Love the packaging, love the presentation, love the cart, love the overlay ........ the game play though? dull as dish water ... maybe if I had a Vectrex light gun this might appeal but alas I'm passing this one by ..... good review though, thanks for pointing out the game flaws cuz no one else has
Really, what a great presentation this game offers! And, bugs apart, the gameplay looks quite fun. I wish Sega Genesis indie developers were this adventurous with new games packaging. Great review, Pete. I never cease to be amazed with the amount of love the Vectrex still receives.
This looks amazing, what lovely extras packaged in aswell. I see this one is still available, but perhaps too pricey for me. Cheers for yet another great review Pete👍
Thanks! Well, I've certainly considered it, but it doesn't bother me enough to justify the (high) price. The real advantage would be it would make for a better recording.
@@onaretrotip how high we talking? I know Vetrex collecting isn't cheap to start with, but for most id imagine that would see that as being worthy investment since its one of the systems only note worthy flaws.
@@Gojiro7 The Buzz Off kit is about £50 plus import fees, so probably about £68 total. Plus then I'd have to get it fitted. The Audio Tap is literally hundreds.
@@onaretrotip I’m having work done on one of mine to get it debuzzed and external speakers option, very clever guy not far from me does them and I can’t imagine it’ll be very expensive... He’s can even mess with the bios so you can alter the Vectrex boot screen... You could have yours saying “Onaretrotrip”
Looks like a fun little game despite the couple of flaws. The content you get with it is top notch too. Great review Pete, I do love these vectrex reviews 👍
Nice review Pete Great presentation but the game doesn’t look like that good. I’m still waiting for my copy, in no rush to receive it after watching this review. Still nice to add to the collection.
Yeah, it does seem the presentation is much better than the game, sadly. I did enjoy it though, although I'm not sure it's a game I'd play a lot. Thanks, Marcus.
Finally seeing vectrex games that arent just space shooters
Indeed!!!

Yes, the presentation definitely trumps the gameplay. Yeah, I had to honestly review it, and those small flaws did niggle at me.

Yes, the presentation is just astounding with this one. I love that the Vectrex has had a whole new lease of life in recent years.
Wowzers! This game is incredibly put together
Very impressive packaging, etc. Sadly, the gameplay could do with some more depth. But really cool!
This looks amazing, what lovely extras packaged in aswell.

Cheers for yet another great review Pete👍
It's very expensive for what is a quite average game, but the presentation and extras are easily the best I've seen for a Vectrex game.
Most realistic zombies I ever seen in a game lol. Great quality video as usual Pete top stuff 👍
LOL Cheers, James.
This looks great Pete, love the overlay.
Might treat myself to this one.
Yeah, overlay and presentation are absolutely superb mate.
I would have gone nuts for this!
LOL
hope for a part 2,and 3 and......anyone the same thoughts?
Of the game?
@@onaretrotip yes
That's a very nice use of the overlay imho!
Sure is!
That game looks amazing love the cart
Yeah, the cart, overlay, and extra bits are just stunning!
your one of the most persistent youtubers to cover the vetrex, have you considered getting yours modded to remove the buzzing?
Thanks! Well, I've certainly considered it, but it doesn't bother me enough to justify the (high) price. The real advantage would be it would make for a better recording.

Thanks, Sean! You bought a Vectrex yet? LOL
Looks like more work went into the presentation than the game - and thats a shame.
Yes, I'd have to agree. Still fun, but doubt it has much long-term appeal.
Looks great.
Definitely nailed the presentation.
I wish they would make some vectrex games for the Nintendo switch.. how cool would that be??!!
That would be pretty cool, with the flip grip to use the vertical screen.
Nice review Pete
Great presentation but the game doesn’t look like that good.
I’m still waiting for my copy, in no rush to receive it after watching this review.
Still nice to add to the collection.
Thanks, Alex! Yes, presentation seems better than the actual game for sure.
Amazing presentation.
Love how they’ve used the overlay on this.
Games does look quite average though 🤷♂️ enjoyed your review though nonetheless 👍🏻👍🏻

sick
👍
I jumped on this game right after it's release. Played it twice and it's really not that great. The presentation is superb, no discussion about that.
Agreed.
Awesome presentation, game looks a bit meh, I’ll look for a bargain copy ha
Yes, presentation is next level, but I doubt the gameplay has long-term appeal. Cheers, Steve.
Nice packaging, overlay etc., played this game yesterday but come on...little gameplay and frankly too simple and boring. For hard core collectors.
Agreed.
no animation at all, game looks it's for kindergarten kids, poor sound, repetitive, boring after 10 secs of play, thumbs down
It does seem the presentation is much better than the game, sadly. I did enjoy it though, although I'm not sure it has legs.
