I'm buying another ereader because reading is not fun on the nova 3 color. I use the nova 3 color for loads of things, but to my eyes, I can't read it at all backlit, and the white is so dark that unless it is full sunlight, it always needs backlighting. I don't think I'd buy a nova 3 color again. But I did enjoy the experience of owning one from the standpoint of an eink enthusiast.
@NaMaths after 6 months they still haven't realized it. Color e-ink is such an uncertain technology that frankly I don't think they'll do that any time soon (or ever)
@NaMaths Can u divide the screen in two with the 7.8 inch? you could do that in classic Onyx Nova 7.8''. And the last please... could you take notes on PDFs or EPUBs like you were using a pen? I mean writing on them without problem?
Personally I like the 7.8 idea...not for tonnes of writing but for taking to work, being able to take notes, make daily entries, and with this device, in a pinch being able to use android apps!...all your e books available as well! Annotations on exported pdf's... Super useful in a (big) pocket size device! I use a detailed pocket diary and really looking at this to be able to one day replace my paper diary. And if one needs a bigger screens there are plenty other options out there.
Study after study have shown that given the choice of millions of colors available to them people invariably use 8 or less. Occasionally shades of these 8. This is why programs like Excel while having the standard 16 million colors available to you also prominently show the 8 since that is what most folks are interested in using. The availability of 16 million shades ended up being a marketing gimmick. Graphic artists certainly use more than the 8 but they are also not you typical user. I also would assume that they would only use tools which maximize their flexibility and creativity. So ipad and surface for them.

Wow, the colors are almost not colors. Sticking with iPad for at least another 10 years.

16 colors... Wow... It almost made me laugh out loud. That's stone age... I can't get excited by that, even on an e-ink display..
