As a owner of two BMWs this new design just pisses me off. The kidneys are droopy, the interior is ridiculously cheap, the lack of buttons and controls is maddening. The cost cutting, terrible UX, and incongruent design choices have ruined it. The board should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this design travesty to be approved.

And the customer service in my dealership is atrocious now, I get better service at my local Mazda dealership who even has a chef for free breakfast and lunch, I pay less for the servicing and they talk with me. BMW can't even be reached on the phone and some noob offers you a coffee every time you walk in even at 5pm to collect it. So your comment re design plus ownership equals ultra sad times for BMW fans watching their brand get lost.

Genesis GV70 3.5T interior blows this suv out of the park, for less money and 95% of preference. And why the hell will you take an Audi Q5?? You guys love not mentioning Genesis. It's mind blowing.

5:24 the taillights are still unacceptable because BMW continues to nonsensically remove the proper amber turn signals from USDM vehicles and make the brake lights double as the turn signals for some reason. This needs to stop and be made illegal ASAP.
Totally agree. All red may look nicer aesthetically, but separate amber turn signals should be 100% mandatory on any new vehicle. It's so easy to miss brake lights that double as turn signals.
Seriously? It has a third brake light, so a pretty weak argument for safety. It's even more popular on pickup trucks. It's cool to simply not like the look of it.
It really makes zero sense. Just because the US doesn't mandate rear amber signals, they don't give them to us? So, basically, they are spending more money to have different light housings for different markets. If they have to be amber for the EU, then just make it that for everyone!!
From someone who's owned a 2018 M40i, a 2022 m40i, and a 2020 x3m -> The problem with the G01, over time, is that they kept getting better and better. The handling improved, the technology improved, the comfort improved, everything about the G01 improved year over year, all the way up to the LCI, including the choices of material used. What i think happened with the final LCI for the G01 is BMW finally realized it was too good at that price point. this new m50i had to take some stuff away, keep it for the full M sport model coming, but they increased the price. effectively this is the most expensive G01, but it most certainly isn't their best G01. They knew this and had to play it smart.
We just bought the M50 over the GLC 350e. Yes, two different powertrains, but similar size cars, price, etc. The merc had a way nicer interior, but the BMW won out in driving dynamics and powertrain. I wish BMW would offer an upgraded interior materials option in the future. That's the only downside we see so far. We feel like we are in a tupperware container. The oddest part of the interior is when you close the door. It's such a huge plastic chunk of a door pull area. feels weird.
@@Kommentar3000 why would we buy old over new? There are a lot of changes from the previous gen. Suspension, aerodynamics, sound, design, electronics. We like new stuff. It's my wifes car. We looked at xc60 recharge, which was nice but 7 yr old design. Audi Q5 was old model, outdated interior. It came down to X3 or mercedes. She didn't want all electric. And I didn't really want hybrid. Shutting on/off. Plugging in everytime you come home, etc. For what savings? Complicated drivetrain to get 40 miles electric. 3 minutes to fill up X3, gets over 500 miles/tank, simple smooth proven powertrain.

The 350e had more power but was still not that fast. I talked her into the M50 over 30. She will never use the power but it makes for effortless driving. I will have fun when I drive it.
Not a car designer, but the flattened sides, flat back, and snub nose along with a high perceived beltline make it look at blocky as a lowered Escalade. Not sleek in the slightest. The asymmetrical grill covers also trigger me. 😮
Not really a fan of these guys filtering their own thoughts to stay on the manufacturers' good side. You can tell many times especially during the interior section that they have something not so nice to say but don't want BMW (who just flew them out to Germany to get exclusive reviews on models not sold here/anymore) to get upset so they just don't say it or play it off as not being that bad. Yuri is practically biting his tongue the entire time they talk about connectivity in the car. He also said the quiet part out loud when he said that he can be honest about his opinion of the GLC's brakes now that he's not doing that review, as if that isn't the whole point of a review in the first place.

I'll never understand the people who blindly simp for BMW interiors. Look, BMW is leading in performance, thats true. But I've never in my life sat in a BMW and thought "I get it". Every single time I've been in a BMW my reaction is always i just don't understand why people like this. And don't come to me about quality, because it's about 50/50 so far sitting in them with rattles or other issues vs not having an issue. My wife worked with someone that returned/sold three BMWs and ended up not getting another because they all had issues. Now admittedly I haven't been in a six figure BMW, and maybe that's where they finally put some forethought into their interiors, but 3 series, etc., I just don't get it

I’d take a Porsche Macan S / GTS. Really disappointed with the quality compared to cost, and still not convinced with the exterior design, no matter the angle/view. At least it still drives like BMW but is that enough to make someone buy this car?! Personally, I just don’t think so. Definitely not me.
Anyone considering this please get an M340. You'll save money and get something faster, better handling, better looking, and you still get your BMW inline 6.

I wish luxury cars would re-learn how to look like luxury cars. They look like any mainstream brand. It seems they are all built to appeal to 20 year olds. When I was in my 20s, luxury cars looked like cars for a grown-ass-man.

After seeing this im so glad i traded my m40i for a 24 x3m comp. The interior and design is superior in previous gen in my opinion.
All of these new cars are a rip off. 85k for X3. Once you add tax you are at almost 100k. Gonna depreciate rapidly also.

I actually like the styling...but a cheap interior is a no go. Huge miss by BMW.

The letter at the end of each vehicle's name represents the type of fuel used. An “i” signals a gas model, “d” for diesel vehicles, and “e” for plug-in hybrids. BMW's electric i Models have an “i” before the numbers in the vehicle name.
They’re getting rid of the i at the end of the models as mentioned in the video
The back is so funky. It makes it look like it’s an EV
Really hope the sales number for this is low so they will instantly come back to their sense to refresh and fix the interior
I like my current lci so I should be their target market but I can’t imagine driving this. It’s not ugly like the 7 is where it’s so ugly it’s almost nice looking, this is just hideous from every angle and the inside looks like this should be an x1, not the x3
