    Personally, i split my 2 parties based on whether they came from the east or west and didnt touch the others beyond their chapter 1 until i was completely done with the other 4.
    So i started with Osvald and i picked up Tem, Throné, and Ochette and i was ride or die with them until it was time

    Regarding party comp, there's really two good ways to do it. You can split the game in half, playing with two full parties one after the other. The standard teams for this are "all east" and "all west" as this results in good party comp for combats as well as giving you access to every path action in both day and night (and those are the "only" two parties that have access to all path actions during both day and night.)
    The other way to do it is to use your main, cycle healers (whichever is lower level) and then cycle the bottom two slots into whoever is the lowest level at the time. The up side is that the pacing is better, as doing the "two full parties" method has tonal whiplash after your first team finishes all their chapters, and your second party will find the game very easy since you'll have end game gear. The down side to cycling characters like this is that you'll at times find you won't have access to path actions without having to run back to the tavern.

    Another tip: If an area you're about to enter warns it is higher level than you, just don't do it. Anything more than one or two levels above you and you will get your arse handed to you on a platter. There are ways of reducing the encounter rate, and improving your chance of fleeing battle, so you can maybe risk a quick dash through an area, but be sure to save first!

      I would say, with exception to the cavern of waves by beasting village. With evasive maneuvers and possibly step ahead and the skill that lets you run from battle easier, you can raid it, get the JP augmentor , and then just fast travel out of the dungeon. It’s a level 45 dungeon that should be visited after you recruit all eight travelers.

    I would argue Temenos as a great starting character. He has guide during the day and can easily recruit and NPC, in Flamechurch Who has mental augmentation, which can be rather useful very early in the game until you get something better. He is also very close to Oswald, throne, and the inventor job class which I stick on him immediately until I recruit one of those two characters. At night he has the coeore skill that you can use to uncover hidden items in towns, discounts at inns, And all other useful things. Instant heals, a quick route to a three party team, one of the two quickest routes to your first secondary job that also allows him to have some physical presence. Add in the fact that he has a skill that restores SP and his light magic being pretty deadly and I would probably amend my statement to say he’s the best character overall to start with.

  • @funniloneliboi
    @funniloneliboi 3 месяца назад +4

    The Inventor secret job is also pretty good at figuring out basic enemy weaknesses using its Changeable Catapult skill, especially if you give it to someone like Throné with high speed or manage to get the job’s first passive skill.

    Apothecary as a starter is my personal preference. Little healing little damage. Id say that might be a good choice as a begginer

    As someone who had the tail end of his Octopath Traveler run carried by runelord Therion, I was really inclined to start my OT2 story with Throné. Also her starting attributes ahem ahem were a thing to behold! But, since my starting pick in OT1 was Olberic, I had to stay true and go with Hikari.
    Watching your video and playing the game for about an hour I realized that most of the mechanics in OT2 don't differ much (if at all) from their OT1 counterparts. Which is fine since the original game's formula was pretty spot on. Thanks for the quick tips and may the caits be slow and aplenty!

    Started with Throne, found Osvald fairly early, but could not for the life of me find Temenos. Suffice to say, Throne's boss fight in a part of Ch. 2 with just two in the party was brutal. Ended up grinding to about 8 levels above the boss just to get through ti, and I had definitely searched for, purchased or stolen all the best gear I could find.

      Oh my god, I'm on Bergomi right now, and he's the bane of my existence. How did you beat him? He's flattened my Throné-Temenos-Osvald team every time I've tried!

    • @annmousxusr
      @annmousxusr 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@bisurkerI had the exact same team as you.
      What I did, is focus on one grunt first with throne and Oswald while temenos heals your team in the back. Then take out the other grunt the same way. Then obviously I broke the boss, and then I spammed (M) SoulStones that I found or stole, when his shield was down. Also if my temenos couldn't heal I would use thrones life steal attack.

    Hey, looking for some advice. Are we supposed to gather our party of 4 and then play through their chapters or play through 1st chapters of all 8?

    • @Sector6UK
      @Sector6UK  Год назад +7

      Personally i did chapter 1 for each character first so i had everyone.
      Then i did everyones 2, then 3 etc...
      Now I'd probably recommend to do everyones chapter 1 and then do the lowest "Recommended Lvl" chapter available whether it's 2,3 4 etc.

    Part of me wondered (except maybe at the very end)... if you're going to have 8 characters, why is it only a party of 4? It is really easy of some of them to fall behind, some really aren't good, and there is the annoyance of equiping and unequiping. I would almost prefer that there was no main character that was stuck in the party, and that there were 2 parties (east and west party) with separate inventories. I found the apothecary and beastling to be so much incredibly better than everyone else, and with my main character wizard, I only really rotated one slot depending on the episode.

    I'm pretty late to the party here, but if you still read these comments:
    I'm usually a multiplayer guy (D2, CoD, BF, FFXIV etc.) with the occasional Dark Souls and Souls Like games. But for some reason the past few months I've really been on a Singplayer game streak (God of War i.e.). Now I've heard and seen quite the positive reviews about this piece of entertainment.
    But would this game really be interesting for someone like me? I like all the Japanese style things and I have quite the weakspot for it (being a weeb in middleschool got me into FFXIV and now 8 or 9-ish years later I still play that). However I've never played a JRPG style game such as this.
    Is combat fun? Even though you just select an attack etc.
    Not much of a story guy, but I can appreciate a decent storyline being there.
    How about time to complete main story/campaign? (Im not into 100% stuff)
    Is there replayability? If yes, how much so?

    • @Sector6UK
      @Sector6UK  Год назад +3

      I would honestly say the best thing to do would be to grab the demo, I believe it's still available on all platforms the game released on. That's going to be the easiest way for you to see if you can get to grips with it/enjoy the gameplay.
      Completion time realistically could take anything from 65-80 hours (the main story is pretty beefy)
      Replayability, sort of
      Yuu can do things in a slightly different order, dive deeper into the side quests, take on the games superboss etc. But you can do all of this in one run.
      I adore the game so I'd at the very least recommend checking the demo out.
      And thanks for watching/commenting, I hope you fall in love with the game like I did!

      Did you ever end up picking it up? I recently got this game a few days ago.. and I was quite skeptical but holy hell am I glad I picked it up! It's like the jrpg all others have failed to be the last decade.. also about your story line and jrpg skit, I'm sure you haven't but you should really look into the og ff7! By far my favorite game of all time.. before 7 I would have never had any interest in these kinds of games! It completely and utterly changed the way I perceive story, true jrpg elements, music, and character development! To say jrpgs changed my life would actually be pretty accurate.. may have even saved my life if I'm being honest! Anyway sorry for the book, I hope you picked up op2! And I hope you give ff7 a chance! Or even watch a story recap on RUclips or something it truly is worth your time! 😅
