Bought a GK2 a year ago. I am no expert just want something that works dependably. Ordered GK3 Ultra on launch. Arrived mid December with ordered extras (extra vat etc) - no problems with delivery. Worked straight from the box i.e. needed no adjustment, just checked leveling with paper strips. Used GK2 print settings (ex plate size obviously) without problem. Very happy. Also 'thank you' Mr Greedy for your clear, straightforward reviews and advice.
I have the 1205. I admit that i was extremely frustrated as i couldn't get things to print across the plate, as there were areas in the middle that would fail. I discovered that my build plate was concave. Uniformation replaced it and then I re-started the process of learning how to print on a large format printer. Im now doing good, although i admit that I don't have everything dialed in perfectly, but I'm really loving the large prints.
Putting aside the Uniformation QC issues, I appreciate the multi-month reviews/follow ups like this! If I buy a machine I intend for it to work for a long time, day in, day out.
Just received mine 3 days ago... Got it setup and did my first print yesterday. Works perfectly (so far)!. No issues with the printer that I've found.... However I did order the full package with Wash / Cure and there was a piece missing from my wash station. The impeller was missing from the package... Uniformation have said that they will send me another... It seems to work fine aside from that.... So for the time being I am washing the prints by hand.
Got mine early December. I've had zero issues thankfully. However, I was super-worried having heard all the problems some people were reporting and nearly cancelled my order.
I hear youtubers say, "they are doing everything to fix it", pretty lame. No they are not, issues are being reported for a long time now and people are still getting defective units, not just printers but the wash stations too. They are using people as beta testers to fix and report their overpriced machine. If they were doing everything, they would recal the printers, fix numerus problems and launch again, just like Bamboo did with their printer instead of dumping problems on buyers.
Fairplay Anthony, uniformation definitely f..k this one up, hopefully they can bounce back as I love my GK2s and was so disappointed about all the issues the GK3 ULTRA had, I went with the Anycubic m7 max as a large printer, and so far I love it.
Mine arrived without any major issues, it's awesome being able to print bases without having to fill the gaps etc. Also awesome to able to print small statues in one plate. Overall I'm happy with the GK3 Ultra.
Hi thank fot the video im sure many people is wating for videos about the GK3 ULTRA, since It is a large format and It has It 16 k res would you be so kind in making a video showing us the models you printed on so we can see that Hi res details
My GK3 Ultra arrived with a cracked lid, missing a screw on the vat clip and wrong leveling block. It took about a month to get parts but it is working perfectly now.
Hello i have a gk2 and love it. I am thinking about another printer with big volume like gk3. Would like to stay in the uniformation family, but im going to wait until issues are solved. Thanks for review.
I ordered mine in July it finally came in late November. Besides that the only "issue" I've had is that I had to re-level the plate. Great printer much faster than my Jupiter and I don't have to run a space heater.
The GK3 Ultra is definitely not in my consideration pool, but my pair of Mono X 6Ks printers are getting near their "best used by" date so I will be replacing them sometime this Summer. As for your content, you, @VogMan, and Ross (@FauxHammer) are my three most trusted opinion sources regarding 3D resin information.
I was one of the lucky ones that had no issues so far on my gk3 ultra but I have only printed the resin testing that came out perfect using sunlu abs like , may I ask what settings are you using to guide myself when I do a print
Also the only issue I did had was a wifi issue it seemed like it came defective they sent me a new one and worked like a charm, also there customer service team is excellent at least they were with me , my experience ans im coming from using a saturn 3 ultra
mine still not working.. lines in prints, if the heater is on. and i need it on.. there is no way that would not had been catch in test printers. Also the uv uniformation across the screen is not good.. i had to get a uv meter, and calibrate it as it was default way to low, then there is the missaligned built plate. So now i wasted 2L of resin, around 15% of screen life, on a printer i still cant use here 1½ month after i got it...
