    Nash also secured a 400,000 dollar bonus because of the fake diesel thing. WCW had Nash on paper to be WCW talent. But when WWE announced Diesel was coming back, WCW panicked and offered Nash a one-time payment of $400,000 to be absolutely secured beyond a question of a doubt. He signed it on the spot, and when WWE revealed fake Diesel, WCW must've felt stupid.

      @Brian Babin I was born in 81 so you don’t have to tell me! It’s fashionable to slag off Hogan online now especially by younger wrestling fans who never saw Hogan in WCW let alone in the 80’s WWF. Hulk Hogan was my favourite wrestler until 1991 when the Undertaker became my favourite wrestler and him beating Hogan for the WWF Championship was the icing on the cake. I know Brock Lesner gets a lot of money but he never drew in crowds or got people watching wrestling like Hulk Hogan did and was worth every dollar he was paid. And come 96 Stone Cold Steve Austin had overtaken Undertaker as my favourite and with nWo I preferred Nash & Hall (I hated Diesel in WWF) over Hogan but it was Hogan as the 3rd man which was the catalyst for the biggest boom in wrestling making it “cool” to be a wrestling fan as well

    Honestly, the WWF Bret deal wasn't that ridiculous. It was just a bit more than HBK and Undertaker were making per year, and that made sense as Bret was a longer term star than either of them. He would eventually have been phased into an office and standby role and paid more like 500k a year towards the end of that deal.

    • @Stonewall2

      Bret was actually being paid $1.5 million in that deal, not the $1 million stated in this video, which was double what Shawn and Taker were on at the time ($750,000/year)... a lot would argue that Bret was still worth that money but given a combination of factors, including that other stars would soon demand that kind of money if Bret stayed, the difficult financial position WWF were in at the time (although they had passed the worst of it by the time they got rid of him), the lack of creative ideas they had for Bret going forwards (according to Bret, they were just going to have him lose to Shawn a lot), and Vince's preference for Shawn Michaels, who was 8 years younger than Bret so had more time left in his career, Vince decided to get rid of him... he probably banked on WCW not having any idea what to do with Bret so probably preferred losing him to WCW than Shawn, who would likely have fitted in well there with his real life friends Nash and Hall

Then stays with MMA. Guess what? Gets fired from MM@ for what you say? Failed drug tests. Stays away from everything and returns to WWE. I think he may of failed twice more sense but over drugs that help you heal faster. All wrestlers say 350 can't do it without a little help. Still couldn't do it with Vince bankrolling some if not alot. Brock even said he fucked during this time and Vince still stuck with him. Personal, professional, financial, and emotional. If I'm not mistaken he said Vince was pretty much a 2nd father to him. His dad was his dad but Vince was a dad when it came to business. Helping with contracts and business deals. Not to spread himself to thin or take deals that he might not be able to for full. Brock likes Vince like Cena does. They all made each other money. Cena I think owes WWE 10 or 15% of everything that has his name attached to. Cena claims he don't care cause 1. They made his name that valuable and 2. They invested in him. It could of failed and they would owe if it blew up.

    Lesnar didn't initally leave the UFC because of a failed test, it was because he'd had 12 inches of his colon removed due to diverticulitis. And when he lost back to back fights, one of which it was pretty obvious he was not himself in and the other because he was kicked literally in the area that had just been operated on, it was pretty obvious he wasn't going to be able to do it anymore. My personal belief though is that he had been talking to WWE before that last fight and knew he was probably going back, Vince had after all had Undertaker go to one of the fights to try and goad Brock into coming back, and when Brock was asked about it he played it off like they had an actual issue.
    The failed test came 5 years later in his last fight at UFC 200. And it wasn't because Dana was having none of it, in fact Brock was one of Dana's cash cows. USADA, which was UFC's drug test partner at the time, had a rule that you couldn't come back after an extended period unless you did 6 months of clean testing. But because Lesnar had been out for 5 years, they gave him an exemption to that rule. However, when Lesnar popped after the fight, that wasn't a good look and Mark Hunt, Brock's opponent, was and still is kicking up a stink about it.
    They did try getting him back, they wanted him to fight Daniel Cormier 2 years later. To the extent that they did a whole angle where Brock came into the octagon, talked some shit and shoved DC after he beat Stipe Miocic for the HW championship the second time. And there was a lot of talk that part of the reason Brock wasn't happy with how WM34 went, was because he wanted to drop the belt to Roman and go do that fight but Vince wouldn't let him. In fact from memory Paul Heyman was mentioning the UFC a lot in his promos during this time. Whether that's true or not I don't know, but either way it never eventuated.

    Sad thing is most of these athletes wasted the money on drugs, outlandish parties and stupid business decisions. Lesnar wouldn't stand a chance against a real clean man like Mark Henry. I hate when great athletes feel the need to take steroids when most don't need it and then act like they are natural freaks. You guys do what Mark Henry has done, drug free and then you can beat your poorly tattooed chest like your actually somebody ✌🏽♥️

    Were there any KISS fans still alive in 98-99? that band has always sucked and even being involved with them was stupid because they hadn't had a hit in 20 years..Anyone who grew up liking KISS doesn't have good taste in anything.

    So technically the Montreal Screw job was brought about because Bret Hart was being difficult

    • @drnastyful
      @drnastyful Год назад

      In a way, yes. The dark side of wrestling episode on the screwjob laid it out pretty well, i watched it a month ago so i may be fuzzy on all the details. Bret was supposed to be able to have creative control of how he left the company and his plan was to beat shawn in his home country then on raw give up the belt and vince really hated it and they couldn't come to an agreement so he just told hebner and michaels what was gonna happen and misled bret to think he was getting his way.
      I think if they could've hashed out the details it could've been smoother but I think bret was owed the finish he wanted after vince gave him an ok 20 year offer then went back on it. The fact he disrespected bret after all that loyalty really sucks but also bret was stubborn about montreal. I can see both sides but vince definitely screwed a difficult wrestler lol.
