I actually like that he still kept his job. He realized that all it took was trying some new things to make himself happy. He didn't have to quit his job and start some new life. All he had to do was eat some pancakes, talk to a woman, and swim in the ocean. Then, he has no problem going to work. It's about balance.
I went travelling to South East Asia in 2019 and I ended up staying for over 2 years because of covid. I went from working in a boring office with some miserable people to teaching English to children in a popular beachside city.
