- It’s time to share how I control pests!
Ok let’s start from the beginning - I used chemical warfare for years, provanto and such and then tried essential oils ( probably badly) then biological control and I went back to chemical as I didn’t think the rest worked for me.
After some time passed I wanted to try again and found a good bug dealer to sort me out! On an even better note I met Tess recently and she’s an absolute legend!
For spider mite and thrip I can now swear by these bugs. For mealies one will see but I know ladybirds didn’t cut it and I tried three times last year!

My fam get all dramatic when I spray my plants, neem oil, geranium oil, rosemary oil, insecticidal soap combo. Lol I find it hilarious that they make faces and fuss talking about getting headaches, meanwhile both my teenagers DRENCH themselves in AXE spray and perfume daily… my point hasn’t quite come across yet though lol they still do it, so then, will I 😂❤

We battled thrips and spider mites for months. We can't use sprays for several reasons. Release the predators (beneficial mites) and watch the plants celebrate! I will never be without my littly army again!

Lady bugs or Lady Bird Beetles usually arrive fairly dehydrated so, misting your plants before letting them out will give them an opportunity to have a drink before they get busy, hopefully laying eggs because it's their voracious larvae you want.

I use the neem oil mix too. I use Dr. Bronner's peppermint castile soap. The peppermint seems to calm down the neem stink and it doesn't linger as long.👍🏽

Please give us an update…it can seem daunting, but when you have a collection that big and that expensive AND they’re in an enclosed setting, an army of predator bugs is absolutely appropriate

I got predatory mites twice - both times I couldn’t tell if any bug I saw was a mite or a predatory mite. So it ended up causing me more anxiety lol
At least with these you can clearly tell a difference.
