Like sure, I hate the sun cost but like I know it is a problem as well but we should get worried more if it keeps happening, it only happened like two times now. Then there is PvZ 3. I just think that game is using PvZ as the base but just keep doing the mobile game cycle. Use a IP everyone loves, Make it have grind, and then make it feel not fun and add mircotranactions to spit on your face. I want to pick my plants and I want a world map. Like I want old plants but new ones as well. Comment if anyone agrees somewhat
IMO levitater isn't even bad, it's just that popcap and EA have been making such stupidly overpowered plants that a fair and balanced one now looks bad.
Agreed. Plants like Pea Vine, Rhubarbarian etc. Don't even get me started on how OP Mints are, especially Spear-mint.

It's not good enough to be balanced though.
I haven't play PVZ2 for so long since I hated the seed packet update and they really did not learn their lesson about making the game more P2W than it already is.

You can plant Tomb Tangler on every lawn obstacle (like surfers surfboards or NMT speakers), so it's a bit more usefull

@@statexotic1 The guy just said it can be planted on Surfboards, so it can be planted in Big Wave Beach. He also said that it can be planted on the Neon Mixtape Tour speakers, but since those are exclusives to the Zomboss battle, it can only be planted there with modding.

@@statexotic1 The grave added to all worlds was scrapped, it was almost added but graves for every world would be too repetitive.
The reason why Tomb Tangler costs 40 sun and not 25 sun is due to *Inflation*

So it wasn't always 500 crowns to unlock the featured Arena plant. I returned to play after years and began to question how did I managed to get Dazey Chain, Electici-tea, Olive Pit and the mints etc. because getting Levitator this time felt hella grindy and it isn't even a good plant. Seems like I returned to play at the worst moment.
Oh and the 100 plays costs 4 gems each so 400 gems and you can’t lose once

It breaks down to you spending 20 games which cost too much per gauntlet to enter and you have to win
It’s 500 crowns you get 5 per win and 5x100 is 500 so 100 wins to get a plant I’m very glad this wasn’t on mega gattling

Honestly my main concern with tomb tangler is what he spells for future plants upgrades. Put simply, his cost not being an multiple of 25 means that future plants have the possibility of having pointless cost upgrades. Like, 25 is the perfect point to stop for cost reductions, but tomb tangler makes that bar go even lower. Just about anything under 20 is not going to help you, even when spamming the same plant. Price reductions were the most hype thing, but this update is sending them on a not so nice path.
They made Gold Leaf cost 85 sun when they added upgrades for it and Thyme warp (which also had its cost increased). I hate it.

25 x 5 = 125, 20 x 5 = 100, 15 x 5 = 75, 10 x 5 = 50, 5 x 5 = 25.
This makes it more sun efficient still and are pretty big for early game. Since how well early game does determines how well late goes this is a pretty massive boon. In terms of breaking the pattern it is annoying but it works.
on the adventure keys, if you go to almanac, then select a plant and go to map, beat the first level of the world, not only do you get the first plant, the world UNLOCKS ITSELF PERMANENTLY

The first level of any world isn't that bad, so you can get strong plants (specifically Primal pea) much earlier than intended

I wish that they bring it back to 250 to get the whole plant, 500 is just too much. It's so hard to beat players that have almost all the plants leveled up.

how much money you can spend on the game is directly linked to how much work you do + how good a job you can get
The update feature I hate, their attempt at optimizing receiving the rewards, notorious when you pick the bundled reward. You have to sit through of reveal animations of what you got (say the plant specific seeds and the pinata), then sit through opening the specific seed reward, then reveal animation of that, then opening the pinata reward, then reveal of that, but there's another plant in that pinata so opening animation of that, etc... The open and skip buttons are nowhere near each other. The old one was faster as you just need to spam tap to go through the rewards.

The fact that if I tap through it STILL shows the summary from the ‘skip’ button. Awful, literally just showing the user all the info twic!

RIGHT?? That thing has been bugging me for WEEKS, you cannot even get the bundle reward because they now show an animation for every single plant that takes forever. Why make an skip button if you're gonna add MORE stuff that will slow down the poccess??
You forgot to mention that replaying Piñata Party now costs 10 gems instead of watching an ad. I don't really used the exploit but the fact that they made it cost 10 gems is a huge slap in the face for everyone. No sane player would ask for this change but they did it anyway.
I heard they will revert arena season plant unlock back to 300 crowns after Levitator so they were actually listening or because of the programming bug (which I hope is not.)
I agreed that they should focus on new worlds instead of focusing on new plants. They already put too much plants that most of them are rarely used and they still haven't implement I,Zombie which is a game mode I'd prefer playing over Vasebreaker.
Ikr they already have enough new plants to even at least extend the existing worlds and make some seed plants obtainable through worlds. The number of premium/gem/seed packet plants compared to world plants is insane.

