I like how Kevin Nash and to a lesser extent HBK is trying to make people move on because it was in the past. These guys ruined lives, took money out of families pockets, and destroyed moral. A junky, a drunk, a complete asshole, and the guy screwing the bosses daughter. Sad shit when u really think about it
Another great video from Stunned by wrestling. A bit of a double edged sword knowing what really went/goes on behind the scenes. Sometimes it’s better to believe your heroes are just that and not the villains. No one ever said life or wrestling is fair, but sometimes it’s nice to think it is. LOL.
Yeah I remember the 123kid beating Razor Ramon, it was at a time in the WWF when the weekly shows were always where the big names in the company faced opponents no one had ever heard of and they always got beaten easily and everyone thought that the 123kid would get beaten as he was an unheard wrestler.
well he was not a unheard wrestler by that point has he was in the company for a few months under different gimmicks i think he was just the kid or the lighting kid when he beat Razor and that's how he got the 1-2-3 Kid Gimmick
@@Rockhound6165I was around in the 90s. I get that it was fashionable to misspell common words, and substitute letters to appear hip and edgy. It looked stupid then, and still does.
17:04 for those who weren’t born yet and didn’t get to watch the late 80’s through the early/mid 90’s just look up “The WWF Curtain Call Incident” as he said in the video this was a time when kayfabe was heavily enforced and you’d never catch a “good guy” & a “bad guy” walking in the same area off screen let alone standing in the middle of a WWF ring after a steel cage match in the world’s most famous arena. Worth mentioning that the Steel Cage Match main event featured Kevin Nash(Heel at the time)was wrestling Michaels(baby face) HBK won of course & being Nash & Hall’s last night in the company during HBK’s celebration & music playing Nash got up & they hugged in the middle of the ring as the music still played Scott Hall(He’ll at the time) walked to the ring, very shortly followed by HHH(baby face) Whom after they had embraced other stood in a line and held each others hands up. Thus shocking the crowd not only breaking any hope of kayfabe for the older audience who had followed wrestling their whole lives but literally KILLED KAYFABE for a whole the whole younger generation erasing the “good guy vs bad guy” stuff they’d seen on tv & confirming to them “my friends were right wrestling is fake & I can’t believe I didn’t already know looking back on it) thus the now world famous “curtain call” was born bc it drew the curtain so to say on kayfabe
I genuinely think it was the kliqs idea for one of them to marry Stephanie. All they ever talk about is taking over wrestling companies and look at triple H now. More belts than he should have and head of creative after that embarrassment of a reign of terror.
I respect Shane Douglas and Chris Candido, but those gimmicks Vince gave them were doomed from the start, Kliq or not. Now Bam Bam and Vader on the other hand...
Bam Bam was a great heel his downfall was when Vince turned him face and Vader was never gunner be the guy, Vince never pushed something that was not his own creation
If your heroes were Mick Foley or The Rock I would say you are safe. They seem to have no blemishes on there record. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think anybody has a bad word to say about those 2.
Kliq definitely was the hated group in wrestling, think about it they destroyed WcW. Half of Kliq goes to WcW and forms another name as Nwo then it turned to NwO red almost everyone was NwO in WcW which destroyed the company lol. While the other half of Kliq formed Dx which helped change wrestling during attitude era. Talked Vince into making certain people champions and helped Push Brett Hart out , One member of Kliq Marries into McMahon family and now is part of running it. Of course there is so many other things about the Kliq lol
yep he's literally just booking his boys strong proof of this is everything he's done with seth rollins who's this generations triple h a brown noser to the higher ups and a guy who carries certain people's bags.
Makes sense why HHH’s heart gave out. Imagine the stress of having to get 4 alcoholic coke heads to the next city on time, without getting pulled over, and wrestle every night for almost 5 years
my only issue with this video is saying vince was mad. its been said vince approved it initially but had to punish them because of people like cornette who was livid.
The person in the video did also say that Vince even wished he could join their kliq. And even went on to talk about how much Vince admired Shawn and thought the sun shone out of his rear. So they didn't entirely make out like Vince was only mad at them.
