Eternal Shine. I saw it at London's Palladium in 2017, what a blast!
I am a friend of Jennifer Holliday. She is the most gorgeous, beautiful soul!!!
To know her is to love her!!!!!
This tribute is off the charts!!!!!
Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you. I hope you show it to her. I am sure she would not remember me from New York City. Its been decades!
@@Moderndrama I already told her about it!! She is happy and living in Atlanta!!! I wish Broadway was better to her!!!! Thank you again for this incredible tribute!!!! You are a class act!!;
She is a great vocalist
Once upon a time I attended the same church as Ben Harney. Everyone was all aflutter about this show and as others have said here in the comments, this show had a PROFOUND impact on me. My brother was a huge Supreme's fan and I could not believe just how beautiful this show was and the staging and the dancing, especially "Step Into The Bad Side", extraordinary!! Thank you for this, you brought us back to magical moments!
One of the "Best" musicals I've ever seen in my Life! So fortunate to have seen the original on Broadway 👏🏾
The film version is as close to perfection as possible. Must see.
I saw the first touring company of Dreamgirls at the Shubert Theater in Los Angeles with Jennifer Holiday. The second act opening number was new for the LA production and was amazing. I will never forget that night hearing Jennifer Holiday sing. Great Show!!!!
Saw the original version on Broadway when I was in high school. Shook my world. Seen it many many more times on Bway, on tour, regional, the movie, online, etc. etc. trying desperately to rekindle that feeling of seeing it for the first time. My life was forever changed by this show -- I entered the world of show business -- and will be forever grateful.
THAT is the magic of theater!!
This gives me chills. The greatest show I’ve EVER seen.
Yes, yes, yes. Just made my week. I am grinning at the phone the whole way through.
Blessed to have seen this Broadway production twice.
Thanks for uploading this edition of Dreamgirls. It brought back great memories. I have seen all 3 versions. I originally saw the 1st one I believe in 1981 at the Morris Mechanic Theatre in Baltimore, the second one with Sheryl, Loretta, and Jennifer Holiday on Broadway in NYC and of course the movie version . I loved each version but my favorite Effie, I had to take off my shoe and throw it for such an Oscar worthy performance!🎉🎉🎉
I love this tribute! I've been a fan of Dreamgirls since 1982. I've been cast in 4 different productions, did some extra work on the film, and have gotten to befriend Sheryl, Loretta, Jennifer, and Obba. It was a dream come true to take part in the 35th Anniversary concert, and share the stage with all three original Dreams, AND my dear friend, Mary Wilson.💝 #EternallyGrateful #Dreamboy
I love this, thank you!
I saw the original Dream Girls on Broadway what a treat ❤
best musical i ever saw
All those girls ! All were great
Greastest play ever. I'm crying now watching this.
They should remaster the play and put it out for streaming. 💖
Facts!!!! The Wiz, too.
The original of course!
I wish this was released on DVD or something. This play seems like it was incredible
My sentiments exactly! It was amazing! Pure magic! ✨✨✨
At this so happy aniversary I remember I was at Palladium, in London April🎉🎉 2017...that was quite a Dream session
Happy 40TH Anniversary to Dreamgirls….& thank you to those involved for making an elegant and loving production.
Thank you! Just beautiful. 🥲
I love images that are taken during the creative process, and I love the shots of Michael Peters, who was an amazing choreographer.
This is just fantastic and all of the Ladies sound great 👍👍 ... Outstanding 🤗
I love this

Sheryl Lee Ralph, not 'Shirley' - On Broadway there are microphones everywhere, even in the wigs on their heads. It is 7 shows a week - 2 on Wednesdays and Saturdays with Monday night being dark. (FYI) - Thanks for watching, Prof Shields
I remember seeing the show in December in 1981 the week between Christmas and News years .
The original Dream girls 🥰❤️🖤💚 is excellent, the latest movie version was good also🥰❤️🖤💚black excellence and black history forever
My brother bought the album way back when; we both were in Jr. High school here in Washington, DC and he 2 yrs older than I. I hope he still has the album. 😊
Thank you so much for this. I understand many of the cast and supporting crew members have departed this earth, sadly, much too soon. It was hard to say goodbye. They are not forgotten.
Thank you
So beautifully said!!!
I was lucky to see the Boston try out…..the most amazing musical i have ever seen!!!! Ms Holiday took the roof of the theater!!!! I still get chills when i hear her sing!!!
Thanks for post.......I loved the play... I was able to obtain Jennifer Holliday's autograph :)
Fabulous show, I saw it 4 times.
This is in my top 3 of favorite movies I watched it everyday for 2 years straight ❤
I don't understand why such plays are not on DVD. Sad shame as I have seen other plays readily available, but not this or THE WIZ with Stephanie Mills. What gives. I heard that these plays were on Broadway for DECADES and did phenominally well, so it can not be because they were/are not worth saving to disc...
If anyone knows of availability please let me know...
I was sooo young when the play came out, I didn’t get the opportunity to see it. But I loved the movie; which made me want to see the play even more!
Earl Miller, I did not like the movie at all. Not 100% truthful. They should've made the movie based on Mary Wilson's book Dreamgirls. I saw Diane Ross on David Letterman one night. She said she was going to see the movie with her Lawyers. They made Diane look like a nice person in the movie and she was not a nice person in real life. She is/was a bit..
Amazing! Very nicely done!
Thank you.
Saw this on Broadway also but with Roz Ryan for the matinee
Roz Ryan is so talented. I didn't know she was in Dreamgirls. I bet she was amazing!
