This guy does ranged attacks for gespensts the way Kai does melee attacks for gespensts. That is to say, he's one of two people in the OG series that can make a Gespenst not suck.
I don't know about the OGS version, but in OG2 he simply pilots the disembodied torso of the Zweizergain in order to use the System XN, the only remaining part of the XN Geist. Then again, I never did get the true ending, so it's possible that he momentarily summons it for/after the bonus battle...
Gespents are badass i agree. Not only because the Alt is my favorite OG mech but gespent plasma stake attack rocks. Put major Kai in that gespent and ownage
Gamefaqs or some other game walkthrough sites should probably have that info. It's an Original Generations (PS2) only unit, as I am 100% sure it is NOT obtainable in the GBA version of either Original Generation 1 or 2

Make sure you combined the right Gilliam with a valid Gespenst.
Alt Eisen and Weiss Ritter are converted Gespenst Mk III prototypes. So they are kinda Gespensts too.