Some messed up things you forgot to mention, or maybe didn't notice:
-There's no more 50 gems rewards in Arena after winning 50 trophies
-Despite being upgradeable, Thyme Warp and Gold Leaf's seed packet cannot be obtained, even after buying their world pinata
-They haven't fix the "Out For Lunch" bug issue in Penny's Pursuit since forever
-The plants are now RNG based, which further force players to grind for their seeds to be able to utilize them properly
-Penny's Pursuit and Pinata Party's levels have become obnoxiously hard to the point using power ups is necessary
Im sure there's still a lot more, but these are the ones i remember now
I totally agree about the penny’s persuit thing , I HAVE to use power ups to kill those pesky level 11 zombies , it’s THE worst when they force you to not pick plants by yourself
I'd argue this Penny's Pursuit is by far the least challenging for me. Just stall the zombies with Primal Peashooter and Winter Melon then finish the zombies off with PPM (assuming the level isn't a pre-selected seeds one or conveyor belts).

As someone who plays this game casually and wouldn't even imagine grinding out this game, this update is still annoying, having them absolutely ruin the previously world exclusive plants and also having them ruin Adventure even more is just heartbreaking
Tomb Tangler should cost at most 25, and its gas should deal poison damage to zombies, not just slow them.
For me personally, I’m just upset they haven’t fixed the really buggy music glitch on mobile. It’s been well over a year!

Even if you are able to play the event, it might be bugged and only allow you to use tomb tangler and cause the first level to be impossible. I can’t believe stuff like that still hasn’t been fixed.

The points I learned

Second, the cost of tomb tangled isn't that big of a problem
Third, Ever since the introduction of levelling of plants this game is ruined . the nerfs for certain plants in the game made it a bit uncomfortable to play with
For instance, in the earlier versions of the game each projectile of the red stinger dealt double the damage of a regular peashooter's pea , while the plant shot as fast as a repeater basically making red stinger a Gatling pea at the cost of 150 sun

Every PVZ game has the cost being multiples of 25 for 13 years and this is just disrespecting the rule

I'm losing interest in the game day by day. You've basically explained all of the issues players face in the new update.
-Pinata replay for coins/ads replaced with gems. I myself used that a lot for grinding. I unlocked A LOT of plants that way, even though it was a tedious process.
-Cannot play any type of special event since the Lawnball event
-Levitator and Tomb tangler are underwhelming. Mega Gattling Pea was an exciting addition and since its month, I have pretty much lost all my interest in playing Arena...
-I also remember the time you could purchase 260 world seed packets for 100 gems. Now that number is down to 200.
Luckily there are some exciting new editions to the PvZ2 roster coming in the next update, at least in my opinion. Vaporcini and Meteor Flower look viable. Hope they don’t botch up the Winter/Christmas plant.

So Gold Leaf and Thyme Warp can be leveled up now. But has anyone even managed to obtain seedpackets? They aren't available through playing world, or by piñatas in store. They make them upgradable but don't actually have the means of being leveled up
Why did they even made them upgradable? Just make them usable on worlds outside of their worlds ( list city and neon mixtape tour ) and there you have it , but not only you can’t do that ( pretty sure they didn’t change that ) but now gold leaf costs 80 sun to plant down……the reason people wanted to use them was because the way they were was good/balanced , 0 sun for a tile that requires you to put a plant on top of it is a great deal , the downside ? It takes one of your slots which if you think about it it’s kinda of a big deal since it doesn’t provide any defence in the lawn , now ? Now I have to put 80 sun to transform a tile into a platform that gives me 50 ! At that point just use twin sunflower! You get the exact same amount of sun ( had you placed a gold leaf and a sun flower ) and you save 5 sun ( not a lot but you still save some sun )
I thought it was just me, good to know(?) that everyone else also experiencing the same thing. Now we can hate on Popcap and EA together

Tbh, I’ve always found the gem’s worth in PvZ2 to be rather interesting. If you looks for a bit, aside from world piñatas, event piñatas/deals have rarely been good lately compared to a few years ago. Either being overpriced/have scaling unless they are the PoTW, which means they have strange influx of worth. (60 Zoybean Packets vs 100 Three Pea/25 Appease) (150 for Blastberry vs 2k~ for Shinevine just a few months ago)
Personally I hope popcap make gems more plentiful in penny/arena rewards. Penny gives like 15k-20k coins a day, and I think 10-20 gems a day could be interesting/increase the end of tourney gem rewards for 2nd/3rd.
But if they still want to keep the weirdly balanced economy, decrease the gem amount needed to buy seeds from a plant one hasn’t unlocked. (Aside from current arena plants)

I prefer the last update before they killed the pinata party two play per day/night. Levitatar for me was interesting. Have not seen any specialty events since the last one.