I think every top star has use their power or fame to politic backstage, some probably more than others like the kliq....people like to talk about how sales and whatever was down when HBK and Diesel was champion but it wasnt like it was even better when brett was champ, people just wasnt feeling WWE at the time, the product and wrestling talent was down 93 - 95 was pretty bad unitl 96 came and the rest was history
I think some of us have just kind of see through the bullshit. “Oh, they got guys fired.” OK who? We’ve had 30 years of shoot interviews and nobody can honestly say that they were fired because of them. Shane Douglas loves making them look bad, but what Shane leaves out of his interviews are the times that guys like yokozuna and undertaker cussed him out in front of the locker room for not performing at a WWF standard. He doesn’t bring that up because then it doesn’t look like the Kliq is picking on him. It looks like well. Yeah they had a problem with him, but so did everyone else that had to work with him.
@@bdr113080 thank you, that REALLY needed to be said. Lol this vid was SO tilted, and I can't believe how many on here are replying with complete word for word belief of everything on here. Btw I love Hitman Hart but please tell me someone he HASN'T criticized or blamed from that time for everything that happened despite the fact he did pretty well for himself spot and title wise. And throwing all that suicide attempt stuff of Candido's on them is simply irresponsible reporting. Candido wasn't exactly being loyal himself and as good a talent as he was no one was gonna make that bodydonnas gimmick work, a gimmick WWE forced on him not the Kliq. His depression had a lot to do with that along with the explosive relationship he was in where there weren't any angels. It was a poisonous coupling that needed to be ended but neither would. He had zero problem banking off of the attention Sunny brought to them either. The point that he knew about the Michaels vacation and the rest yet still kept her still stands. The Kliq weren't angels and they made plenty of bad decisions but they did alotta important stuff too. The paychecks the boys make these days are heavily influenced by actions the Kliq made. It was them who would tell each other what they were getting each night so they found out how Shawn would make 30 for a run in during a match between Hall and Nash where they made 15 each. See the WWE and every other territory used to take bigtime advantage of the secrecy about money made and the paranoia running among the talents because of it. Nothing about that on here of course though because the guy had an angle he was pushing, not an interest in truth or the whole picture. This is the first vid I've watched on this channel and Christ I can see why. How about putting names on some of them quotes you put up on the screen too... Stick a name to it or don't quote it.
Who would have thought that Triple H will became not only the creative boss and married to Vince's Daugther. Sean (Xpac) will become an icon in his own t Right, Shawn Michaels los everything and comeback from the ashes to put on a decade of great matches and pushing the young boys, Nash is Nash, And Hall even though he never won a world Championship he is remembered as a great performer and a Icon.
Personally I LOVED Scott Hall/Razor Ramon, I consider him to be one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time... With that, I never liked a single other wrestler that was in the Kliq!
Almost every podcast I've seen says Kevin Nash was super chill when he was by himself and away from the Kliq but was super toxic when they were together. You get that vibe from his podcast too. Super chill until the Kliq is brought up.
It's funny that when I call out these guys, people on the internet give me a lot of grief. But these guys deserve every negative criticism they get. Especially Nash with his "vanilla midget" remarks that clowns still use today
It's ironic because he was the definition of vanilla in the ring. He barely had any moves and was so lazy that he'd do everything he could to get out of wrestling, yet still thought he deserved to take the title off of Goldberg when he didn't even need it.
the wwf pushed hbk big in 1995-96 and it flopped big time he didnt draw anything. it also didnt help that they were pushing him as their young hip star and he was still dressing like lead singer of poison at the height of grunge so out of touch
To be fair: around that time he became champion, WCW started the NWO angle. Imo it would have been hard for everyone to compete against Hogan, Hall and Nash, especially when you on the other hand are painted as a boring old fashioned baby face
No one was drawing shlt in '95-'96. Not even Hogan, Savage, Flair in WCW... HBK didn't get a World Title run until '96 at WM. I admit his babyface persona sucked, but his run in '97 into early '98 was some of the best heel work ever... The fans loved him when he returned in 2002. He was still doing the 80's rocker type schtick for the rest of his career and fans were still behind him. The height of Grunge in '95-'96? The Grunge trend had died out by 1995. So out of touch.
@@romibodoni No. I'm a Kliq Chick. So I have love for HBK. But I can't defend a lie. HBK had a 4 month headstart as champion before the nWo even formed...
