I actually have one of these, its pretty cool but its really uncomfortable and it just rests on the tip of your nose and vibrates. If you tilt your head too much while playing it likes to grind a ring onto the colors wheels like an early xbox 360. 3D Narrow Escape definitely has the best 3D effect. Sadly 3D Pole Position never came out.

The high contrast vector graphics should work really well in stereoscopic 3D.
I bought a vectrex not long after his first review of one. I only paid $80. sadly a year later I had to sell it for about that amount. man, do I regret it! now they go for $250+!!! Stupid! Stupid!!
$199.99 was the price of one after Mark's first Vectrex review.
That's pretty wild. I somehow missed this review because I would have definitely watched Mark talk about a Vectrex product! I love how tentative Mark is about putting on the 3D Imager. It does look like a torture device from the other side.

For the hell of it I checked EBay for this. There is one, with a Vectrex unit, a light pen and a number of games. BUT, the whole schmear is at a Buy It Now for $950+$50 postage. Whoa, instant Vectrex collection right there!

That's sooo true, why would anybody buy a ps4 vr headset if they could just buy a vectrex 3D imager, it's such special headset since it turns the b&w crt vectrex screen into a virtual 3D color screen in a cheap way.

The 3D imager also adds color to game play
So this thing sort of works like modern LCD shutter glasses. But is the disk just attached to a DC motor that just spins on its own, or is it synced up to the CPU clock via PWM so the frequency matches the refresh rate?
Am I the only one who thinks that when the Vextrex 3d Imager mask is sitting on the table, it looks like an old Bell telephone?

I hope one day I have the opportunity to try out a Vectrex 3D image myself. At least I have a working Vectrex unit and a lighten, which is already pleasing.
Better than the VR in every way. Everything is better than PlayStation though. Except for Xbox. Both are garbage.

Been watching Mark and David since Dreamcast's inception.
Got my hands on one of these a few years ago, replacing my partially complete Vectrex collection with buying someone else's, minus the light pen and its games that I still need to obtain.

The imager is going for 1,600 on Ebay now and there's one listing for 1,000,000 that states that it was never used and still new in the box. Sadly, I don't think I'll ever add one to my collection. But I do have 2 Vectrex consoles. I just played a game of Minestorm with my 4 year old. She actually made it past the first level.
I'd rather be stuck in Section Z than The R Zone, any day.

these are expensive in working shape, I remember one in it's box and 4 3d games in their boxes sell over over $1000 last year
