If you'd like to try this out for yourself (or just see a detailed recap of how the run goes), here's a link to the route I used (which I made myself): docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTG9H9y5USRDlDSwcjJ1nQIouf9G5_d8d51g3ZMke-GtAtO6RMNs0TNlatRuXdHaTtW5qMdwAf7DyYd/pubhtml The only fight-related RNG is the 95% collects on Garnet and Stenvar, getting x100 XP and x10 JP from Alrond on the Foreign Assassins (which I think is around a 1/3 to get in the 6 summons you have), and there's a rare chance in the Masterly Mysterious Travelers fight for H'aanit to take a free action after the first turn, which can potentially mess things up.
Also, since I messed them up in this run, I made a demo recording of how the Extra Battles look when done properly: ruclips.net/video/Qpza3RzRR3A/видео.html
Bro I loveeer all your speedruns! ❤ I cannot defeat True Vide The Wicked yet 😢😅 this fucking boss is so annoying and punitive! I make a new save just for building Castti to do the DPS needed 😅 and still is not working so well...
For the build here, Castti needs near-maxed out elemental attack and level 80+. Also make sure you are switching to your staff before using concoct. If you want you could follow the route on your playthrough. The thing about this strat is that there's a fair bit of nuance to it that isn't explained too well in the route (e.g. precise speed stats for springy boots turn order). Check out the "True Vide the Wicked 100% consistent strategy" that I made, it's more suited to standard playthroughs and is better documented (and the only nuts it requires is enough to get 999 physical attack on hikari with BT blade and 500 critical with giant's club)
if you were making a tier list for the power levels of usefulness of the travelers, how would you rate them? I mainly used Osvald and Hikari in my playthrough but a lot of people tend to rate Osvald fairly low as he's not very useful in the endgame fights (though it seems like you used him as a secondary DPS for your lower level Galdera clear and your 100% no RNG True Vide the Wicked clear)
I wouldn't say any character in this game is "bad", but Osvald is the least versatile (since the only role that his base job and latent help him do is magic dps). Add in that e.def down is hard to access and he's hard to get use out of (especially since the other 2 characters that do good magic dps have better supportive toolkits). Osvald as main dps is good on galdera phase 1 and solid in both true vide fights. I've joked about Osvald being a disappointment every time I've had to build around him (e.g. needed an attack buff/critical scope for the true vide the wicked fights, needed hired help to supplement damage in the galdera guide, and even the HP nuts needed in this run for him to tank hits). The boss fights in this run all don't involve RNG (besides the 95% collects on garnet and stenvar, alrond RNG on the assassins, and h'aanit potentially getting an RNG extra turn). As an aside, the main reason that Castti is the main dps for the extra battles is that she's actually my only way of killing True Vide the Wicked's right arm without needing to either get better defensive gear, more ochette beasts, or stone of truth (and additional levels). I'd say that from a pure combat perspective Castti is the best overall (ignoring the Ochette glitch), with Hikari, Ochette, and Throne (in no particular order) making up the rest of the top 4. If I'm looking specifically at making optimized strategies, then Partitio and Agnea both have good latent powers that make them useful if the strategy needs it (Partitio also has unique access to that OP divine protection NPC). Osvald and Temenos imo bring the least to the table for optimized strats (Osvald mainly has his single target damage output, and Temenos has his night passive, second EX skill, and the cleric job). If looking at usefulness for a normal playthrough, I don't think you can really rank them tbh. I've done quite a few playthroughs and everyone has more than pulled their weight. I even did a meme run where every character needed to be the main damage dealer for their own story chapters (and as a bonus challenge, I didn't let myself use the same strat on 2 different characters).
@@Chewythebigblackdog good to hear your thoughts on them! Sad that Osvald needs to extra help whenever you play around him, but I definitely felt he was solid when I managed to eek out my 100% of the game
@@septets tbh it’s not that he needs extra help, it’s just that I overestimate him lol. The final result is still impressive (e.g. both of the times I’ve had him kill true vide the wicked’s right arm, he’s the only character who could have done it with the conditions I was working with, despite said conditions being more than I had initially planned). As for the HP nuts, it’s not osvald’s fault that I need one of the squishiest characters in the game to take hits from the hardest 2 fights in the game at level 33.
@@Chewythebigblackdog as a side note, is the 100% no RNG Vide shown in this video better/faster to pull off, or your previous one with Hikari as the main DPS?
@@septets This one is more tailored to a speedrun, so it doesn't care at all about expending limited resources (e.g. ancient cursed talismans, decaying dragon's essences) while also not having access to several of the tools that I had for the hikari one (namely the purification support skill, a better ochette beast selection, and stone of truth). Learned skills also take more time to get than Castti's potency weapons. My other kill also used a higher level Osvald which is infeasible to get in the run, since only 4 characters can come to assassins, and partitio, throne, and castti are required to go (once you add hikari you have no more room). tl;dr: the other kill is better suited to normal playthroughs, this one is better suited for speedruns

I didn't know there's a glitch you could use in OT2
There's a few. As for the useful ones, there's one that lets you steal/purchase the same item multiple times, and there's a glitch that lets you summon "boss" monsters with ochette's EX skill. In this run neither is particularly useful tbh (the ochette one might let you break true vide the wicked more efficiently by spamming tera, so if I allowed glitches it would probably save like 15s).
@@Sunrise_Blitz it lets you steal/purchase the same item multiple times, which effectively duplicates it. This video shows the glitch off at around the 12 minute mark: ruclips.net/video/6JHHqpkfD-A/видео.htmlsi=qQq56hm4riDfivIE
