Does it tilt up for launch and recovery? Are you able to maneuver while under mirage drive power or is the motor always stuck down in the water? I ran into all kinds of steerability problems with the Torqeedo 1103 (both while running and while not in use) until I fashioned hand-controlled steering of the motor itself. Fixed motor was a nightmare for me while actually fishing. Cool setup!
Hello 👋. Right so... This is my old set-up. Honda 2.3. This setup is fixed in down position. This is only because the breather leaks fuel everywhere. I have fixed this with new design. But I have no need to lift the motor up. It is short shaft and I've never hit bottom yet. At low speed it turns with hobie rudder reasonably well. I van slow right down and turn on the spot using 360 drive. I want a nice simple setup and don't want cables everywhere hence why it is fixed and only throttle is cable. It works well for what I designed it for.... I have nearly finished my new setup. 3.5hp mariner with f/n and throttle. With not cables at all. Fixed again but this one can be tilted up if needed with no leaking. No cables to go wrong. Upgraded aluminium rudder so steering will be much better again using 360 drive to turn on spot if needed. New video to follow soon when it stops bloody raining. Find me on fb harleykayakangler Any more q's ask away. Tightlines cheers 👊
@@KayakandBoatFishingUk awesome look forward to seeing the new design. Maybe you have a video on this but how do you launch and recover without dragging the prop?
@Ryan Frost I only need a foot of water to launch with motor so I wade out 1.5ft with dry trousers in winter or shorts in summer and jump in. It will launch in the same depth needed to drive to work fully 👍
@Ryan Frost I should have videos of me jumping in and zooming off on my yt?? I think 🤣. Basically it's the same as launching normal. Push out jump in away you go👍
Good setup. It certainly got you far out very quickly!
You know it bud👍 next setup is gunna be bigger and better. Next year we will be out all over weather permitting 👊

I’m pretty sure the answer is “gotta get wet” or use a dock ;)
