CHRIS, I DID JUST WAY YOU SAID, AND IT CAME OUT PERFECT. MY GRANDMOTHER AND A AUNT, REST THEIR SOULS. USE TO MAKE THESE PIES YEARS AGO, I AM 62. IT CAME OUT JUST LIKE THEIRS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING.
I had a Sugar Cream Pie years ago in Indiana; and I have searched high and low for it in California, with no success. Thank you Chris....I am now going to try your recipe which looks soooooo good.
You aren't lying when you say you will love this pie!!! My mom used to make these when I was growing up in the 50s and 60s and that pie would disappear so fast it'd make your head swim! People need to get back to these basic ways of baking and they won't be disappointed with this recipe!!! Thanks for sharing!
"Sugar Pie Honey Bun, You know that I love you." Ever since I left home I have been looking for this pie and didn't know what it was called. I thought it was some version of an egg custard or what was called a chess pie. This is so easy to make. Thanks for the recipe., Darling.
I trust you!!! I'll be making this. Everything I've made from you came out sooooo good!! So when you say trust me I DO Thank you so much for the southern dishes I remember my aunts cooking but they couldn't keep me in there. So I thank you for keeping me in here now. 🤗 I miss them and thank you again
Y'all, I just made this pie again ..☺️twice this month alone😋..lollol..😖..yeah, it's a "good one" Ms. Chris! Been making it at least once every other month.. I'm telling y'all, MAKE THIS PIE!!! It's is so delicious and very easy to make.. In fact make 2, the first one won't make it out of the kitchen ...☺️😋🤫.. Thanks Chris for this AWESOME recipe!. Its one of my RUclips favorite recipes!👏🏾👏🏾
Mrs. Chris your pie looks so delicious. When this pie was invented. Was probably in the World War 1. They was rationed on everything. My Mother told me about the rations. Soon as I get everything. I'm going to make it. You and family have a Blessed Day.
That sugar cream pie looks fantastic! Before watching this video, I was definitely expecting to see some eggs, but I was surprised! However, I have heard that in Sicily people use cornstarch instead of eggs in their gelato, so I have no doubt that this would turn out. I have seem pictures of this pie before, and I wondered what gave it the distinctive top: now I know it is the cinnamon sugar. Although I usually do Argentinian food for Christmas and Southern for Thanksgiving, I may have to give this a try. Thanks for sharing another great recipe!
My grandmother used to make this pie and I loved it. I have not thought about this pie in YEARS! Glad somebody is out there making the old school recipes so this current generation knows what good cooking REALLY is! Chris, You are the BEST! BTW, love your nails!
Funny story, I have baked at least 4 of these pies and I’m watching you again. Each and every time the pie has been delicious, get so many raves about it being the best pie ever. Well….I have never baked them, once cooked on the stove and it was the right thickness I just poured them into my baked pie shell. I did use the right ingredients, just missed this step completely. Not going to switch now! Hope you get a laugh out of this, I greatly appreciate you!
Ohhh my Miss Chris this is amazing i can't wait to try this pie i know its going to be great thanks so much for sharing these excellent old school recipes Merry Christmas. Miss chris👐👐👐👐👐😃😃😃😃🎄🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎅🎅🎅🎅❤❤❤❤
This is one of the best old schooled pies I've ever made. I usually make this once a year around the Christmas holiday. So good! I understand why your pie disappeared overnight. Thanks for sharing this one.

Can't wait! Happy Holidays!❤🥰

My great-grandmother called it cream pie but it had the same ingredients she was from Scotland.:-) I started to make it at Christmas time so I sort of changed the name and called it sugar plum pie for the season and the Sugar Plum Fairy. :-)

It makes the perfect chocolate pie. Thank you so much for this delicious recipe! Merry Christmas and God bless!😊🎄
I make Sugar Cream pies every Thanksgiving and Christmas and everyone requests it for their birthday. Everyone loves it. I make mine on the stove top until thickened then pour it in shell, cool and refrigerate. No oven, except under broiler for seconds after topping with butter and cinnamon. She said she followed your recipe step by step! Wow! Let me tell you, the amount of good ol’ southern flavor that came from this pie was unbelievable! Almost reminiscent of a buttermilk pie! It was absolutely amazing! We barely allowed it to set enough before the pie was gone because it is even more delicious warm lol! Mom said it took her back to the days of going to her grandmothers and always looking forward to something delicious she had baked! Thank you for another one of your anointed recipes!
