As someone who's always been a fan of latin trumpet playing I'm surprised I missed this the first time I watched this movie.
If you like it or want more leave a comment (I know you guys love trolling my comment section) and like the video so the algorithm picks it up, or if you have a specific solo in mind leave that in the comments!

Do you remember hearing this when you first watched this movie?
Nope, but now that I'm finished with 2 years of band I've been more aware of crazy instrumentals like this. Haha!
Oh yeah, I played this part on loop on my Xbox 360 when this movie came out, that solo has been thoroughly engrained in my mind.
Yes
Yes it lived rent free in my head a while.
Yeah I can confirm I have functioning ears.
he was ruthless, he was dangerous. and as the name implied, he was very... macho
He had a reputation for pulling off heists, using only his bare hands!
But sadly, like all the greats, he was gone too soon
He died in the most macho way possible: riding a shark with 250 pounds of dynamite strapped to his chest into the mouth of an active volcano.
@@isavenewspapers8890They never found his body!

The entire concept of El Macho has been living rent free in my mind for years now, and just as I’m about to forget about him, this banger solo keeps him alive

Dad lore before mom:
I’d been unfairly assuming Heitor Pereira’s music was boring because of the minions’ reputation, but this and Puss in Boots 2 have proven me very wrong
He’s a very overlooked composer, I’m glad he’s finally starting to get attention because of Puss in Boots
@@joellim6988 The minions went from nice little side characters to a pop-culture behemoth that seemed inescapable for a while in the mid-late 10s which makes them very easy to dislike. Imagine a middle-aged woman’s Facebook post about day drinking with a minion going like this 🤭🤫 and you get the image many people have of them. The fact that two separate movies whose title characters’ only coherent line is “banana” made over a billion dollars is gonna rub some people the wrong way

@@oesphogianthroatcancerpoli3591
As a Mexican myself, I thought he was pretty awesome.
El Macho feels like a Super Hero styled Super Villain. Like, he performs villainy, but he does so in a similar way to how a Super Hero performs heroism!
That's Mexican wrestling for you, they are not called heels they are called "Los Rudos" and they are equally popular as the rest of the luchadores. It's less about stories and more about showmanship for everyone involved which is the reason they always wear elaborate costumes and masks, just like supers.
"And when everyone's a luchadore ... no one will be," or something like that.
I overdosed on heroin
We need more villains with showmanship like El Macho.
@@homemadehistorian2590 PRESENTATION!!
I've been saying for years El Macho's theme was underrated.
Glad to see others starting to notice how much of a banger it is
Sammmeeeeee
I distinctly remember drawing a Wild West desperado type OC when I was a kid and mentally choosing this as his theme
I guess I’m not the only one that felt it
Youve been saying that to who?? Who tf were you speaking to about this
@PurpleBroadcast everyone, but nobody was ready to listen until now lol
The fact he payed after getting his drink shows that despite being a villain, he still got manners.

I saw a comment about El Macho saying that this is basically every dad before getting married, and it still has me laughing
I love it how they somehow lose the ability to dive into an active volvano whilst riding a shark and being strapped with 200 pounds of dynamite, AND still come out alive, just from marrying their dream girl alone.

And still had enough time for a quick drink, what a man
He's not just pure muscle, he's a very macho planner.
Heitor Pereira is a really underrated composer IMO.
Ok
Nah. He's incredible average. Very appropriately rated.

