    This has to be one of your best videos! My gratitude to "Auntie" for sharing her cooking techniques. I loved Indian desserts because I never had one that was overly sweet, and there was always some nutritional value to the dish. I love the Mumbai videos and I'm looking forward to Goa.

    Ashley and Josh, you are two of most delightful ambassadors of your country, the warmth and hospitality that your tour guide showed and the easygoing warmth of aunty in welcoming you both to her home is really the true heart of India and her common folks, you were completely unaffected as was your host by the fact that Dharavi is Asea's largest slum, that speaks volumes about your goodness of heart as it does of your tour guide, He truely demonstrated India's age old dictum "'Atithi Devo Bhava'' loosely translated it means "the guest is like God, I hope both of you would come back soon and visit many more places in India

    Why foreigners have to go Dharavi every time?

    • @surajhattarkal8805
      @surajhattarkal8805 6 лет назад +42

      Arvind Gupta like every other Mumbaiker I also used to think the same but when I went on this dharavi tour it completely change my perception about dharavi.
      In fact dharavi is a silent hero for Mumbai. Mumbai's economy is greatly supported by dharavi.
      Do you know 80 percent of Mumbai's plastic waste is recycled in dharavi. Can you imagine what would happen to that plastic waste if dharavi stops recycling.
      There are 10 thousand small scale industries in dharavi and which produces every thing from denim to expensive leather good. On my tour I noticed that any thing we buy in Mumbai there are great chances that it's been made in dharavi or similar places. Best example I can give is leather and textile. In fact most of the Papad which you and me eat in made in dharavi but you will never see it on the package.
      Lastly I would just tell that the estimated turnover of dharavi is around 30 billion rupees.
      More then 30,000 foreigners visit dharavi every year(from school trips to MNC's). Ask yourself why would someone do so? Because they get to learn so much for rest of their life.

    • @user-yh4uj2sx9x
      @user-yh4uj2sx9x 6 лет назад +9

      yes we know that but foreigners dont know all that..if they all the reactors show is slums..thats the impression foreigners will have of india, iam not saying show only good side of india..but atleast show both..maintain a balance..first thing they landed in mumbai..and straight slums??..ppl in the west anyway are pretty stereotypical about many countries...and when the first thing you show is the slums...it add on the stereotypical...as a vblogger i think its important to break stereotype across nations not to enhance it..

      This is a business in Mumbai now..the tour companies take foreign tourists to the slums and make money by selling poverty. This cooking and feeding the guests is also a part of the business. Search in google and you will find more .
