blessed man I can imagine living in these times.
God bless Scott Hahn for being such a light.
Family jubilee part made me cry, this is so beautiful. I pray to be married to such a man that takes inspiration from the our Heavenly Father.
God bless you❤
Thank you Dr. Hahn for awaking the Faith in us. May God bless you and your family, abundantly.

I am not Catholic, but I am getting Dr. Hahn's new book. Great talk. I have been watching your channel and really enjoy it. Thank you.
Ask Jesus to enter into every painful situation and acknowledge his being inside of me and offer up my pain.

@@clark5363these people live in delusion when the very book they are supposed to read teaches agaisnt the practices of the church they follow, don't even try brother. Already in Matthew there's a dozen chapters that are pure contradiction to the catholic church, they don't even know the real story of how it was formed and believe it really was the first one right after resurection when the facts are that until 330 years after that christianism wasn't even allowed in rome. 😂
@@channelMasterGuiGameyou do realize that those 300+ years they were being prosecuted and martyred? The church was underground until a convert, the mother of the Roman emperor convinced him to legalize the worship even though he wasn’t converted yet? Do you even history bro?
The Bible you read was butchered by the fathers of your church, you don’t have a full Bible, you are missing books.
Without St Jerome you wouldn’t even have that butchered Bible to read, without the printing press the Book would still be tied to the altar so that people wouldn’t steal it to sell because it took years for monks to painstakingly copy it.

Thank you!