I found a bug in the new update that can make you go to ANY WORLD you want, even the locked world. Here is the step:
1.go to almanac.
2.tap on world unlocked plant you didnt get yet.
3.tap "View on map" button, then you will be taken to the world where the plant come from.
You can also play the level on the world & get the plants of that world,and after playing a level the world will be unlocked permanently.

I haven't played PvZ2 in a while but I don't even know if I want to play it again after this update...
I was playing Vasebreaker earlier and noticed that the Move Vase powerup was free and infinitely usable despite not having it unlocked. theoretically the other two Vasebreaker powerups are free while locked too.
Imagine if the butter power up dealt damage.

Because I saw where this was going, and I knew I wouldn't like it. Seeing this makes me feel sad, really. I love the game and the content, playing since the first 3 worlds were the only ones and hoping for Far Future. Expecting for every update.
Now I'm scared of what they will do in every update.

Yeah Tomb Tangler and Gold Leaf's costs are too cursed, what was PopCap thinking when making this update?!
The fact that TT has both an Arena season (and Arena seasons are excuses to add new plants) and a Thymed Event is unnecessary. Why can't these new plants be more accessible? PopCap has some good plant ideas (like Inferno), however their accessibility is really limited and the plants' abilities are poorly executed, causing them to lose balance and become underpowered, overpowered, or an outclasser of an old plant.
Back in around 2013 to 2015 the game was great until Pop Cap made it worse.
Here the reasons why
- New map kinda sucks, the old map was better.
- Removed the stars from the old version.
-Leveling up system.
-They changed the world order base on difficulty.
-New boss level icons are worse than than old ones.
I wish they kept the game the way it is instead keep updating it.

I checked, they increased the sun cost by 10 sun,
I finally played through this all the way through the adventure a few months ago. Arena and penny's pursuit I tried out but I thought they were very poorly made. I kinda dropped the game already but before that I actually ended up installing an older version to do some stuff with the world key system and multiple save files. I had much more fun with the older update than what I played with before that. People I've talked to getting into the community seem to share a similar thought with me and furthermore they've stuck by the updates and seem to become more and more disappointed with each new one. I think that if I'm to get back on it at all it's either going to be with an old update or in an attempt to mod it. Count me out of what it is now.

the piñata party exploit was super helpful. It helped me get 30k coins and rhubarbarian, Heath seeker.

Me who still grind this game more than u think, beating penny pursuit, +beating all 2-3 star chill, reach 1000 crown every season, currently at jade league, spends ridiculous amount of money to get shit amount of less seeds pack. This is why this game is so grinding and P2W, its nearly impossible to upgrade our plants to max

There is a way to get to modern day with a trick it's simple go to the level up section then press on the locked plant you press on the view map and then beat one level and then exit out and then boom it's all unlocked

its so slow when it shows you all the rewards and it has a bug where it goes offscreen if you have a ton of rewards. (this happened to me)
literally you can just skip it and who even waited to see their rewards like what's the fricking point just look at it the normal way and you can just remember the seeds you got.

50 seed packets for 80 gems?
I managed to play the tomb tangler event but it isn't too difficult or too easy and it was just fifteen levels of ancient Egypt but you have to use tomb tangler as a meatshield. The entire thing including the rewards are mediocre and if there were adds between levels I wouldn't play it
Tomb Tangler being nerfed to 50 sun was the end of the plant.
ONE thing that i hate with this game is when you unlock a plant with its sead packets you LOSE all the seed packets AND you cant upgrade the plant, i thought that when i was playing i finally had the packets for dartichoke and i cant even upgrade it

Okay it's bad for me:
First of all, the ancient Egypt world. I mean, what happened to the medium difficulty, they made its way to easy.
Second, Tomb Tangler. Curse sun cost, I mean they could have just made it 50 sun but that's not my point. The point is that this plant is 100 percent useless. Yes, when I first played a level with it. Don't get this plant.
Third, the gold leaf "buff". So thyme warp and gold leaf said that they will have a buff. Their buff is to be "used" in other worlds or eras. Sadly they didn't make it. Only thyme warp are buff cuz of "zombie health rewound" thing. Not to mention that gold leaf is 80 sun. Man what is popcap thinking.
I believe the Battlez problems is not the 5 hours of grinding but the playability. Only thing I bought in the game was a plant, I am not willing to spend money to play on Battlez so I have to spend all of my gems and watch ads every time I can if I want to keep a solid first position on the leaderboard.
They should have made it 49 sun just because
If you cant play the event its ok, before it didnt even let me use any plant, not even tomb tangler and now it only lets me use tomb tangler but i cant even win the first level bc there arent enough tombs and bad rng
I think it's time you tackle about Vamporcini and Meteor Flower, Koala.
Well for me the thymed event is this that it starts normal and in the who's your seed packet screen it shows no seed slots and you can play the level with nothing but your sun
I legitimately don’t even have any thymed events , the last thyme event that I played was a summer thyme event
