You can try and disable it in another way. Try the following: type in the Windows-search menu 'local security policy' also called 'secpol.msc' (opening as administrator is preferred). Click on 'local policies', click on 'security options' and then search for the file 'Interactive Logon: don't display last signed-in'. Normally, it should be disabled, if you want the 'other user'-screen, you should enable it! Hope this was helpful!

When I shutdown and turn the PC back-on there is username and password option, instead it shows my name and lets me sign in unless I click switch user then I type in username and password. please help I have 2 user accounts on my laptop
For logging into the computer preset administrator account, you just type 'Administrator' without a password and hit enter. Normally - factory settings - that should work.

Make sure you opened the right maps; check once more that you have the right key. It could also be because you didn't open the Registry as an Administrator.

You can remove it by just changing the 'valuedata' back to 0 (cf. step 5 at 6:15)!
