Hi I’m John Green and welcome to Crash Course music history!
this has to be the best recording of the dvoraks cello concerto i have ever listened to, your ability to demonstrate dvoraks grit and ambition for this piece really showed. great job
The BSO is a wonderful orchestra !!! Absolutely one of the best that I have ever heard. I don't know where to begin praising their sound, culture, and musicality.
Out of many performances I can find for Dvorak Cello Concerto on RUclips, this is probably my favorite, BRSO and Steckel are both phenomenal

Most beautiful cello music I have heard. Wonderful performance !!
Julian’s ideas and approach: magnificent; the whole interpretation: superb!!. Thank you!!
Julian plays a Cello by Urs Maechler and poplar wood coming out of my colection. Rich and deep sounded instrument. Brilliant.
Superb! Looking forward to your concert in Auckland NZ next February 🌹
Outstanding performance all around. Bravi!

33:30 looks like someone practiced their scales
Very nicely played.
Bravo
12:33 was a little different
That's what Dvorak wrote... The passage everyone plays is either the one by Casals (double stops with sixteenths) or Feuermann (Casal's version but with only sixteenths)
It's anticlimactic isn't it - Casals offered an improvement. Some people also play the original version before Wihan looked at the cello part, but Dvorak welcomed all the technical enhancements that Wihan offered, while rejecting the idea for a cadenza, i.e. things that altered the structure. I think in this spirit we can accept the Casals tradition without worrying too much!
Is he the lost Green brother?

Von einem Handwerker würde man Nachbesserung verlangen, vergleichen mit der Qualität die das Orchester liefert.
Wo passt deiner Meinung nach die Qualität nicht? Finde besonders die Blechbläser fantastisch!