Fancy turkey?!
el macho lives on through you
Heitor Pereira is an incredible composer and deserves for you to listen to his soundtracks in isolation. Next time you have some chores or homework to do, slap in one of his soundtracks and just enjoy it. You’ll notice things like recurring rhythms and instruments to signify certain characters or moments that you might not even acknowledge otherwise.
That is incredibly standard for a soundtrack lol. Every Composer will do this for every score

Plot twist! El macho knocked him cold and stole his money so he could pay for this drink
@@AnAveragePurplePikminwhy is this sounds like something he would actually do?
I ALWAYS loved that solo from that scene, every single time I watched that movie. It added to the drama so well, and sounds beautiful.
This track has to be the soul reason he was brought on to create the Puss in Boots 2 soundtrack. Honestly an amazing time to listen to with great Spanish flair
If I had a nickel for every time i saw a kids movie get a sequel that turned it into a spy movie that critics think is the worst in the series, but in reality is actually a really fun movie to watch, I’d have 2 nickels.
whats the other movie? oh yea cars 2
same tbh i love despicable me 2
i thought the worst rated despicable me movie was "minions" or despicable me 3
I mean this doesn’t really work because Despicable Me 1 was also a “spy” movie.
Critics think that this is worse than Despicable Me 3?

We were so caught with Gru’s dialogue and the visuals that we hardly noticed the music, now I listen to this on repeat just because
How did no one yet realised a detail, that after he hits the guy out of a truck it looks like the truck is tilted as if he was getting in it to drive and was too heavy, but in actuality he just lifts it and carries it.

Despicable Me 2 was a pretty underrated movie in general tbh. not only is it a sequel, its legacy is also attached to the minions sadly.
putting that aside tho, i did really enjoy this one
THIS WAS LITERALLY MY FAV THEME IN THE ENTIRE OST YOU HAVE NO IDEA AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I MISSED THIS HOLY COW BRO
As a kid i would rewatch this scene over and over just for this absolute BANGER to play
Thanks for reminding me about this one
Ever since I first saw this scene years ago I loved his theme and always replayed this part a few times. Character themes are just as important as the characters themselves
Even though I couldent hear it this clearly without editing out the other sound this was why it was my favorite scene in the movie plus I like el macho as a villain
POV: me describing my dad to my friends in 1st grade if he got mad:

El Macho is the personification of sheer epicness.
I didn’t miss it… it was freaking badass to me as a kid!
Same 😂
I listened to the full thing, and the 20 sec intro thats not in this video actually starts off with the main Despicable Me theme, then the strings and sounds start playing and we hear the vocals. Shows how he is stealing the spotlight during this segment of the movie
Best villain "presentation" ever.
The scene reminds me again why i like Despicable Me 2: El Macho
Kids? Didn't this movie come out like 4 years ago-
Oh my God, this movie is over a decade old.
Despicable Me 2 is an underappreciated gem
Bruh the solo continues after this part and gets even more lit
I love how even though he was shown to be a popular villain, he still has decency. Pays for his drink, no casualties during his bank robbery, performs his most macho stunt without endangering anyone else, treats his son well, is kind and friendly to his customers and mall neighbors
I didn’t miss it 😎 I’ve always loved this soundtrack haha. Glad it’s come to life
how did i not realize this banger of a solo as a kid
When I heard "Assemble the Minions" and its awesome instrumentation for the first time, I knew that this composer was GOATed
I think I'll rewatch movies and series just to hear the music. I remember rewarding an anime and noticed a banger soundtrack that I never payed attention to because of story and what not. You never know what hidden gems are discovered if you dig hard enough
Tell me i'm not the only crazy who's still hearing the voices and sound effects
"Murio en la forma mas macha posible"
This music makes me feel so proud to be Mexican, and I’m not even Mexican.
Also can we appreciate that El Macho, despite obviously being a villain, was at least civil enough to pay for his drink?
He then seals the bank van for money to follow the 10% rule, so hes economically super.
Yeah, but he didn't pay for the damage he caused to the wall

