Well said, not going to lie I miss those old classic days. Will I ever do it again, hell no.
Grind in Classic has an end though... when you get an item and it is BiS, it stays bis either forever or for a veeeery long time. BiS on retail has lifespan about 3 months which means the grind never ends there.
@@lamebubblesflysohigh Yes "classic" has a end point, but this is about the people saying how retail is a grind. And wanted "classic" because they thought it wasn't a grind, people forget the pvp grind. Which I have no doubt could be argued was one of the worst grinds in any game hands down. Personally the people who say retail WoW turned into a grind, are frankly stupid. It's always been a grind, it's just they can't see it with the nostalgia glasses on. I sat around for months in retail with my thumb up my butt, because you also finish the grind between content. Only advantage people have now, is the vast amount of past content they can grind also. Personally I think when people "complain" about the grind, it's more they just burned out on the game. And want that "new" fun they had when they first started.
I was extremely tempted to play Classic, but I also knew hands down I couldn't even come close to doing the pvp grind now days. And pvp will be full of honor geared people mowing down casuals in months to come.
@@spencers4121 this is not how classic PvP works. Very few people will reach rank high enough to get epic pvp gear hence epics from raids will reign supreme. If you are being mowed by someone in pvp epic gear, chances are that they are in a premade and they would mow you down even in questing greens. You need only rank 10 to get pvp blues and some of these are better or on par with pre-raid BiS from pve so if you do not want to grind dungeons, you can get rank 10 which is obtainable even for casuals.

The ranking system reminds me alot of Star Wars Galaxies.
There you would also earn points during the week and then every Thursday there was a reset day, if you had not gotten enough points you would get a rank down, at a certain point level you would just keep the rank you had, and at another point level you could get a rank up.
Now in SWG npc kills would count, and destroying rebel/imperial bases would also give points, so that way it is different, only rebel and imperial npc's would count, since you couldnt attack neutral npc's.
Also there was no limit on how many could hold any rank.

How do DHKs work in week 1? Since there's no progress to be lost then it doesn't matter?

Are people aware of how much NR influences ranking? If all players who want a decent PVP rank crossed the minimum at all 9 alts (no high level needed) to enter NR, they would allow the brackets to be much wider (max x10).
Basically, low level alts would take the bottom 90% of the ranking list and thus push all the main characters on the server in the first few brackets.

Vanilla WoW Class Guide: PRIEST - PvE, PvP, Gear
Sooo, Rogue’s PvP set is basically going full T1 for 10 extra engage energy and more+better vanishes (and a few crit/hit% here and there, which notably serves you your PvP hit cap on a silver plate).
So aside from the PvP trinket and the rank 14 weapons, if you want better gear for PvP, best thing you can bet on is PvEing more.

it's possible to hit the honor bracket for the few worthy to hit rank 14 pre bgs. just a pain and a guild wide effort.

But you can't get te blue rank sets that is p5? So even if we grind to rank 10 before phase 5 that means we can't buy the set surely?

Not worth it, unless you really want the trinket.
To be honest pally gear for holy is ... not good at all. Your raid gear is far better if you want to pvp with it.
rank 10 for the full blue set, which has been confirmed by blue posts to be the naxx version of gear (which is about equivilent to BWL/AQ40 gear) and is very well itemized for holy ret and even prot. the only piece youd not use is the gloves, and maybe the helm/legs if you have t2 already.

Ive heard Dishonorable Kills dont affect ur rank first week due to everyone being equal and have no rank yet until next weeks reset.. Can you confirm if true or not?
i like classic but i find the pvp system disappointing, im skilled in pvp, but i dont have that kind of time, it feels like if i dont play 24/7 i get discriminated on by kids with no job or life. lol no thanks
This is hands down why I didn't come back for Classic, I don't have the time. And to be a little honest the desire to play 12 hours a day, just imagine months from now. All the casuals will be getting mowed down by honor geared neck beards.
I was watching swifty the other day, and he was talking about the up coming honor grind and his schedule. No joke the look on his face was heart breaking, he honestly looked like someone just ran over his dog as he was talking about the grind.
It's really not that bad I work full time and have a wife and five kids. Jesus yall are so dramatic XD

Achievements in general are discriminatory. I’m really good at being a doctor but they won’t let me operate just because I didn’t have the time to go to medical school? It’s just pure discrimination.

i kind of think they might because people will bitch about getting farmed in world pvp. They probably wouldn't do it for another month or two, but I do think they will end up doing it before phase 3 unlike what they have originally said.

literally 2 hours a day dedicated to pvp and you will hit rank 10. may take an extra week or two but you can play casual and get rank 10
couple hours a day, nothing insane tbh. Will happen over time
it becomes really casual friendly and fun once bg's come out. hell getting rank 13 when bg's comes out is pretty damn casually fun. pre bg's its a chore but nothing too crazy for rank 10.
What happen if you got dishonorable kills?
You loose a TON of honor. My friend back in original classic hit R14 but didn't buy the weapons before he went on an Ironforge PVP raid with us and ended up getting a DK cause someone else killed it. He stopped going for R14 after that..

So you need to be an unemployed bum or a streamer to achieve rank 14.
It helps, you also need friends, it's extremely difficult solo, but if you pvp a lot you will fall into the crowd.

84 % of AFK players in PvP are players ranked knight or higher...data pulled out of 100 AV games 7 days straight...15 years ago pvp rank had some meaning...now days people just mock you :)

PvP was dead since WoD released. Actually entire wow was dead when it released. Been playing wotlk for 10 years now on private. Since classic released, i have been playing both. The world pvp in vanilla is just great, but balance just doesnt exist. Well at least its fun. I think the best days for PvP was in wotlk and cata. For me, as much as people talk shit about cata, the pvp was pretty good. Overall the best expansion was wotlk. I hope they release it in some time, i have been mastering it for quite some time. Gonna own in pve and pvp.
the fact that its a honor kill to gank with a full raid of 60tis level 54 players is the most most stupid thing.
