@@twcoursolle Yeah, the early 2000s (and also 2004) had an aesthetic rather reminiscent of the late 90s. It is fair game to call this 'nostalgic', 'retro' or 'old school'.
I vividly remember everything in the video. Yep, this was exactly what YTV looked like in 2005 and fall 2004. Fall/late 2004 marked the very beginning of YTV phasing out the 'Keep It Weird' era with the Bionix programming block and no multi-mascot primetime promos. Still predominantly Keep It Weird of course. But by fall/late 2006 the era was almost over.
100% correct, by 2006 YTV had changed alot of its programming! Alot of us born 1992-1995 probably started watching less then. I'll always miss Paula on Vortex too!
And the bricks crushing Retrontario’s head and brain for giving everything a fade-in and fade-out, keeping it in such crappy quality, logo replacing and plastering, and obviously the STUPID WATERMARK!!!!
It is probably Edward Glen though. Did voice acting work for Thomas the Tank Engine as Thomas. He also worked on Angela Anaconda which was another popular show on YTV.
Can't believe that to this day there are no good copes of Jonovision. I'd imagine at least one person in the entire country was taping it, but there's still nothing. I used to watch the show after school. Most shows off YTV are available in some form, but not Jonovision, which would be the best slice of the late 90's.
I've been in Canada for 21yrs... Everyone all the time aske me where you learn your English i always reply ytv the zone with suger guess what? They invite me over to their house put on YTV and again they ask this where you learned you're English, yes i reply every day at 4:30pm at the zone DBZ at 9:30pm...
@@fruttlicious you know I thought it stopped being cool in 2010 but it truly stopped being cool when the zone logo changed. I only stayed because of Carlos. But now as of 2019, YTV is boring and not fun without Carlos.
@@fruttlicious tbh, I never really cared for the anime, I only wanted to watch Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents and whatever show was on during that time.
2004, I was ten years old. YTV was all I ever watched at that time.
Also, Inuyasha was, and still is, my jam.
Hey I was 10 in 2004 as well and watched lots of YTV that year. I too loved InuYasha.
@@JackHY2K I was 12.
i was also 10!!
I’m 30 now and my back hurts
I was 8 years old. I miss watching Danny Phantom when it was brand new.
What’s so retro about 2004? Was the first thing that came to mind before I realized that was almost 20 years ago
the early 2000s definitely had a really distinct aesthetic that you just don't get anymore i think it's fair game to call this "nostalgic"

@@JackHY2K This is when the channel started to get downhill.
It went downhill when numb chucks aired in my opinion
It's been 20 now that it is 2024
Wow major nostalgia. I loved getting home after school to watch the zone with Sugar and Carlos
'04-'05 YTV peaked for me. Used to tune into Martin Mystery, and for anime goodies, Inuyasha and Witch Hunter Robin.
Same, Sugar and Paula were the best! That's the year Danny Phantom started airing too...
For real, I was there too.
I will never stop having a huge crush on Sugar
She is so cute.
Haha I had a crush on her too!
I miss her
I miss Sugar Baby, both here and on Kiss 92.5 back in the day
To this day I still have a thing for petite chicks.
Bionix was and still is my favourite block from YTV. I miss it so much.
Oddly enough, Gundam Seed was one of my favs from the channel as well.
I miss Bionix too. I liked Gundam Seed as well.
Why was Bionix removed?? I will never know…
Hard to believe this was almost 20 years ago. I can remember this like yesterday

Especially the Transformer one that was awesome.
i really miss how ytv was like in the past. wished they kept it
Their website at the time had the same little cartoon guys on it -the whole site was interactive so cool!
I moved to Canada in 2004 and I remember watching these bumpers. They were amazing. Such nostalgia
Martin Mystery. Being Ian. Yvonne of the Yukon. Inuyasha. ♡
I vividly remember some of this stuff. I was 9 years old at the time, but god this is really nostalgia
the fact that I can recall them as I'm watching shows how much I use to watch ytv lol..
I may not have watched YTV in awhile But I do miss Carlos and sugar being the hosts
Carlos will never be forgotten. I was shocked when I first heard the news.
@@okjeffy6581 he's onto bigger things
Did you like the Transformer bumper??
Nostalgia hitting me like a ton of bricks.
And the bricks crushing Retrontario’s head and brain for giving everything a fade-in and fade-out, keeping it in such crappy quality, logo replacing and plastering, and obviously the STUPID WATERMARK!!!!
Nostalgia hit me like that mechanical YTV logo that crushed the robot in that one bumper.
This is unlocking so many memories
I remember these bumpers!
20 years later what a time to be alive
3:55 and on. I KNOW that voice, a lot of it is nostalgia, but I can’t help but feel like I recognize it elsewhere.
It REALLY sounds like Tom Gottlieb (Cookie Masterson from the Jackbox Games)
It is probably Edward Glen though. Did voice acting work for Thomas the Tank Engine as Thomas. He also worked on Angela Anaconda which was another popular show on YTV.
Martin Mystery

At that time the "Keep It Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird On YTV!" era has history and herstory as well!
And that sort of era bumper had contained the classic “awhooga” sound effect.
I think I'm having a stroke. I'm being hit with such forgotten nostalgia. Especially The Zone with Sugar and Carlos.
I cant believe this sounds like it was recorded yesterday
Sweet sweet Sugar!
Cool, I remember these bumpers on ytv when I was little
OMG IT'S SUGAR.
Used to have a giant crush on her.
She has a you tube channel. There is a video of her eating a can of corn silently.
Lol I forgot she existed.
love it
Those The Zone bumpers 🤩
Do you have any ytv airing sof knights of the zodiac? It's currently lost media
I Saw BIONIX!!
Shame I never watched this station. Just turned 29 last Monday

It’d be so weird cuz they’d show promos like this followed by beyblade and Jacob two two
YTV 2003 to 2004
Looking back i'm thinking .. what were they on with these bizarre animations haha
Especially the ones at 0:43
Are you guys gonna upload more Treehouse content in future.
Pretty sure this is why I have ADHD
Wow I don't remember any of these, after msn came into my life in 2004. Just stopped watching tv
0:33 this probably predicted that Citroen commercial
So this is how I turned out the way I did
Sugar and Carlos the legendary YTV hosts ever back in early 00’s
These are way too new to be nostalgic.
BABANABABA
What happen to you YTV you used to be cool