@B P nah grunge was still popular in 96, 97. Michaels could get away with the 1990 Rockstar look because he was charismatic, and women liked him. I think the rocker look fit dx way better than a grunge look would've. Ravens Flock did the grunge thing, anyway.
@@Sammy_X7 hart foundation didn't have the same power back stage as the kliq you idiot. The kliq ran back stage and buried many wrestlers. you have no clue about wwe history! did you even see the video? Or did you just go straight to the comments?
This is why guys like Rock, Bret and Austin will always be more respected than guys like Michaels, HHH and Nash. The former got to the top on their merits and their merits alone. They didn’t destroy other human beings to get to the top. They did it the right way.
Bret the legend helped Rock and Steve, then they got so over and became legends themselves, and those two he helped created their best rivalries in WWE history
They are respected, tho, maybe not as every day, people, but at least what they've done inside the ring. And Vince deserves every bit of blame himself. How do you let 2, let alone 5 people run your company before you do? No excuses on their part, but when you're the boss, you're supposed to call the shots. Not your guys.
He had his own personal demons. I'm not defending what he done but he had ptsd from having to shoot a man with his own gun for his self defense. He was the most talented wrestler out of the entire kliq and his work was amazing. Bad guy but really good wrestler
You painted this perfectly. I'm angry watching this as I hate people like the Cliq. Everytime I watch something about them I'm angry. I've known a situation like this in my own job, and it was horrible. The big boss just let it happen and was sucked into being part of it. Scumbags.
They had good moments but mostly it is sad that they cut people's careers short left bad stains on what were legendary careers in pro wrestling and even though I am a fan of Nash, Hall, and Xpac I always wondered what it would have been like if they didn't get all the pull they got I actually don't think those three were the worst more so H and HBK 90% of the kliq stories that involved people being screwed over were those 2
you realize hall helped a ton of peoples careers right? He helped get DDP over, he came up with stings crow gimmick. He had a great mind for the business and put people over. Notice how he never had a world title? He was a good guy plagued by his past.
@@GrumpyWolfTech He was returning the favor. DDP got him over. He wasn't getting a lot of traction as Coyote or as Hennig's part. When ddp made him the Diamond Studd character, that was the spark for Razor Ramon.
I'm not a wrestling fan by any stretch of the imagination, but every vid I come across that in any way invovles Mark "The Undertaker" Calloway seems to truly sell him as a good person.
I believe the locker room only had issue with HBK and Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, X-Pac, and Triple H aren't as hated. For one Triple H was more respectful and safe in the ring and Kevin Nash doesn't do drama backstage, both only got point the finger cause they hang out with Hall and Michaels. Same for Waltman. HBK is like the main boss of the group, he doesn't want someone else above him unless he gets his way. Scott Hall is like the second in command and is usually the one that makes fun of most of the guys in the locker room especially Bret and Bulldog. This is why when Jeff Hardy first wrestled him, he almost made Jeff wanted to quit wrestling but then later Jeff wrestled X-Pac which made him change his mind as X-Pac was a more safer and respectful worker.
I was such a fan of the kliq back then.. ive been a wrestling fan since 1995...shawn Michaels was my idol back then..😅😅..had no idea he was the biggest diva n assh*le ever...im really gonna enjoy this video.. thanx..👌💞
Triple H, Waltman & HBK have grown on me. Nash I can tolerate when he doesn't talk about wrestling . Scott, I could barely tolerate. I also think Nash & Hall are extremely overrated, in WCW yeah the NWO was big in the 90s but in retrospect it's trash
Loved Michaels when I was a kid but damn, wish that Marine smacked some more sense into him. Candito definitely would've turned him upside down but it was the other members who were saving his ass from a jilted lover. Terrible people.
The sunny/shawn/candido thing is a pathetic situation on many levels. A man cant control a women if she wants to do what sunny ended up becoming known for doing her whole career, but chris should have dropped her immediatly. i'm confused about the part with her on vacation with shawn michaels while sunny and candido were still together? Wtf.