I have a GK3 ultra and I'm one of the unfortunate people that have a bad GK3 Ultra. As a fellow printer and painter of models the quality of the print and the heater issue is not ok. There is not a uniform UV distribution and weak UV light production. The heater should have been able to get to 35c but only goes to 30c. The build plate being smaller than the LCD screen, lines in the prints I cannot calibrate this machine. The solution is to either add additional heat/keep it in a room that is around 70 degrees for ambient temperature or turn off the heater all together. I must have a defective unit, but I also paid for mine and for the price I paid it's not acceptable. The new build plate is going to take at least a year to come out. The RUclipsrs or most of them got the 1204 models and higher quality control so those machines would perform as expected so RUclipsrs could endorse their product. That's just fact. I am returning my GK3 ultra unfortunately.
I had the 1205 FYI , if that's true re RUclipsrs getting higher quality control to endorse their products , whilst i understand why you may think that , when I received the GK3 Pro it was riddled with problems - please check my video on it so that theory kinda gets shot down , also im in close touch with several other youtubers , some have had probs with the ultra and most with the GK3 - again that theory is kinda blown ..sorry
@@greedy3d480 well, I guess it's luck of the draw then. If I were a company I would ensure products being sent to people who would endorse my product would have the best and tested units to have a positive appeal. That's just common sense to me and good business practice, but if that's not true then quality control like you said is an issue
@SgtMajorSav no i get it your thought makes business sense ...alot of the stuff we get to review comes from Amazon too so no way to check it's OK prior.. others direct from manufacturer . And I can vouch this hasn't been the norm for me to get squeaky clean ones...I do think qc is the issue
I'm with you on this! We even had some exchange of frustrations and solutions on their FB page. I'm also on the verge of returning it, it's just been one big shit issue after another. Bad UV all around, problems with build plate and offset, heating is still a major issue. I like their support, but the fact that we have to wait weeks upon weeks to get one part to fix, and then find out there's a new problem which you then have to wait weeks again to get fixed... It's a never ending spiral of extremely bad QC. It's very draining and honestly it's pretty much killed my interest and passion for 3d printing. I loved my GK2, but sadly I sold it when my GK3 Ultra arrived.
Technically you did not lie. You have not bought it, they sent it for free. Joking aside, mine has some issues. Waiting for my parts and I will be making a recap video when I sort everything out.
I had canceled my pre=order due to shipping delays. After the refund I purchased the RS - and I love that printer. Hope you don't get slammed by the "You're a shill" comments. People don't realize that their problems are not everyone else's problems.
Lol....the Shill stuff comes with the territory...hopefully if people listen to what I say they'll know I'm not ...but i honestly don't lose sleep over the comments...whatever I say or do someone will be offended or think what they will...tis the tapestry of life my friend...I seriously do feel for those that have had a poor experience..or broken printer.we've all been there to some degree or other and it's really not nice
@@greedy3d480 between that and other youtubers attacking each other and name calling lately - It's starting to turn the YT printing scene a bit toxic. Glad to see you sticking on the straight and narrow - Love the content - Keep up the amazing content .
Hes been using this GK3 ultra primarily since November.... instead of the HeyGears RS ? Hmmm, but has videos in the last few weeks on the Heygears RS and in those he says hes been using the heygears RS nonstop? Strange. Is he using both printers nonstop then? And if so, why? One is clearly better according to him (the heygears RS), so why use this one primarily since November?
You Can print on more than one machine you know...blimey mate don't be so suspicious ...imho the rs is a better printer but you've missed the point completely in the video 🙄
Hi sir, im about to get the ultra, soon, with its 16k resolution i want to see i video of your printed models to see details, im sure that they already fixed the Major " production" issues that is nothing to worry, we want to see the quality of the machine and print close UPS, thanks for the video people is wating for this UNIFORMATION GK3 ULTRA videos. @greedy3d480 i wish i could see another video showing the prints in good closeups, si see It is 16k try It also with small ring size objects and also your big prints pleade
3:07 clear truth, good experience is always overshadowed by negatives just because ppl don't feel obligated to post about zero problems
Vert true!!
Love my GK3 Ultra, had some superb results on large models
