Cool. That sounds reasonable. If you have the money to travel then that’s a good plan. I would suggest setting something aside to buy materials and do a small project or two for free/cheap just so you can get a feel for the material and have a few client testimonies.
Omni Media Group - it is noted to be between 16 and 18 feet tall (in the middle) - see other comments. An elite level shooter’s ideal arc tops out at between 15 and 17 feet - hardly plenty of room/no allowance for margin of error and that is on an elite level player. Having a constant concern of hitting the ceiling, could easily lead to the user developing a flatter shot. At the end of the day - these guys did a great job on the floor (their area of expertise) and the practicalities of the garage being used as a basketball court is irrelevant to that fact. But I cannot help question if the intention was to make it a mixed use garage/basketball court before the garage was built or not - having a rafter ceiling and what appears to be a reasonable pitch adds cost - given the severe limitations of the court itself - it seems like either not much thought was put into it, or they didn’t think it through - although could be other restrictions around planning, permits available space etc.
Sam Beaumont i didn’t realize Stephen Curry was going to be playing here regularly lol. It’s just their garage for family and friends to come play at. Most people aren’t going to be shooting 18 feet tall shots.
This is really awesome. I'm customizing a polebarn i believe it's called for a court/gym. Never thought to have lines done like this..Great idea..👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥
Nice garage court! Ceiling is plenty high for high school 3point line. Ball only goes 1ft or 2ft above backboard at highest peak from shooting 3. Glass windows can use blinds to stop ball. Great work overall! 👍
I saw the recommendation for spraying which would have avoided the bleed through. However, rolling is totally fine as well. Just do something called "back-painting" first. Once you tape off, roll a thin layer of whatever the color under the tape is, in this case clear. The clear will bleed and "fill the void" under the edge of the paint allowing your color coat to be perfectly crisp with no bleed through. You can apply this method across any type of painting project. Looks good though. Nice to see proper technique on application method and measurements.
i recently watched a video of someone putting sand into the paint for thier basketball court to prevent sliding and such when playing. what would be the benefit compared to sand that the epoxy and chips give you?
I think the main benefit is that a vinyl chip epoxy floor is meant to be driven on. I doubt a typical outdoor court surface would hold up very well as a garage floor.
What type of paint is used? Also did you seal the paint? I love the look of the tile garage floors with the parking guidelines. How would you attack that with epoxy?

Thanks! The ceiling isn’t an issue. It’s prob 18’ high in the middle.
You can only shoot three pointers from the top, just have to develop a horrible flat shot.
Sam Beaumont lol what? It’s super high in the middle. You can shoot normally

Does this type of floor offer good grip? I mean, if you're out there doing drills, or playing, provided you keep it clean, you won't slip?
Can this be laid over leveling underlayment? How long do you expect this to hold up without any issues?
is the flooring harsh for shoes and falls? vs say using wooden vinyl
Wood is softer than concrete… so wood would be better for falls.
If you put vinyl over concrete then it would probably be about the same.

Hey Tim, what kind of paint did you use? Oil base? Thank you sir.
Have you ever made polyaspartique on a outside concrete top?

Solid colored urethane.

we gotta see someone hoopin' on it!
Haha. I wanted to play... the lines were still wet when I left. 👍🏻
Can I do something like this to my drive way so the concrete isn’t so rough and doesn’t tear up my basketball shoes?
You can’t do an epoxy floor outside...but we do have a few different systems that we could do that would help you with that.
TimDCVA what would those be?
Probably a troweled concrete overlay. You can find info on my website. Check the link in the description of this video.
I would have made the floor yellow/orange, that would look better. In addition, a cool lighting and wall color would be certainly also quite nice
Is the garage ceiling high enough? I feel like the shots would get blocked unless their peak is really low
Yeah it didn’t bother me when I was shooting around. It’s around 18’ in the middle.
Didn't read through all the comments but could the lines have been painted before the final cost?
Doe the ball ever hit the ceiling when you shoot?
I didn’t shoot much...but I never hit the ceiling.

Can this be applied to an exterior concrete basketball court?
No... not with the chemicals that we use. Some companies have systems that work outside though.
Please let me know which companies you know of that can do that. Thanks

I think it was around 18 feet in the middle.
That sheet rock is going to take some hits
Would it be better to paint the lines first?
No...because then we would have to tape the lines twice. Once to paint them, and a second time to keep them clean while we do the floor.
How tall are those ceilings?
Not sure exactly...but I think they are around 18’ at the highest point.
TimDCVA so do you think 15 foot ceiling would be tall enough for a 10 foot hoop or would I need it to be like 8 or 9?
I want to do the same think but i dont have a garage what can i do
Very cool, one day I’ll do this