Probably Shawn used his clout to have Chris work a northern tour while he assumed Sunny and Shawn were working the southern tour but they were really on their own. It's not too hard to see how that scenario would play out as the wrestling thrived on house shows back then so a company as large as the WWE had up to 3 and even 4 groups of wrestlers working a specific set of cities and towns before shuffling the deck a bit and meeting back up at the TV taping or ppv. How it used to go was a few from group A would join B, some from B would join C and C and D would join the rest of A. So sonny could have been bragging about it and sharing pictures in the locker room down in Miami while Chris was in a whole nother Locker room in some small town in Arkansas
@@emanuelmartinez7267 I understand the logistical side of it. What i find hard to understand is with how open sunny was about sleeping around.. there is no way at least a handful of people didn't call chris/or told him in person about all of that bullshit. Yet, he allowed her to keep disrespect him to the point of leaving suicide notes. So he did know abou it. I cant comprehend why he didn't kick her to the curb.
@@Ims51 Pride. Pride is the reason and perhaps the ultimate factor on why he kept Sunny despite her casually messing around with other wrestlers in higher status than him. Sunny was fine as hell, she had a sexual appeal that rivaled and perhaps even topped most adult film stars and Chris was able to call her for his own. Could he have been a simp for putting up with it, certainly though I would have to say that he was unwilling to let go the one woman who was the hottest chick in the game.
@@Ims51 could be a similar situation to John Morrison and Melina, dude was a cuck in the purest sense of the word and as someone in a mutually agreed upon open relationship I'm definitely not kink shaming. John wasn't a guy that got off on watching his girl bang other people, by all accounts he just didn't say or do anything because he loved her so much. Some in the back would jokingly say Melina either had some serious dirt on him or she must have saved his life before because no one could figure out how such a nice and humble like johnny stayed loyal to a bitchy woman (at least in her younger days) like Melina who openly cheated on him with ALL of his co-workers. Seriously everyone said she was terrible for him and eventually lead to both of them getting let go because every time Melina was unhappy with her push or an angle she made Johnny back her up at the detriment to his own push, he was well liked in the back and management saw him as a great upper mid carder. At least he's doing much better and his relationship didn't kill his career like it did with Chris, guess things went different ways because sunny left Chris making him feel like all that sacrifice was for nothing, John finally saw Melina was no good for him and kicked her to the curb
@@emanuelmartinez7267 thats actually a perfect comparison. Even if morrison was a cuck in every sense of the word, at the end of the day he said fuck it, and was done with her. Candido just couldn't help himself until he died.

@@Showtime6192009 The fact that Bret has HHH'S name constantly in his mouth and the fact people constantly compare HHH to Shane Douglas when HHH NEVER had a beef with them (Shawn did) speaks volumes.
I never put anyone on a pedestal as a hero, they are human, that’s the first mistake people make, there were numerous “cliques” in the back, you had BSK (Undertaker’s group) the Hart family including Bulldog and Anvil etc. it was a fractured locker room in the early to late mid 90s, it’s just Shawn and his group where more ruthless and cutthroat, it was every man for themselves, look how Bret Hart got his brother Owen and his brother in law the Bulldog in main event situation, you think the boys liked that Bret was politicking for his family monopolize the top spots? And putting them in long term storylines?
I won't dispute anything you've said as that is a fool's errand. I can appreciate the work the professional wrestlers put it though I despise the industry due to it's notorious politicking and if anyone wants to dispute that fact all they have to do is look at the samoan jackasses that vinny kenny mcminnie's house of big sweaty men props up as the greatest ever.

Thus shocking the crowd not only breaking any hope of kayfabe for the older audience who had followed wrestling their whole lives but literally KILLED KAYFABE for a whole the whole younger generation erasing the “good guy vs bad guy” stuff they’d seen on tv & confirming to them “my friends were right wrestling is fake & I can’t believe I didn’t already know looking back on it) thus the now world famous “curtain call” was born bc it drew the curtain so to say on kayfabe

i’m surprised no one stretched them in the ring you can’t use your power if your injured
You’d have to stretch all of them. And may god have mercy on your career if you even touched the fragile Shawn Michaels.

It's baffling their love by the fans yet hated by the roster, reminds of a certain someone, if you understand what I'm saying…
Maybe... A certain cult of personality?

Loved Michaels when I was a kid but damn, wish that Marine smacked some more sense into him. Candito definitely would've turned him upside down but it was the other members who were saving his ass from a jilted lover. Terrible people.
Rest In Peace Scott Hall your demons won 😢

And putting them in long term storylines?
I won't dispute anything you've said as that is a fool's errand.
