Ortwin Grüttner attempts to put up a new world record, trying to run as many marbles as possible on only one marble run.
The run measures 25 meters in length and has an approximate width of 50cm.
On February 27th, 2015, a total of 10.000 marbles (made of glass, measuring 15-17mm in diameter) were released on the run.
Record conditions: The 10.000st marble must be released before the first marble crosses the finishing line. The flow of marbles mustn’t come to a stop during the run.
Venue: Freizeitheim Ricklingen, Ricklinger Stadtweg 1, 30459 Hannover

Why are these so fascinating? Honestly, this one makes me think of what might happen during an apocalypse, if every marble were a citizen.
I am so pleased there are bonkers people who do this so I can enjoy it without having to do it myself.

I honestly have not seen anything like this in my life, it's weird but enjoyable all in one, the marbles are like ants coming to get us and yes the sound reminds me of rain, amazing stuff.

Coming from a middle class family living in an apartment I remember playing marble games with kids on the street. I always wanted to play as good as they did, but could never manage. They had this crazy skills and drive to win games and get all my marbles. I simply went home told mom and bought another 100 marbles. Lost them again and again and again. I never knew what they did with winning 1000's of marbles they had won. Finally one day I ask and they said they would sell it to glass recyclers so they can make money and contribute to the household ...couple street orphans to take care of themselves. But they always smiled and had a blast playing. That's why I would say now, No matter how hard your situation. Pursue careers and goals that make you happy too. Work a job that you enjoy too.
Not sure why, soon after I stopped playing. Moved on to other things. Now I feel like I should of kept playing and losing.
I hope those 10000 marbles have a good journey too
