Classic Game Room reviews CUSTOM VECTREX OVERLAYS from Steven Kray, Custom Vectrex Overlays review has Vectrex Overlays for Vectrex games.
Nice review!
I need an advise. I have $300 Should I pick up a Nintendo switch or a vectrex
NintendoAmigo How is that even a question? Buy the Vectrex. No console or PC have been able to match its raw power.
true, the Vectrex has remained an existential quandary for tech companies since it's creation. it's hard to know why you even try in the first place if you know that you'll never get "there" and you'll never get that good
Vectrex: portable, vector graphics, compatible with vectrex games
Switch: easy to lose, not compatible with vectrex games.
I think the answer is clear
NintendoAmigo I had a Vectrex but I sold it not knowing how much it was really worth. I had nineteen games with all the overlays, the ArtMaster cartridge with the light pen, two controllers, and only two manuals were missing.
King Axolotl Where were you when I was looking for one. lol
An impeccable scientific explanation. Well done, sir.
thanks
Are the overlays labelled as being reproduction or are the only ones he's made so far for homebrew titles?
Believe me when I tell you the Kray overlays will never be mistaken for the originals.
However, Steven did label those overlays grail game overlays have been marked with clearly identifying makings. Such as his Mr. Boston reproduction overlay made from my scans of the original overlay.
Is there vectrex rule 34
That's a silly question. The definition of rule 34 answers it for you.
'There is porn of it. Always.'
XD
Probably of Spike (and Molly) if anything on the system.
Because exposure range is different for human eyes than it is for cameras in the case of CRTs, the phosphor tends to glow brighter than the cameras maximum exposure. So, videos show more colors where the screen is dark. Also, the lines rely on the persistence of vision effect which cameras don't have. For eyes there is more contrast and the plastic probably has less color showing in dark areas.
Public comment for you, Sir
Not as good as the R Zone.
Nothing is
I've always wondered why I couldn't see colour on the Vectrex, thanks for the scientific explanation.
Thanks for sharing so many memories this was my first ever console I could still play minestorm, scramble or spike all day :)
I've heard there are some home brew games for that system
If there will be a dark red filter and a dark red color wheel for the vectrex & 3D imager, then you can simulated the r-zone and virtualboy experience on the vectrex.
What is the music ughh I love it.
I don't understand what is so great about vectrex.
Where are the hd shaders and advanced lighting features? How do you connect online to play with others? Can it record gameplay and let me stream on Twitch? Where are the 4K visuals? Does it support Kinect or Sony VR? Does it even support Amiibos? How are you supposed to play a game if you can't give your character a PacMan helmet? Does it even have an HMDI port? Can it even play a game that isn't a space shooter? Can you Play Layton on it? Call of Duty? Destiney? What about Donkey Kong? It can at least play Donkey Kong, right?
Vector graphics are beyond resolution.
Spike is sort of a DK clone at least heh.
You'lll know once you've played it. This feeling, this impression of... (no words could describe) will never leave you. Ever.
I hate to say it, but the Vectrex game over screen comes nowhere close to the real thing.
Fortunately my collection is complete-in-box if it existed. But is there a custom overlay for the Pitchers' Duel prototype reproduction? Other than that unofficial release, I have only one homebrew puzzle game, though I forget if it has an overlay. I keep meaning to dig it out of the storage bin for review, but I know Mark doesn't like to be responsible for loaners anyway.
yes, I sell overlays for pitcher's duel & tour de france as well!
Ah, just caught up on the Atari Age topic and bookmarked. Will have to set up my Vectrex again (been packed since moving last year lol) to see what I want or need before ordering though. Thanks.
What ever happened to Space Gar?
It got renamed to Gar Space.
