This just arrived on my doorstep last weekend and I’m loving exploring it already. The terrain is very simple to make and I can’t wait to start playing the missions. Reminds me a little of Warhammer quest back in the day. Oh and subscribed! I thought I had already but happy to right that wrong. 👍
Hope you enjoy it! I am keen to hear other peoples opinions on it too. Hoping to get a few friends over and play a few missions, as it looks like a more complex Heroquest, so maybe a good gateway game into other wargames :)
I just wished they would make space crusade remake. Grew up playing that game, and we had so much fun. A remake would surely be an enormous commercial succes on top of that. At least we have blackstone fortress right now, which is quite good too.
I'd love that! I have the original here (keep meaning to do a video), and it was so much fun! I have not actually played Blackstone fortress tbf, is it decent?
Game is nothing like heroquest except its a dungeoncrawl. To compare maladum to heroquest isnt being fair on either game because maladum is much much more involved with alot more involvement. I just finished heroquest a month ago and started maladum, maladum is ace and feels closer to a gateway d and d game.
I know, that is half a years worth of content! Having a baby must be good for video making! Ooo, good question. It feels "easier", and you have a lot more freedom with you characters. That said, it has more paperwork. The cursed city models are better, but these are still decent. Now I want to play both games for the ultimate showdown!
Hmmm...immediately I'm turned off by all the extra bits. One of the great things about the original Heroquest is that it's actually quite minimalistic. There's some nice furniture and doors but you don't have to construct rooms or make the map out of disparate pieces that will innevitably stretch off the table or get lost. Also the paper pads included with heroquest provide the best way to track stats instead of those finicky, little, cardboard chips
@@GRG28248 I understand the hesitation but it’s the little bits that actually make this game great! It does seem like a bit much at first but you get used to it pretty fast. There is so much variety in the different items you can get that it makes every play through very different
What I didn't get a free pen!!! That is it I shall totally go online and slam them for their shady business practice and act like a huge ass just to get my point across!
Disagree. I've a bunch of Battle systems terrain for several sci fi skirmish games, 5 Parsecs, Stargrave etc.. Has held up really well for several years.. Just store it properly and don't abuse it.. Stuff is sturdy

I saw the new models painted with 90s colors video (really liked the result tbh), and now we need 90s models painted like modern ones.
A smashing video from smashing people about a smashing game…..you guys smashed it 🙌🙌🙌
All the smashing. ❤

Battlesystems are a great operation altogether, and I love their terrain, it looks so good. Great vid as ever
I'm loving this game so far, great coverage and overview!
Thankyou! I'm looking forward to trying to get a few more games in.
The best thing about heroquest is the doors!
The best thing about heroquest is THE GARGOYLE

the adventurer dashboards look like a very handy feature 👍
The little plastic "container" bit is handy. Stops me having to mess about with heaps of bits (which I inevitably lose).
The game looks great! Fantastic paintjob!
Thanks a lot! :)
Good video. Snappy and informative. Well done. Good to see team Broadsword back.
What a nice video!. I love stuff that comes with nice colour terrain.
Me too!
I see Ciara and click❤
Fair. I'd click me more though!
Team me!

Nice miniature painting!
I love Maladum and I am glad it's getting some coverage!

I got the kickstarter edition with a few expansions
Oh excellent. Have you managed to get a game in yet? I thought the tutorial was genuinely useful, which is nice!
Best model test EVER! :-)
I am still impatiently waiting for my kickstarter in Cork 😢 😂😂😂
Oh no! We will end up stocking this when they're ready, I think. 😀
@BroadswordWargaming marvellous. Any future expansions, and I'll know where to go.

Think you forgot to add the link to Twitch. At least I can't see it
Ooo, you're totally right! My newborn addled brain is battling to keep on top of life ha. Thanks!
Good looking game that.
Even Ciara liked it.. and she never likes games haha

It's not really a comparison (more a title to get eyes on this). I love HeroQuest, it was my first game back in the 90s, and still love it now!
this is such great video and the game looks really fun
Battle systems is great
What's this? 2 videos in 3 days? Christmas has come early 😅 looks like a fun little game 👌how does it compare in your opinions to cursed city?

Cracking unboxing, that.
Thanks!

1 star rating incoming. Free pen is life.
Modular cardboard terrain never lasts more than about 6 months. There’s been tons of games over the years that have already proved that.
False. My card Mordheim building still are fine, 15 years later
How much abuse are you doing to your cardboard terrain??
Disagree. I've a bunch of Battle systems terrain for several sci fi skirmish games, 5 Parsecs, Stargrave etc.. Has held up really well for several years.. Just store it properly and don't abuse it.. Stuff is sturdy
I feel like a creep for watching Ciara videos. I'll do my best to stop.