El Macho is my favourite thing to come out of the Despicable Me franchise, he is way too hilarious a concept for those movies
I love how the trucks chassis hits the ground making you thing the joke is that he’s so buff the truck can barely hold him, then it’s revealed that he was actually just picking it the fuck up. It hits so much harder than if we just saw him lift it from the other side.
El Macho is possibly one of the best villains I’ve seen in an animated movie.
As a trumpet player, that is IMPRESSIVE
I can see why Chris Meledandri recommended him when working on Puss in Boots 2. I still wish that they kept some of Henry Jackman's themes from the first film cause I still liked them
I always loved this, I'm amazed if there's anyone who actually missed it.
The clams at the end was the click for my brain as a kid
I found that almost every "Despicable Me" music is awesome
A real man's man. We should all aspire to be as tough as him.
Glad that people started noticing this banger. Was obssesed with it when I was 9.
Ive always been pretty good with hearing music (and not much else) and I loved this scene a lot because of the music even when I was young
It’s funny to think of him just carrying the truck instead of driving
As someone who plays the trumpet, I can say that this looks very hard
I remember it. But by then, I assumed they never released a score for it.
favorite movie solo of all time
El Macho is a villain, and yet he still paid for his drink before leaving. I guess professionals have standards after all.
Well, at least he paid for his drink.
This was actually my favorite scene of the movie just because of the music!
POV: you're 6 years old and you start cleaning, and then you hold up to chairs with both hands, with this song in the background.
My immediate thought when seeing the title was 'I wasn't a kid when this came out, I saw it in the movies a couple years ago.' It was released in 2013, it's been almost 11 years. I was 9 years old.

That's such a banger, Heitor Pereira went crazy on this funny villain film, the music alone made El Macho even more Macho
At first I was like "wdym as kids? This movie isn't that old."
It came out in 2013.
That was ten years ago.
This movie is a decade old.
You'd still have to be born after 2000 to say that.
@@lotus_flower2001Is it just me or everything feels like it's been centuries since we last saw or heard it
I did not realized this theme goes so hard like wtf
We NEED an el macho solo movie
It took me this many years and this video to realise there’s a chorus that occasionally goes “El Macho” in the background
I always noticed this music and thought that it was one of the best aspects of the entire film.
Miss? Speak for yourself! I knew this was a banger the first time i heard it and have been looking forward to this scene every time i decide to rewatch the movie.
In the 2017 version of Ferdinand there is a song called ‘There's Been a Mistake’ And the guitar at the end of that song is what I remember most from the movie
I like how he atleast pays for his drink
yet another fine addition to my "algorithm strikes again" playlist
His legs are too small for this massive solo
skipping leg day dosent bother him, cuz hes just that guy
After even one time watched Puss in Boots The Last Wish, I always will have association with these instruments, BUT NOW AND EL MACHO TOO
I never missed that as a kid, when I was younger I knew that scene was great BECAUSE of the song
Studio: Don't give much attention to this song, will only be there for 30 seconds and never will appear again
Heitor Pereira: Say no more
never missed it, the trumpet was always my favourite part lol
Still wished El Macho had gotten more screen time. Hopefully he'll return one day
They made a whole orchestra for just 30 seconds
i love that he doesnt drink the snake venom and tequila, he EATS the glass the drink is in.
shoutouts to the male choir chanting "EL MACHO!"
Ah yes, a villain that is actually good at being evil
It's not about the theme man, it's all about El Macho who lives rent free in my head. He was way ahead of his time. Most badass indeed.
I’ve probably watched this over 50 times now and it’s still not getting boring.
All the music in the Despicable Me movies is quite good, actually. It's very similar to The Incredibles in style; brassy, spy-esque. Glad to see this get some attention
I genuinely haven't seen this movie since it came out, and at that point I definitely wasn't as passionate about trumpet as I am now. And... well...
I think I know what I'm gonna be doing all of today...

Damn
i love el macho cause yeah he's a villain and frankly really scary but at the same time he's a nice guy
love that he still has the courtesy to pay for his drink
I like the the fact that he willingly payed for what ever he bought (even having a tip by the lokjs of it) then proceeded to steal a while truck if koney for the sole purpose of stealing money with the truck as a bonus
